Golden Age: Revival

*They land on Thiera's roof, which unsurprisingly takes the weight. Near the empty space in which they landed is a door, presumably to her office.*

*Allina power walks to the door and opens it.*

Mimiru:<I bet there'll be armed guards on the other side of that door.>

"I'm betting on a dog monster."

*On the other side of the door is a nice, red-carpeted elevator. Once everyone is inside, Nero pushes the only floor button on there. When the doors next open, they're standing in a marble office with red carpet, a waterfall fountain, some couches, & black windows on all sides. Thiera is sitting at her desk, reading a book.*

<I knew you were coming, so I deactivated the security system. If you ever try to use my roof elevator without authorization again, you will receive an electric shock strong enough to knock you unconscious. Or kill you. Either way, I am not liable.>

"That's nice... I think."

[What did we come here for again? Something about that secret club, right?]

Allina: <So, rich lady, what do you know about the stinky vampire?>

<Actually, I hear that their odors are quite manageable.>

N"Don't play dumb with us!"

*Nero points the gladius at her.*

<I wouldn't dream of it. And you might as well put that little toy away. It's the middle of the day, it won't do anything for you.>

N"Well...it's still a sword."

*She turns a key on her desk & pulls a handgun out of her drawer, pointing it at the ceiling & waving it a few times. Then she puts it back in said drawer.*

<You really don't have a clue what you're doing, do you?>

Allina: <What are you even trying to accomplish?>

[She's got us there, we don't know what we're doing.]

"I'd guess take over the world, but I'm sure she's above such awful ideas which would be more fitting for that secret club that's not so secretive about hating her."

<You're all such children.>

*She props her feet on her desk.*

<I'm sure some of you have jobs. Why is that? To get money so you can own things. Do you think it's any different with me? I just have much more than you, due to savvy business choices. But some things I want, money just can't buy. At least not directly. That's why I joined the Illuminati. But they've outlived their usefulness to me, & now one of us must be eliminated. Of course, you already did in Cassander for me. Or Longinus, as you knew him.>

[I think our globe trotting adventures cost a few of us our jobs. Not being legally employed I am the exception.]

Mimiru:<There's still more of them then there are of you or us. And as Azuma said they're not very secretive about hating you for whatever reason.>

"We kind of found that out rather easily. For the life of me I don't know why they'd hate you."

[Not really, but I'm sure being something of a bitch isn't the entire reason.]

Allina: <So what do you know about the vampire?>

"That's a little vague. I'm lead to believe there are at least a few hundred by now. As for the Illuminati, at the top of their ranks, there are only 7 of them left. There'll be fewer if you get to them quickly."

Allina: <You want us to kill them and make it easier for you to get whatever it is you're trying to get. And we feel morally obliged to do it because they're evil.>

*Allina narrows her eyes and steps closer to Thiera.*

Allina: <You're good.>

"What's this "we" bit?"

Mimiru:<If you're part of the Illuminati then what the hell is the British Historical Society?>

[Seriously, the Illuminati? That's the stupidest thing ever. What's next, we'll be running all over France or the Vatican?]

<It's what they call a front. They gained it in a hostile takeover. At first it was to propogate history that would be favorable to their cause. But we all knew that one day, we'd be in the situation we're in now. Lands like Avalon would blow the lid off of their little fraternity, so they had to be closed off & controlled. Archaeology offered the perfect excuse to do that. But of course, none of us expected the very Underworld itself to open its gates. I imagine that taught them a lesson.>

*She sets her papers down & stands up. Removing the key from her desk drawer, she folds her hands behind her back & walks over to the waterfall.*

<I do not rely on such foolishness. I don't put all of my eggs in one basket. Or all of my soul in one egg, as in Koshkey's case. No. You will destroy the Illuminati because, if you don't, they will destroy you.>

Mimiru:<So we have to track down what I assume is a quirky miniboss squad?>

"I understand why you and Koshkey would want to destroy us, but what do the rest have against us? Is it some you mess with one of us you mess with us all brotherhood shit?"

<I find your naivity annoying. The Illuminati was Koshkey's idea. He knew, from ruling Russia, that it was simply impossible for one man to control the world. With Longinus gone, they've lost a lot of their influence in the Greece area. And I couldn't care less what you do after they're all dead.>

Allina: <Like that's not what I said.>

*The elevator doors open and young man wearing a turquoise metal chestplate and shoulder pads of the same color over a shirt, baggy jeans, fingerless gloves and boots all black, with white skin, short messy blond hair and blue eyes walks into the office, looking kind of stoic. He walks over to Thiera and turns around to face the group, staring at them.*

Allina: <This is what I'm freaking talking about. We have weird people like him walking around everywhere these days. What is he anyway, a bodyguard? 'Cause I thought you needed us to finish off the Illooneydudes.>

"That's all well and all, but before we track down the Quirky Miniboss Squad I have a question I'd like answered."

<They're far from quirky or less than a substantial threat. Does your question still apply?>

"I'd hope so. You wouldn't happen to have anything that could neutralize or at least hinder manticore venom, would you?"

[Longinus was totally quirky. Not much of a threat either considering Taiyo roughed him up something fierce.]

<You'll live.>

"You won't be offended if I don't believe you, right?"
