Episode Nine: The Beast

Eve:<Of course.>

*Terriermon digivolves, and Rapidmon flies out. Karatenmon dodges then uses Feather Flare down at the water*

D<We should do something.>

R"Okay, but let's get this fish back first."

*So he pulls the hook out & attempts a mercy killing with it as they fly back.*

E"Maybe we should try to force it on land. If it's a water-dwelling Digimon, that should give it some trouble, right?"

Their attacks just make splashes in the water. For all they know whatever attacked is either gone or lurking nearby waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Taiyo: "None of the Digimon can swim though...."

Hitomi: "Can you get him back?"

Anubimon: "I can try."

Anubimon heads downstairs leaving Hitomi with Salamon and Sanzomon to watch the events unfold in the lens. Azuma is just making his way through the desolate, lifeless town.

On the other side, they can see the others skulking about above the water, looking for something presumably.

*Roatha lands & passes the fish off to Euryale, who takes it with a look of "What do you want me to do with this fish?"*

R"That is a problem."

*The other digimon return as well*

Kylie:<The right digimental is with Hitomi and Azuma.>

Taiyo: "We should go somewhere else."

Hitomi: "We have to rejoin the others."

Through the side of the lens overlooking the World of Darkness, they can see Anubimon has made contact with Azuma, looking incredibly uneasy about where it is.

Anubimon opens a rift and leads Azuma through it back to the pyramid, leaving him a little haggered.

Anubimon: "That is why I did not escort you directly into the World of Darkness. I have never had to escort a human there, so I do not know how it would affect you."

Azuma: "I've....felt worse."

Hitomi hugs Azuma.

And I've felt better.

Hitomi: "Did you find what you were looking for?"

Azuma: "Hopefully. Let's go reunite with the others."

Azuma looks to Anubimon & Sanzomon.

Azuma: "Thank you for all your help. I'm not sure how to repay the two of you."

Sanzomon: "Finish your journey."

Anubimon: "Restore balance to the Digital World."

With a farewell, they set off, Salamon Digivolving then Armor Digivolving to Nefertimon. Following the signals on their Digivices, they fly tpwards the group.

Azuma: "Thank you."

Hitomi: "For what?"

Azuma: "For being you."

Hitomi looks down at the back of Nefertimon's head, trying to surpress a blush.

Hitomi: "Thank you. I don't know how to be anyone else."

R"Go where?"

Eve:<To another island I suppose.>

*Eve checks the map on her digivice*

Depending on which map she's using she either sees Azuma & Hitomi moving in their direction still some ways away or the island that had some trees not far from their current position.

Taiyo: "What Eve said. We should fly faster than it can swim."

R"And do what once we're there?"

*She checks both*

<Azuma and Hitomi are heading this way, and there's an island not too far from here with some trees.>

Taiyo: "Maybe not be attacked."

As if to illustrate their self-imposed marooning whatever's lurking in the water fires off more projectiles, none exactly going anywhere in particular.

Eve:<Whatever that is will likely fire on us when we fly over the water.>

Terriermon:<Then we'll stay out of range!>

R"We're already out of range."

Taiyo: "It's better than sitting here hoping we don't get hit."

R"Flying over the thing shooting us & hoping we don't get hit is not better than staying away from it & hoping that we don't get hit. That makes no sense at all."

Terriermon:<We will have to leave soon anyway...>

Nerfertimon closes in, the two seeing the others under fire.

Azuma: "You up to go swimming?"

Patamon nods while Hitomi transfers the Digimental of Reliability to Azuma, the Digimental of Hope taking its place.

Patamon jumps off Nefertimon and Mantaraymon goes crashing down into the water where he sees Mermaimon being kind of a dick.

Nefertimon lands as the attacks stop.

Taiyo: "This is probably a good time to go."

Mantaraymon attacks with Torpedo Ray, catching Mermaimon off guard. It halts attacking the land based group to direct its attention to the mantaray.

*Terriermon and Biyomon digivolve to their ultimate and champion forms respectively. Rapidmon picks up Eve, while the Sorensons and Lunamon get on Saberdramon, who holds out his other foot to Taiyo*

*Roatha shrugs.*

R"Whatever, fine by me."

Taiyo and Renamon board Saberdramon.

Taiyo: "What about you two?"

Azuma: "Patamon'll keep it occupied and we'll bugger off elsewhere."

This one sure is a lot stronger than MarineDevimon.

Mantaraymon swims about trying to avoid Mermaimon's attacks, firing back with his own every now and again.

*Saberdramon and Rapidmon take off, flying towards the island with trees*

*Fly.*

The trees are much like the one's from the Misty Trees because it's a piece of it, a statue of a Goamon staring out at the incoming group of jagoffs from within a bush.

Azuma: "Now might be a good time to go."

Nefertimon takes flight firing a Rosetta Stone into the water, hoping Mantaraymon gets the message.

Mermaimon returns fire at the flying sphinx, Mantayraymon stings it with his tail before he jets, washing up on the shore.

Azuma: "We're going!"

Mantaraymon reverts to Patamon and Armor Digivolves to Pipismon and they take off in a different direction from the others.

*Everyone lands, and Eve checks her digivice*

<They aren't heading this way.>
