Episode Ten: Play Time

Down below a beach is formed on the edge of a forest apart of a massive continent that almost seems to cover most of what was once primarily ocean.

Tired, MagnaAngemon and Nefertimon land on the beach and revert to their Rookie forms, Salamon being buried under Azuma & Hitomi.

Azuma: "This might be a nice change in scenery."

*They land & revert.*

*Everyone lands and reverts*

Terriermon:<There might be food here too.>

Not that they'll know as no one has made an effort to go anywhere else, so Azuma & Hitomi are the first to head into the forest with their partners.

Taiyo hangs back looking rather down, Renamon stands beside her, ears drooping.

*Euryale senses that something is missing & looks back. She approaches Taiyo.*

E"What's wrong?"

*Aroma, Roatha, & the partners also stop to look back.*

*Eve walks near Roatha, while the siblings and there partners walk together*

Taiyo: "We couldn't do anything in that fight."

In the forest, the ground is covered with grass, dirt, and leaves as expected as well as the odd gear that seems to hace fallen from a tree where they appear to grow as well as leaves.

There are street signs in multiple languages scattered about, some even sticking out of the trees themself and lastly the occasional petrified Digimon staring at them in horror.

Further ahead they can hear the clashing of blades.

E"What are you talking about? He's dead, isn't he?"

*They head towards the sound*

Taiyo: "You scolded Aroma for not doing anything in a fight. Why should I be any different?"

In the process, they knock over a petrified Biyomon, breaking it. They come to a clearing where Ogremon, Leomon's whitish blue counterpart and a trio of Kyukimon are engaged in battle.

Panjyamon parries a swing from Ogremon while exhaling a freezing blast at a Kyukimon, freezing it then shattering it with a kick.

Panjyamon: "Even when I'm distracted you can't land a hit on me, Ogremon."

Ogremon: "We didn't all have the luxury of Digivolving!"

Panjyamon: "You must train harder then."

Ogremon turns on a Kyukimon with an Overlord Fist and finishes it off with a hard swing from its club.

The two each turn on the last Kyukimon and destroy it with an Overlord Fist and Ice Beast Fist.

E"I don't know what you're talking about."

A"Didn't you de-digivolve early in the fight?"

R"Yeah, it's not like that can be helped."

Kylie:< Uh, hello there?>

*She waves*

Taiyo: "Before we went out to sea."

Ogremon: "The runts made it this far. Losing a few in the process."

Azuma: "They're not far from here."

Panjyamon: "This would mean you've managed to defeat MetalSeadramon. Puppetmon is the current ruler of this domain, between Ornismon and TyrantKabuterimon's territory."

E"So then there's no problem. Come on, let's go."

*She puts an arm around Taiyo. Roatha looks around.*

R"Where the Hell did those other nitwits go?"

*Eve walks back and waves at the stragglers*

Cameron:<So he's our next target then?>

Taiyo: "Okay."

Azuma: "Presumably."

Panjyamon: "Assuming you can make it to its lair. We have yet to be able to find it ourselves."

Ogremon: "It doesn't help we have to deal with stray Kyukimon that get too close to TyrantKabuterimon's hive or Ornismon's nest. Or if that Knight hadn't gone and lost its vision."

Panjyamon: "Puppetmon seems to be able to manipulate the forest floor. I suspect that's why we haven't been able to find its lair. Whenever we got too close we'd be moved away from it as if we were on a conveyer belt."

*They head off.*

Cameron:<They always seem to come to us. You sure he won't?>

They arrive to see the others conversing with Panjyamon and Ogremon.

Ogremon: "They aren't as hot headed as MetalSeadramon."

Panjyamon: "Neither Ornismon nor TyrantKabuterimon have seen Puppetmon, but its forces are frequently trying to get further into their territory."

Ogremon: "And those two would rather stay out of any conflicts leaving us to deal with it. How am I supposed to defeat Panjyamon when I have to protect a Biyomon or Tentomon that wandered too far from home?"

Panjyamon: "You don't."

E"Can't you find it by flying?"

Biyomon:<So what do we do?>

Ogremon: "Of course, I'll just flap my arms and take flight."

Panjyamon: "Calm down, Ogremon. This domain is made up of several forests from around the Digital World. Misty Trees, Deep Jungle, and the Unwavering Forest. Some regions are much denser than the others and hand have a thick canopy. Even of we could fly, there is no guarantee we'd be able to see Puppetmon's lair."

Azuma: "Who was that Knight you spoke of?"

Ogremon looks as if it had just been insulted.

Ogremon: "UlForceVeedramon. Not that knowing that would do any good. You'd be better off asking TyrantKabuterimon to join the fight."

R"Whatever. I'm just going to wait over there until someone stops bitching & tells me what they want us to do."

*Roatha heads over to a tree.*

*Biyomon digivolves*

Saberdramon:<We might as well take a look. All abroad?>

The Digivolution doesn't last long before reverting back to Biyomon.

Ogremon: "What'd you do, exhaust yourself in a series of fights?"

Salamon: "They get distracted easily and tend to forget important things like food even though that was the first thing they said before coming here."

Meanwhile Roatha up and vanishes into thin air, something he'll be lucky if anyone else notices.

Roatha reappears in another section of forest, a wide clearing where very little sunlight breaks through the canopy above. He hears a voice that's hoarse like whoever is speaking has been smoking for several years.

???: "Isn't this a nice getaway? Think of everything you don't have to worry about now. A partner who's probably too busy staring into space to notice you're gone, the drama most others are caught up in to notice those around them, and a trio that believes swearing is a sign of maturity. Or maybe it isn't a trio, it's difficult to tell them apart."
