Old Ones Return (VI)

*The whale abruptly stops ascending & jerks violently to & fro several times before they find themselves inhaled & blown out of its blowhole like a cartoon, to see only Leviamon's jaws about to chomp down on them. Before it can finish the deed, Baihumon emerges from the water in a tumultuous wave, biting & clawing into his side. Regulumon jumps on his back as he goes, so that he can use his sword shockwaves to snipe the Gizumon trying to attack Baihumon. Thiera & DemiDevimon biomerge to avoid falling back into the water & Gomamon becomes Zudomon to carry Tsune, but Euryale & Agumon for some reason fail to do anything & are promptly thrown around by the waves from the 2 Mega Digimons' battle. About 50 feet away, MetalSeadramon pokes his head out of the water & fires a nose laser at him.*

MS<RIVER OF POWER!>

*Zudomon tries to swim after them, but quickly finds himself ensnared by a MarineDevimon, its D-Reaper data rapidly burning holes into his shell. He yowls & releases an ice wave to get free, only to find himself in a grappling match with a giant, humanoid D-Reaper agent which fires heat beams out of its various mouths to prevent that trick.*

Ts"I think they were prepared for us after all!"

*Those in the air find themselves promptly surrounded by Gizumon & Thiera is forced to enter Burst Mode so that she can use her javelin to block all of the blasts coming at her. Down below, various MegaSeadramon make short work of a pod of Whamon with their Lightning Javelins, Leviamon absorbing the data, growing inside, & pushing Baihumon under the water.*

*The Whamon dives. They soon find themselves far away from the sound of explosions, though at the expense of their ear canals. IceLeomon uses his fist power to light the space, but looks away from it, back the way they came.*

IL<...Is this what it's like to feel the cold?>

*Sakuyamon quickly degenerates into Taiyo & Renamon & sinks into the deep blue sea. But this actually turns out lucky for them, as some Gizumon are descending, & deleting any Digimon that they can see, but Taiyo & Renamon are spared as they find themselves swept further out to sea. The downside, of course, is that now they're alone at sea, with no craft, & Renamon has lost consciousness, some of her fur falling off & dissolving into data.*

*Kotemon digivolves to Knightmon, grabbing Lyra, then attempting to land on Baihumon's back to help attack the Gizumon. Both Cameron and Kylie biomerge with their partners, Ornismon uses Tempest to blow the Gizumon away while Dianamon fires an Arrow of Artemis at Leviamon*

The three Digimon go Ultimate and attack with Gizumon.

Taiyo swims after Renamon.

*Digimon Wiki tells me that Knightmon can lob GETSUGA TENSHOS so that makes a lot more sense. With the Gizumon taken care of, Ophanimon Burst Mode uses crystals to knock Zudomon's attackers loose from him. The badly injured Zudomon tries to make some distance as he blasts the D-Reaper agent with electricity. The D-Reaper Agent ultimately dissolves from these attacks. MarineDevimon absorbs the data & follows, spitting ink from its mouth as its largest tentacles dart towards Zudomon. Elsewhere, MetalGreymon is floundering around in the ocean, his mechanical arm busted up & Euryale in his biological arm.*

A<You okay?>

"Yes--but why couldn't we Biomerge?"

A<Your mind isn't on this fight.>

MS<Can't Digivolve? Good. Then let's take care of you before that changes!>

*MetalSeadramon rushes at them. Leviamon doesn't seem to notice the arrow in its side & shoots lightning out of its mouth, causing the sea to glow & spark. Incidentally, since Baihumon was pushed under, Knightmon & Regulumon are now in the water.*

*Renamon does not regain consciousness & continues losing data, though it's at a fairly slow rate. She occasionally moans & kicks, possibly having a nightmare. Taiyo spies a ship in the distance. It appears to be a sailing vessel, circa 1800s.*

*Ornismon fires a beam of energy from his beak at MS and moves to intercept him. Dianamon flies around the lightning and moves to strike Leviamon in the back. Meanwhile, Knightmon attempts to swim and keep both his and Lyra's head above the water*

Angewomon & MagnaAngemon fire arrows and energy blasts at Leviamon while Cyberdramon attacks from behind with Desolation Claw.

Taiyo attempts to take Renamon to the vessel, possibly dragging her.

*Electricity surges through Knightmon & Lyra. The former degenerates to Rookie & the latter promptly goes limp, save for her uncontrolled twitching. Regulumon grabs them, having offset the energy with his own attacks, but he's still shimmering as if his data is about to fall apart. Leviamon shrinks from the attacks & waves its tail at everything trying to buttfuck it, but a blast of white light hardens the beast & the water around it into metal &, as it sinks into water, it begins rusting away. Meanwhile, MetalSeadramon leaps through the air to avoid the attacks & crashes into MetalGreymon, coiling tightly around him & positioning its cannon right in front of Euryale.*

MS<Game over for you. But for me, it's only just begun!>

*MetalSeadramon proceeds to absorb Leviamon's data. As it grows larger, its metal plates expand & it becomes GigaSeadramon.*

GS<Kill them!>

*D-Reaper agents of the Pendulum Feet type drift in from the sky, as well as a trio of the giant ones from before. The Pendulum Feet aim to mob the Digimon while the giant D-Reaper agents bombard them with lasers. Zudomon is paralyzed by the ink & then strangled by MarineDevimon's tentacles until it reverts. Ophanimon flies around & waves her javelin, her attackers meeting a fiery end either at her blasts or the wake from her wings, until GigaSeadramon surprise attacks by opening ports along its back & firing dozens of target-seeking anti-aircraft missiles at the Digimon. As Thiera & Wizardmon fall towards the sea, Wizardmon regaining consciousness to surround them with an energy barrier, GigaSeadramon begins monologuing & charging its laser.*

GS<That fool thought he could be one of us just because he got us inside Hypnos. Let him enjoy his watery grave! Now that power he so desperately wanted is in the hands of someone who can actually use it! You see--in the end, we all get what we deserve!>

*Meanwhile, more missiles are headed for any Digimon still in the sky, who also have to deal with the attacks from the D-Reaper Agents. Some of them nail Baihumon in the face as it tries to rise from the ocean.*

GS<Are you sure you want to waste time saving these pathetic humans? Have you forgotten what you're trying to protect?>

*GigaSeadramon points with its tail. Far below the shimmering waves, they can just barely make out that the MegaSeadramon have surrounded the sanctuary & are blasting lightning bolts into it.*

*After a long & difficult journey while being buffeted in the face by saltwater, Taiyo comes close enough to the ship to notice 3 peculiar facts about it. Firstly, the Jolly Roger is flying at the top mast, secondly, it's half-sunk, but not visibly damaged, & thirdly, the keel is carved in the shape of a sea serpent, with the bow terminating in a realistic rendition of a MegaSeadramon's head, complete with bronze skullcap & steel spike. Or perhaps they only appear to be made of bronze & steel. In this world, who can say?*

MagnaAngemon opens Heaven's Gate to draw the missiles in while Angewomon fires arrows at other missiles. Cyberdramon flies about attacking the D-Reaper Agents with Desolation Claw.

Taiyo hauls Renamon aboard, hopefully there's a part that isn't flooded.

*Kotemon hangs on to Lyra for dear life. Ornismon uses Cosmic Ray on destroy both the missiles and GS at the same time. Dianamon flies down and fires an Arrow of Artemis at MarineDevimon*

R<Hey, where you goin'? We're dead in the water if we don't cut off his reinforcements!>

Baihumon<Do not worry. Azulongmon & Zhuquaiomon should be attending to that matter.>

*The tiger dives. Sure enough, up above, around the sphere representing the real world, are bursts of fire & lightning that shut off the data streams. Regulumon shrugs & places Lyra & Kotemon on his back. As he swims towards the battle, Kotemon quickly finds out that Lyra isn't breathing. Someone should probably do something about that. GigaSeadramon simply hurls MetalGreymon in the way of the Cosmic Ray & adds his own blast. Fortunately, with MarineDevimon destroyed by an arrow to the face, Tsune & Gomamon are able to swim towards them.*

<"We'll save you!">

<BIOMERGE DIGIVOLUTION!>

*Plesiomon spits a torrent of water from its mouth at the River of Power. Wizardmon freezes the water, & the result is enough to save Euryale & Agumon from vaporization. They fall into the water as GigaSeadramon disappears into a blast of steam. Cyberdramon is making short work of the weaker D-Reaper agents, but one of the larger ones swats at him. The other 2 strafe around the Gate of Destiny, firing lasers at it, apparently trying to destroy it. GigaSeadramon fires a blast from the steam cloud, which Plesiomon narrowly avoids by diving.*

*Taiyo is just barely able to stretch up to the deck & drag Renamon on board. The whole deck is unflooded, it's just that the entire ship itself is sagging deeper into the water than it should be, with odd planks that seem to extend directly into the sea. Taiyo can't see anyone aboard the ship, but she can see a full complement of supplies--cannons pointing outwards, barrels lashed to the side of the ship, ladders headed to the upper levels & masts, a table with built-in-navigation equipment next to the steering wheel, & the occasional mop & basin of water.*

Kotemon:<Help! Lyra's not breathing!>

*He cries and waves his arms. Dianamon heads down to pick up Euryale and Agumon, while Ornismon fires into the steam cloud with Cosmic Ray again*

Dianamon:<Are you both alright?>

*She flies down towards Kotemon and Lyra*

Cyberdramon blocks and retaliates with a slash from its other claw.

Angewomon fires arrows at the D-Reaper Agents attacking the gate not that it matters much what happens to it. MagnaAngemon fires energy blasts them.

Taiyo sets to try and heal Renamon with her D-Power.

E"We've been worse. Of course, we've also been better."

*Euryale uses Hyper Wing on Agumon & Gorgon Armor on herself by holding both cards in her card-slashing hand.*

Reg<Are you kidding?! Whattaya want me to do about it, CPR on a rock?!>

*The D-Reaper Agents can't sustain that many attacks, so they dissolve. The Cosmic Ray misses GigaSeadramon, because GigaSeadramon was never there. He bursts out of the water & bites Plesiomon in the neck, also coiling around the Mega.*

GS<While you're wasting time with me, your families are getting worked over. Now that we're off-record, how about we help each other out? You get to leave here alive & take care of the rest of the BioHybrids, & once I have enough data to defeat the Nutty Professor, the new government leaves the Digital World alone. What do you say?>

*It's such a slow process that it's debatable if she's making any progress at all. Then, from all around the ship, Taiyo can hear things sloshing out of the water & climbing on board.*

They direct their attacks towards GigaSeadramon.

Taiyo begins panicing, hoping that it might speed up the process.

*Ornismon flies over and claws at GS's eyes, while Dianamon passes Euryale to Agumon*

Ornismon:<We would be fools to trust you!>

Dianamon:<I don't know CPR ether! MagnaAngemon, can you heal her?>

*She shouts the last part at the angels*

Reg<That would be best. Take 'em!>

*Seeing everyone coming for him, GigaSeadramon says fuck that, blasting through Plesiomon's neck & diving. Plesiomon promptly degenerates back into Ikkakumon as GigaSeadramon's voice gurgles up from the ocean.*

GS<How pathetic, defeated so soon after Digivolving to Mega. I wonder--if I'd cut your head off, would it have killed you both instantly?>

*Wizardmon claps her hands, causing the sea to glow red & part, leaving GigaSeadramon flopping around in the mud. This uses the last of her power, so she degenerates to DemiDevimon & she & Thiera fall towards GigaSeadramon as their barrier dissolves. GigaSeadramon fires missiles at everyone surely about to attack him & opens his jaws, preparing to devour Thiera & DemiDevimon. Regulumon readies his sword to probably cut a missile & fires a Fist at GigaSeadramon, though it doesn't seem to do anything. Agumon lifts Euryale & flies off, Euryale using Aurora Force so that he can blast missiles with Lightning.*

*Somehow, it doesn't. A dozen or so Mermaimon then climb onto the deck, anchors strapped to their backs & dripping water everywhere.*

The three evade, MagnaAngemon going off to wherever he's being called to while Angewomon fires arrows at GigaSeadramon and Cyberdramon dive bombs towards the falling organ sack and dillhole.

*Ornismon dives down, firing a Cosmic Ray at GS while grabbing the pair in his talons before flying away. Dianamon uses her arrows to destroy the missiles coming towards both herself and Ornismon*

Kotemon:<Save her! I'll do anything!>

D<Hey, can everyone just stop firing within feet of our faces!?>

*If Kotemon can promise that, then he can Biomerge. And, if Angewomon is good, then maybe someday she can, too. Fortunately, nobody hits each other, & I will assume that Cyberdramon dodges the Cosmic Ray as a reflex. The blast bashes into GigaSeadramon, melting a small segment of his armor.*

GS<Activate program: Hyperspeed!>

A<Man, this guy just won't go down.>

T"With all of the data that he's absorbed, he's much stronger than an ordinary Mega, or even the other BioHybrids! Plus, we don't know where his Digivice is!"

*Not having much to work with, Thiera uses Radiant Fate on DemiDevimon as she talks. DemiDevimon looks hers glowing ass over.*

E"I'm gonna guess his left fin!"

D<The Hell is this gonna do?>

*So Agumon tries shooting some lightning at GigaSeadramon, but of course the serpent evades & swings his tail at them. Euryale deploys her katar & both scream as Euryale's arm goes limp & the tip of GigaSeadramon's tail nearly falls off. GigaSeadramon grits its teeth & fires more missiles which, of course, speed towards all of the Digimon much faster than before.*

*They do. As they slither across the deck, some of the Mermaimon behind her withdraw rope. The ones in her line of sight attempt to distract her by somehow manifesting gold bishie sparkles & variously smiling coyly, flipping their hair, fluttering their eyelashes, &/or rubbing their hands up their stomachs & chests.*

They take evasive maneuvers, the two with ranged attacks making use of them.

The rape fish coming at her make her panic more, shaking the D-Power to hurry it up.

*Ornismon uses Tempest to blast away the missiles, then uses Cosmic Ray on GS's left fin, while Dianamon fires an Arrow of Artemis at it.*

*Glowing pink light surrounds the pair, revealing Crusadermon*

*Crusadermon flies around GS using Scarlet Tempest, making sure to avoid the blasts being fired at GS*

*We'll say the whirlwind prevents GigaSeadramon from moving so that it's pelted by attacks, including its own missiles. The beast twitches & seizes & out of its broken fins, tail, back, & mouth, emerge Leviamon's claws, tails, fins, & jaws, respectively.*

GS<This--this can't be-->

???<But it is!>

*The monster's voice becomes Leviamon's, only much deeper than before.*

Leviamon<You awaken me, & then pour into me the minds of humans armed with your greatest defenses? Do you humans seek Hell?>

*The sea starts spinning around them, creating a crimson vortex. Baihumon jumps out of nowhere, but GigaLeviamon tosses him aside as it begins to sink. Baihumon retaliates with its mouth beam, but the monster breathes fire to intercept, & giant, twisted chunks of metal crash into the sea, the sanctuary below sustaining massive damage & only surviving due to the combined attacks of various Digimon pushing the wreckage back. Ikkakumon opts to grab GigaLeviamon with its jaws.*

IK<DON'K LECH ICH GECH AWAY!>

A<He's right, they were too hard to defeat the first time, we can't fight them again.>

*So, wincing, Euryale slashes the Snow Agumon card & Agumon tries to hold it back by freezing the water twisting around it. Regulumon joins Ikkakumon in holding it back.*

*A Mermaimon seizes Taiyo's arms & twists them behind her back, another beginning to wrap rope around them. Something similar happens with her ankles. Various Mermaimon start whacking her hand with their tails to try to knock away her D-Power.*

*Everyone grabs hold of GigaLevimon to prevent his escape*

The archangels fly up, pelting the monster with attacks while Cyberdramon dives down, the Knight's Device appearing when Hideki slashes the card and Cyberdramon goes to stab that fucker in the eye.

Taiyo squirms, trying to get the D-Power back on Renamon and away from the rape fish.

Taiyo: "Renamon, wake up!"

*Leviamon finally begins to dissolve into data.*

Leviamon<Daemon...Belphemon...the rest...is up to you....>

*The sea finally begins to settle back to normal, illuminated by a sky filled with billions of bits of glowing data. After hearing a gunshot, Thiera, Euryale, & their partners look to a fight going on on a small, craggy island down below.*

*Meanwhile, a man with long, matted dark hair washes up on the shore. He's wearing one of the mercenary outfits, the only difference being that his cloak is red. He looks up to find a gun being pointed in his face by another man, young, with prematurely gray hair, wearing a Hypnos suit.*

Dark-haired man<What the Hell, you're still alive?>

Gray-haired man<You were going to double-cross us!>

*The dark-haired man grabs the gun & twists it away from his face. The gray-haired man pulls the trigger in surprise. The dark-haired man draws his machete from his side with his other hand, cutting the Agent's stomach.*

Dark-haired man<You mean like you double-crossed Yamaki? Grow up, Hod. Why do you think guys like me hire mercenaries like Senthose? To kill leaders & take their countries. That's what we do.>

*The Agent collapses on the ground, holding his stomach, & spits up a bit of blood. He glares up at the mercenary, eyes bulging.*

Hod<Yesod--you bastard!>

Yesod<Become a ghost in the network, & join the rest of the trash data.>

*He quite literally stabs Yesod in the back. After yanking the blade out, he turns & glares up at the team that beat him.*

*The D-Power is knocked from her hand. More Mermaimon grab her shoulders, arms, & legs to secure her.*

Mermaimon<Stop struggling, human! We don't want to hurt you, but we will if we have to!>

*A Mermaimon demonstrates this by yanking hard on one of her pigtails.*
