Patamon and Salamon go Ultimate and fire arrows and lasers at the bad guys. Maybe it'll be convincing, but probably not.

*Kurata's forces being rather far away, they don't really hit anything.*

*By this point, Kurata's forces are close enough that the Cannonbeemon start firing lasers into the city. The ring above it glows, spinning to gather more clouds, which rumble & flash as they spiral together.*

*Cameron and Biyomon biomerge, Ornismon then hovers above Ceresmon and prefers to intercept the Cannonbeemon*

*They do, in fact, come upon Mervamon sifting through the rubble. When she spots them, she starts backing away, though Black Gatomon runs towards her on all fours.*

*The air force keeps coming, their attacks becoming more accurate as they get closer. The other flying Digimon start firing.*

E"They know we can't match their firepower...change of plans, we should take the refugees away from here & leave Jupitermon to deal with his own problems."

*She points up to the storm-generating ring.*

E"Someone destroy that thing, please."

G<That's rather harsh, don't you think?>

A<He brought this on himself.>

Dianamon:<We would be leaving him to die, or worse, to be converted.>

*Ornismon sends his mouth laser at the approaching CannonBeemon*

Hideki: "Are you okay?"

Ornismon is probably their best bet at destroying the the ring thing, so the two keep firing at the Cannonbeemon.

E"Yeah, that's the idea. If nobody else is going to do it, then we will."

*The air force reaches the mountain that the city is on & begins to surround it, still firing into the city. The refugee Digimon scream & begin flying in every which direction. Agumon & Euryale Biomerge.*

<"Everyone else should continue holding off Kurata's forces while the refugees get on Ceresmon.">

*Tsune & Gomamon nod. They also Biomerge, flying out to spit water at the enemies.*

O<"Why are you?">

*BlackGatomon looks up from her position of nuzzling Mervamon's foot.*

BG<Yeah, what're you doin' way out here?>

Merva<I--came out here to find new land when my Kingdom was destroyed.>

O<"So where are the rest of your subjects?">

Merva<...Searching other regions.>

*Ornismon flies up and begins firing on the storm generator. Dianamon watches for a moment before taking to the air*

*Dianamon begins sending some arrows at the CannonBeemon*

*Lyra flops down on the ground*

Hideki: "Why abandon your domain when you can rebuild?"

*The ring is thin enough that it breaks after a single shot, sending out an enormous pulse of lightning & wind in all directions. Thinking quickly, WarGreymon enters Burst Mode & uses a Terra Force to shield them from the blast. The Cannonbeemon are blown back as their weaker support Digimon are obliterated. Most of Jupitermon's air force is also destroyed, though some of them fly back into the palace. Of course, the refugees flock towards. When everything settles, Kurata's forces begin moving back into position as Jupitermon & Junomon emerge onto the deck of their palace.*

Jupitermon<COME AND SUFFER YOUR FINAL JUDGMENT!>

*Bashing his hammer into the ground, he sends a bolt of lightning into the clouds, causing them to darken & shoot lightning bolts down at the Tamers.*

Merva<Rebuild from what? The tunnels were completely collapsed. Bagramon overran the place.>

*Lyra's D-Power starts beeping.*

Hideki: "Bagramon's gone. MaloMyotismon's gone. There's no one left. You're not going to find anything here."

*Lyra checks it*

*Dianamon goes burst modes as well, moving to avoid the lightning, then responds with ice blasts. Ornismon fires on the hopefully weakened CannonBeemon*

O<"Didn't you say that you were Lilithmon's second-in-command?">

Mervamon<...Why, yes. I thought it only fitting to build our new kingdom over her resting place.>

*The Digimon Analyzer clearly identifies Black Gatomon, but it keeps alternating between Mervamon & Leviamon.*

*WarGreymon uses Great Tornado to close in on Jupitermon. Seeing as she is in Burst Mode & has greater control over her fire, she duplicates the twister, closing in on him in a 3 pronged formation. Junomon moves in front of him, twirling her staff. From its gem, blue lightning emerges in the shape of peacock feathers, which waves around them to form a shield. By the time WarGreymon breaks through, she is severely slowed. She blocks Jupitermon's one-two hammer combo, but each blow sends lightning into the sky, causing the clouds to build. Curiously, they also inscribe symbols on her Brave Shield in the form of an eagle circumscribed by a ring of lightning. She is also able to counter his kick with one of her own. A contingent consisting of a Shakkoumon, Shadramon, MegaKabuterimon, & Sylphimon emerge to back him up, surrounding WarGreymon & attacking with their respective projectiles. Ceresmon assists in the destruction of the Cannonbeemon by flinging rocks from her wings & fruits with a corrosive acid.*

Monodramon growls because things flickering is never a good sign of anything.

Hideki: "Calm down, Monodramon."

Presumably the others are a-ok, so Sakuyamon flies off to conjur fox spirits to assault the Digimon attacking WarGreymon.

Lyra:<BlackGatomon, come back here. I don't think she's the real Mervamon.>

*Since WGM has Jupitermon pretty much under control for the moment, Dianamon charges Junomon, swinging her scythe at her chest and sending an ice blast at Junomon's head. Ornismon continues firing on the CannonBeemon*

BG<What are you saying, you think I don't know my own Big Sis?!>

O<"What do you mean, Lyra?">

*Beelzemon leans over.*

Beelzemon<Oy, she's possessed by Leviamon!>

*In predictable cliche villain vashion, LeviaMervamon quickly bends down to pin Black Gatomon to her chest, then holds the blade to her throat.*

BG<What are you--!?>

L/M<Silence! Even if they don't care for you, you will still make a serviceable shield!>

*Ceresmon blasts a fruit that explodes & rains daggers down on the Cannonbeemon. The Angemon-species join in, firing blasts. The Sirenmon orbit around Ceresmon Medium, singing their [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which sends notes ricocheting throughout the Cannonbeemon ranks, shearing through each Digimon they encounter & causing an explosion. The remaining foes are destroyed within seconds.*

*When they get close, the seals on WarGreymon glow before exploding into lightning, blasting her & her would-be helpers. This is also joined with lightning from the sky as well as Jupitermon & Junomon each aiming an attack from either side.*

Junomon<You shall not hurt my husband!>

Jupitermon<Thus, I smite you, & bring an end to your treachery!>

*Plesiomon turns, releasing a sound wave from her mouth. The notes from the Sirenmon seem to be drawn to her attack, creating a powerful spiral.*

Sakuyamon right themselves and attempt to shield themself and WarGreymon from whatever incoming attacks.

Hideki: "I said we would rescue Mervamon. And that extends to those that were close to her."

Lyra:<You're pathetic. You used to be a threat, but now look at you. Hiding behind a hostage like a weakling.>

*Dianamon reinforces Sakuyamon's shield with her own ice one. As soon as the shield serves its purpose, she sends a massive ice blast at Jupiter/Junomon. Seeing as the other enemies were defeated, Ornismon turns around and adds in his own blast as well*

*Of course, it's not long before Kurata sends out a second air force, which are presumably surprised when Ceresmon fires vines into the ground & an enormous wall of trees grows to stop them. Those which get past the trees find themselves whipped by giant vines covered in spikes. Those which manage to ensnare a target are then devoured by a Venus flytrap like mouth, which spews corrosive juice all over them.*

<"Just go, we'll make sure you escape!">

*Jupitermon counters their attacks with a surge of lightning from all over his body, entering Wrath Mode. Again, his voice sounds like thunder all around them.*

Jupitermon<THERE WILL BE NO ESCAPE! ALL SERVANTS, TO ME!>

*Instead of doing that, a hoard of rookie Digimon flee the castle from all available exits.*

Jupitermon<WHEN WILL YOU LEARN THAT I SHALL NOT ABIDE BY TREASON?! GO FORTH, MY ELITES, & DESTROY THOSE YOU CANNOT COMPEL TO FIGHT FOR THEIR LORD!>

*Because lightning is faster than ice, Jupitermon's previous attack took a huge toll on them, so WarGreymon took this time to slip out of Burst Mode. She now covers her ears because this fucker is loud. When she gets a chance, she lashes out with a blast of fire, which Junomon bats away with a lightning charged scepter. Following Jupitermon's orders, the other Digimon fly down & start firing on his fleeing subjects. Jupitermon begins pounding on the shield with a vicious sword combo, lightning striking it from both his body & the sky.*

<NO EVIL SHALL ESCAPE MY MIGHT!>

*LeviaMervamon ignores her struggling.*

<A temporary measure to ensure the rise of the Demon Lords!>

*He slashes the debris, releasing a wave of energy that blows most of it away & exposing a hole in the ground stained red by chaos, a purple Digi-Egg covered with bats sitting in the center. The Medulla shifts to hold its fangs over Gatomon's throat.*

O<"We have to stop him before he gets Lilithmon's data!">

Beelzemon<Can do! Primal Orb!>

*He reaches out with his claw, which stretches to extend a spherical shield over BlackGatomon, & pulls her away from LeviaMervamon. Ophanimon quickly transitions to Burst Mode, releasing a wave of energy from her spear. Once it fades, LeviaMervamon has seemingly vanished, only for the Medulla to burst from the ground & bite one of her wings. She yelps & nearly rips it off when squirming away on reflex.*

*Lyra and Kotemon biomerge, then Crusadermon attempts to cut the Medulla in half with one of their blades*

*Ornismon flies over the fleeing digimon, protecting them with his body while creating a whirlwind to bow the attacking digimon out of the sky. Dianamon continues to help shield herself, WarGreymon, and Sakuyamon*

Dianamon:<You're kidding, right? We can't leave you here!>

Angewomon and MagnaAngemon take off and attack the Digimon attacking those fleeing the scene.

Sakuyamon: "We will not lose you again."

Hideki & Monodramon Biomerge although rather than try to mutilate Mervamon, simply goes to pry the snake things jaws off Ophanimon.

<"I was talking to Ceresmon, no, YOU all stay here & cover ME!">

Jupitermon<NO MATTER HOW MUCH HELP YOU GET, IT WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE!>

*By focusing their attacks on a small area, they easily punch through the shield. Remembering what happened last time, WarGreymon ducks underneath them, grabbing Jupitermon's arm & shooting upwards with Great Tornado.*

*After being blown off-course, MegaKabuterimon fires a Horn Buster at Ornismon, Shakkoumon descends between Aangewomon & Magna Angemon while firing clay discs at the former & eye lasers at the latter, & Sylphimon creates a copy of herself that flies at Angewomon while the original spins in concert with Shadramon, creating an enormous firewhirl that quickly consumes a city block & keeps going.*

*BlackGatomon launches herself from Beelzemon's grasp & starts scratching at Crusadermon's face.*

BG<What are you doing?! Don't hurt her!>

*The Medulla had twisted out of the way & coiled around its attackers, before rearing up with its head to spray a purple mist out of its mouth down at them.*

O<"Make sure she doesn't get to the Digi-Egg!">

Beelzemon<Can do!>

*So while he runs after that, Ophanimon rushes to the aid of her friends.*

*Crusadermon grabs BlackGatomon with one hand and pulls her away from their face while grabbing at the Medulla just bellow the neck*

*Once the shield goes down, Dianamon immediately launches herself at Junomon, firing an ice blast with one hand and slashing at her with the other*

The two move to avoid the attacks, firing lasers and arrows at the attacks.

Sakuyamon flies up to join WarGreymon.
