Digital Mayhem

*Tae walks inside and looks around.*

Tae: <Can I put her down on Euryale's bed or something?>

*Tsune opens the door to Euryale's room.*

T"Yeah. She's out right now. I don't know why the family left me alone in their house, but whatever."

Tae: <Okay, then.>

*He walks to the bed and puts her down with a smile before walking back out of the bedroom.*

Tae: <I should probably go outside now, I don't think they want me inside and it is their house.>

*Taiyo curls up into a ball mumbling something that sounds like "Stupid everything." While everything was going on upstairs Hitomi remained by the front door, Salamon sitting by her feet.*

Salamon:<I'm hungry.>

"I know, but there's nothing we can do about it."

*Tae walks downstairs and outside, glancing at Hitomi and blushing as he walks past her. He leans against the edge of the wall where they had been sitting by earlier, looking at her over his shoulder.*

*Tsune throws open the door.*

"Party at Euryale's!"

*Hitomi looks at her like she has no idea what's going on.*

"What?"

*Tae steps ahead of the front door and turns to Hitomi.*

Tae: <Hum, H-Hitomi? Can we talk?>

"I may be a bad guest, but leaving the door open is a line I won't cross, so get in here already."

"O...kay."

*Hitomi backs away from Tsune, standing beside Tae. Salamon stares at Tsune like she's off her rocker.*

Salamon:<Instead you're going to try and throw a party like a character in an eighties sitcom.>

Tae: <(Hawkmon, go inside and try to make sure Tsune doesn't hurt herself or the house.)>

*Hawkmon nods and flies inside past Tsune. Tae turns to Hitomi, blushing, and smiles awkwardly.*

"Yes. Yes I am. Now get in the house. You can make out in the guest bathroom."

Salamon:<Have fun partying by yourself.>

"What is it you want to talk about?"

*She looks at Tsune then back to Tae.*

"And where?"

Tae: <I don't know, want to go for a walk or something?>

*He distractedly points towards the street. Meanwhile, Hawkmon is raiding the fridge again.*

"...Okay."

*Tae slowly walks with her, staring at his feet.*

Tae: <So... I just tought maybe we could--well--Strange that there are evil Digimon here in the real world again, isn't it...?>

[Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.]

Salamon:<They're so awkward...>

*Salamon looks at Tsune like she expects her say or do something that she'll deem stupid. Not waiting for a response she wanders off upstairs.*

Tae: <Yeah... I thought so too...>

*He sighs.*

*Tsune closes the door.*

"...Watching her climb stairs is horrifying."

"Poets often use many words to say a simple thing."

*Upstairs Salamon enters Euryale's room where BlackGabumon is sitting on the floor beside the bed.*

Salamon:<How is she doing?>

BlackGabumon:<She stopped shivering awhile ago.>

Salamon:<That's good.>

*Taiyo's curled up under a dark, pink light.*

"Stupid Medusa. Stupid Euryale. Stupid me. Stupid everything. I never want to see them ever again."

*Taiyo tries to move, but doesn't succeed.*

"Oh well. I guess this is okay. The light's warm... But I don't feel warm. I feel... Nothing. I should feel upset, but I don't feel anything. Is this good or bad? I... I want it to be a good thing."

*Taiyo sighs and smiles.*

"Maybe when I wake up, everything will be okay."

[Okay. Okay. Okay. I can totally do this. She's not going to reject me. Hope. Actually, the Crest of Courage would be a lot more useful right now. Here goes. One. Two. Three.]

Tae: <You're pretty.>

*He widens his eyes, his face turning red.*

[What?! Kill me now.]

[What?! No one's said that about me before. I don't think I've ever been complimented on my appearance before.]

*She stares at him, face red, eyes wide in surprise.*

"Th... Thank you."

Salamon:<...So since both Hawkmon forgot we're guests here I'm gonna go and... Take whatever Hawkmon took from the fridge. You might want to do the same.>

[The odds of being black listed are pretty high, so I might as well get a free meal out of it.]

BlackGabumon:<Okay?>

*Salamon walks out.*

*He inhales deeply and stops walking. He turns to her and abruptly holds her hands.*

Tae: <I like you.>

*At this point his face starts going from very red to very pale as he looks into her eyes.*

Tae: <(...A lot.)>

*Hawkmon is walking out of the kitchen with a pack of popsicles. She smiles upon spotting Salamon.*

Hawkmon: <Hi there, partner. Popsicle?>

*Contrasting Tae's face, Hitomi's gets redder. She looks down at her shaking hands, biting her lip.*

[I want to stop blushing, but I can't! I don't know what to say. I want to say something, but I don't know what or if I can even say anything. I don't know how to describe what I'm feeling. It's happiness, warmth, uncerntainty, nervousness, and...]

*Tae feels something warm and wet fall on his hand. It makes a small, red dot. Hitomi looks up at him, her face its usual color with the exception of the blood running down her chin from her bottom lip.*

"I feel sick."

*Salamon hops down the stairs, mumbling something about having stubby puppy legs and takes the popcicle package in her mouth*

Salamon:<Thank you.>

*Failing to get it open, she nudges Tsune.*

Salamon:<You're the only one with fingers. Can you open this?>

*He widens his eyes, staring at her lip and then into her eyes.*

Tae: <H-Hitomi...!>

*He shakes his head and lets go of her right hand, turning back the way they came and taking a step forward.*

Tae: <Let's take you back home and maybe... hum... call a doctor?>

*He looks away from her and frowns briefly.*

[Is it my fault?]

*Hawkmon shouts from the kitchen.*

Hawkmon: <Why do humans keep dead birds in--Found more pizza!>

*Razz wakes up to find Allina sleeping with her head on his left shoulder. They're sitting on a wooden bench. He looks around at the deserted street and then up at the full moon. Patamon and Veemon are sleeping to his right.*

[...This isn't how it was supposed to go. Why is she here and not with them?]
