Evil Dead

Astarte walked back to Nero's body and went through his pockets, taking out anything she found.

Stefan waited until he couldn't see anybody watching and slipped out of his room and down the hall further into the hospital. He forced a casual walk and peeked into any room he could without walking in.

Taiyo: "It won't change anything."

Eve:<I agree that something must be done to take him out of the picture. What exactly that might be...I don't know.>

*The 1st 2 rooms that Stefan checks are empty, however in the 3rd he finds Tirea & Azuma.*

*She finds his phone, lighter, & she already has his pocket knife. She can search his backpack if she doesn't mind the shadows shifting around her.*

S"I already said we should kill him."

L"I don't know...."

S"What is there to question? It's him or us, & do you want it to be him?"

Astarte just grabbed his backpack as a whole, whispered "Sorry, Nero", and took off in the direction she best remembered the road being in in relation to the front of the cabin.

Stefan kept out of sight, sneaking up to the door, and tossed one of his notes in before quietly running away back to his room.

Taiyo: "Why does it have to be anyone?"

Eve:<Well, how would you propose we kill him?>

*Tirea has actually gone to sleep, so she doesn't notice anything*

*So I guess Tirea & Azuma just sit there until somebody notices that paper.*

S"Have you forgotten how he sent 2 of your friends to the hospital? Or how those who went to check on them were ambushed by a beast? He is effectively an accomplice to Euryale's murder. As far as how to do it, I'm sure the biology department has a poison that's difficult to trace. The body can then be disposed of in the Black Forest."

*Eventually, she stumbles out onto the road to find that it's thankfully still daytime. A shadow passes overhead as something very large lands in the trees above her. If she looks, she'll see a white shape moving further into the forest.*

*At some point, Grimm comes back from a bathroom break to find Roatha sitting in his office chair, feet propped up on the table & scrawling something inside of the Bible he keeps on his desk. He doesn't look up when Grimm enters.*

R"So, I hear you're not workin' with the kid anymore."

Astarte watched it go and started down the road towards Pforzheim, attempting to hail any car passing that way.

Stefan got back on his bed and sat cross-legged, watching the door.

"...The boy got confused, and got stupid," Grimm stood besides Roatha and tried to see what he was scrawling. "He would only have gotten in the way if there was trouble again."

*Eve stares at her hands, not wanting to look at anyone else's face*

Eve:<That seems like the logical way to do it, although we would to find a way to get him to ingest the poison. Getting it into his food or water might be difficult...>

*She covers her mouth with one hand, looking rather sick*

*Roatha is on Judges, in which a slave woman is given to a mob to be raped. When she dies, her master has her dismembered & sent to the various tribes of Israel. Roatha appears to be recreating this in graphic detail, with surprisingly good art skills. He then abruptly slams the book shut & shoots up.*

R"Guess it falls upon me to eliminate him, then. Just got to find a way to get him out of that hospital & into the forest."

Schreiber<Entertaining this plan for a moment, how would you dispose of the body?>

S"Taking him to the forest would probably be the best way, but he has no car, & using someone else's would look suspicious. We could try posing his death to make it look like a suicide."

L"I'm still not sure I like where we're going."

S"Do you see another option?"

L"...No."

*Due to the powers of plot convenience, she stops a bus heading out of the forest. The driver opens the door & reveals himself to be dressed in some kind of camp uniform.*

<Hey, you okay?>

Azuma looks at the paper. Not that it means squat.

"No, I've got to get to the hospital," Astarte stepped quickly onto the bus. "I'm hurt."

"Do whatever you must do," Grimm rumbled without betraying any emotion. "I only ask that you consider killing him with less pain than the others. I believe he is devout at heart, but steered wrong by fearful ignorance."

The paper read; Sorry for everything. I'm going to be dead soon. I'm here in the hospital, in [room number]. If you want to do it, you can. Maybe I can tell you something useful

*Eve uncovers her mouth and looks around at the others briefly*

<If we wanted to make it look like a suicide we might want use a more conventional method than an undetectable poison.>

*Tirea rolls around a bit, then yawns and opens her eyes*

<Hey Azuma, did I miss anything?>

S"The most likely methods would be gunshot, drug overdose, or hanging."

Driver<Yeah, you look like you've got a few bruises. Well, come aboard, it's mostly just supplies in here that we're taking into town to shut the camp down until next year. Is there anything else we can do to help? What happened?>

R"Hey, whatever God wants to happen, amirite?"

*He holds up the Bible.*

R"I've illustrated some examples, if you wanna see'em."

Eve:<He does have a gun. We could make it look like he shot himself with it.>

"Fell in a ditch," Astarte sat down. "Please just drive."

"Is there a reason for this visit?"

S"Perhaps. But the best way to do that would be to literally force him to shoot himself, which is difficult. Likewise, if we force pills down his throat, it may be possible to tell."

*Lilith stands up, leaning on the table.*

L"Well, that's a sign that we should just forget this, then! Why aren't we doing anything about Nero, Astarte, & Roatha?"

S"What is there TO do? They were taken by the Shadow to who knows where."

Dr. Schreiber<And please don't speak so loudly. We're trying NOT to draw suspicion to ourselves.>

Th"Even so, killing the priest won't solve anything. Ira can always find people to guard the church. We should either look for our answers somewhere else, or look while he's away--he can't stay in there 24/7, after all."

"Just checking in, & apparently for good reason. But I can always find some other stooge to replace Steven."

*He narrows his eyes.*

"Or anyone else. If you catch my drift."

<Well...alright, then....>

*He closes the doors & starts off back to town. Also in the bus are a pair of similar-looking women, differentiated mainly by the fact that one's ponytail is blond & the other is brunette, & a fat ginger man with curly hair, all wearing similar uniforms & looking to Astarte with concern, but mostly the seats are occupied by canvas bags which presumably carry various types of equipment.*

Azuma: "The contents of this sheet of paper."

"What's in these bags? Specifically." Astarte asked without directing the question to anybody in particular.

"You needn't talk to me like some kind of thug," Grimm put the bible under his arm. "If I was not inclined by our Lord to join you, I would not have done it, my loyalty to Him exceeds everybody else."

Eve:<Seeing as what happened last time some of us decided to check out the church, we will need to be extra careful if we take that route.>

*Ginger guy turns to answer.*

Ginger<Camp stuff. Basically everything from tents to sporting equipment to cooking supplies. Just stuff we're bringing back after the last autumn group has moved out.>

*He indicates the blood around his mouth.*

L"Of course. But, if we're not going to do anything else today, we promised Tirea & Azuma some emergency phones."

Schreiber<Ah, yes, I heard that the police confiscated them. You'll want to get them out of hospital custody as soon as possible. You may even have to go on the run.>

L"That's what I suggested, but everyone told me it was a terrible idea."

S"I'm doing pretty well so far."

*Thiera wrinkles her nose at someone who has clearly washed out of a public bathroom's sink.*

He hands it over despite it being irrelevant.

Astarte did not respond.

"Everybody is expendable," Grimm moved slightly aside. "I won't ask where that came from."

*Eve looks at Thiera*

<I'd rather be on the run than dead.>
