Old Ones Return (VII)

Taiyo: "I don't know."

*Kylie and Lunamon look kind of upset. They walk back towards Tsune and Taiyo. Lyra heads back that way as well, while Cameron looks at Thiera*

Cameron:<Do you...want company?>

Th"It does not matter."

Ts"Okaaay...so, what are we going to do if we win? Just go home and try to pretend that none of this ever happened, & everything is normal?"

Taiyo: "That's not possible."

Kylie:<I haven't actually thought about it...>

Lyra:<We'll all be in therapy for the next ten years.>

*Kylie looks over at her, slightly annoyed*

Cameron:<I'll come with you then.>

Ts"I won't. I don't need it."

*She says nothing. Just continues walking around, staring absent-mindedly at the ground, & occasionally kicking some ash aside.*

*Cameron trails behind Thiera*

Lunamon:<What's therapy?>

Kylie:<It's where people go to talk about their problems...>

*Kylie looks away from Lyra, who was starting back at her*

Lyra:<Some of us need it more than others.>

Taiyo: "What's that supposed to mean?"

Renamon's ears fold back, not of her own volition, but thanks for getting Taiyo mad, Lyra.

*Eventually, Monitamon waddles up to them, its screen displaying "INCOMING MESSAGE FROM: HYPNOS-2." Thiera pushes a button on it &, sure enough, Yamaki's face comes up.*

Yamaki<We wanted to tell you that we are ready to begin the transfer from the Digital World to the human world when you are. Once we begin, it could take up to 45 minutes to complete. You should make sure you're standing somewhere that can easily be cleared once the beam comes down.>

*Tsune & Gomamon begin edging away.*

Lyra:<Calm down. We've all been through some tough times. There's nothing wrong with talking to someone about shit that's troubling you.>

Taiyo: "You're right. Sorry."

Renamon's ears begin to pick up, Lyra's face is less likely to be punched in.

Th"That is fine. Please begin."

*Meanwhile, Euryale & Agumon finally emerge, not looking all that different.*

*Kotemon glares at Renamon, adjusting his grip on his kendo sword. Lyra mutters something about the stigmatization of mental health treatment under her breath. Kylie and Lunamon get up when Euryale comes out*

Lunamon:<So...feeling better?>

Cameron:<Don't you wanna say goodbye to everyone first?>

Taiyo's mood has seemingly improved even if only slightly.

Taiyo: "How are you feeling?"

Th"Does anyone else really care?"

E"Maybe a bit better...what about the rest of you? Has everything been fine while I was busy meditating?"

Taiyo: "Um...well..."

Cameron:<What are you talking about? Everyone cares about you.>

*Euryale puts her fists on her hips as Agumon crosses his arms & taps his foot.*

E"...Well, is someone gonna answer me?"

Yamaki<Perhaps I should give you time to-->

Th"No. The sooner we complete this, the safer everyone will be."

Yamaki<...Very well, I will start the connection. Remember, you have at most 45 minutes to clear the site of the data stream & prepare for re-entry into the material plane.>

Lyra:<...Azuma and Hitomi learned how to biomerge.>

*Cameron's face falls slightly, Biyomon coming up behind him*

Biyomon:<We'll always be here for you. No matter what.>

Taiyo cringes.

Taiyo: "Thiers's not getting any better."

E"Well, then, guess we'd better go congratulate those 2, & try to cheer Thiera up."

A<If she hasn't left yet.>

E"Oh, right! Better do that first, then...that's her over there, right? Or is that Tsune?"

Ts"I'm behind you."

*Euryale looks over her shoulder.*

E"Oh. Hey, Tsune."

*Kylie and Lunamon jump to their feet*

Kylie:<Oh no! We have to go say goodbye before she leaves.>

*They run off after Cameron and Thiera*

Taiyo is both confused and worried about Euryale's sudden moodswings.

Taiyo: "Are you okay?"

OOC: There was no mood swing, Taiyo's just dumb.

*She looks back to Taiyo.*

E"As okay as I can be, given the circumstances, I guess. C'mon, let's go."

*So she starts following Kylie & Lunamon, holding her arm out over Taiyo's shoulders along the way. Gomamon hops up to Tsune from wherever he was before, I forget if he was still in the water or not.*

G<Are we going to?>

Ts"Why? What could we even say?"

Lyra:<Goodbye?>

*She rises slowly, Kotemon looking up at her*
