"That is good. I didn't really do anything today, though I did manage to start painting yesterday." Zell said, "I'm still amazed I can get paid so much to do what I love."

*The car comes out in a vast, featureless, paved room lit by spotlights. In the center is Vera standing in front of a giant, cyclopian robot held up by support struts. Netzach stops the car & unlocks the doors, then the 2 police get out & salute.*

T"Uh-huh. Say, do you have any idea how Paradigm is going to be collecting your art? Because I don't want any of them setting foot in my house except for Roger, & I'm not so sure about Roger."

*Hitomi slowly gets out of the car and looks at Vera for a brief moment before turning her attention to the Megadeus, staring into its eye.*

[Another Megadeus?]

*Vega sits up and looks at the alarm clock.*

"Slept longer than I should have."

*He gets out of bed and goes to the kitchen to make some breakfast/lunch.*

Topaz: <Well, can I speak to her?>

Zell shrugged, "You know, I don't actually know. I was just going to call them when I was done and figure it out from there." Zell said. "If you don't mind me asking, why don't you like Paradigm Head Office?"

<Ah. Good. Mizz...Hitomi, was it? We 'ave reeason to believe zhat zhis "Rasheverek" was targeting Dominus. We would like you to come over 'ere and see if zhe Megadeus responds.>

T"Well, as you might recall, Gordon's son Alex died a few decades back from what was essentially a really bad flu. Gordon himself is pushing 80, at least, so one of his executives will probably end up replacing him after he dies. And since Vera Ronstadt is responsible for the capture of at least 1 Megadeus, she's practically a shoe-in. She also has a long history of corruption. She's the reason there aren't quite 20 police officers outside of the domes & she's also detained a number of people who refused offers from Paradigm who later went missing under 'mysterious circumstances.' And if she lands that job, she'll not only be in charge of the police & the courts, she'll also be able to write laws. So, all in all, probably not a good time to get too friendly or unfriendly with Paradigm HQ right now."

"Responds?"

*Hitomi steps forward taking momentary glances away from the Megadeus to ensure she doesn't walk into anyone or anything.*

[It's like staring at the moon.]

Zell nodded, "Yea, lucky me then. Bad enough there was some guy going around killing artists, I get offered a job by PHO which puts me in danger if I accept, and is also risky to refuse." Zell let out a sigh, "I guess it doesn't matter now, too late for regrets."

*She hangs up and goes to sleep, leaving her brother watching TV in the living room.*

T"Right...Senthose...I looked him up. Turns out he worked in memory transplants. For Paradigm Industries, of course. Now that he's dead & everyone knows he was involved, his old colleague seems to have gone missing."

[Its eye is white... Like snow. I like snow. Kanrei. Kanrei means cold. Snow is cold. The moon is cold. Tsuki. Tsuki means moon. I know these words, but I don't know how or why. These words mean something to me somehow.]

"That doesn't exactly put me at ease." Zell said.

Luna is sitting at the station, staring at an empty table top and hoping for something to do.

T"I figured you'd want to know. It directly concerns you, doesn't it?"

<So, I've been thinking. The Megadeus that attacked the library the other day...it used exploding cords. The tomb of Michael Seebach had been forced open by explosions. Do you suppose it's possible that it was the same culprit?>

*The robot's eye starts to glow & a mechanical whirring sounds from inside it. A thin smile twists on Vera's lips.*

<Try giving it a command.>

*Hitomi takes a step back from the Megadeus.*

[What kind of command? Like one someone would give to a dog? Or...]

*She stares at it for a good minute and a half*

"Kneel?"

"Yes, you're right. It just doesn't put me at ease. A murderer's friends have gone missing, here is hoping they don't pick up where he left off." Zell said, "This is the same guy who had eyes like me right? You have any idea what that could be about?"

"I'm going out" Luna declared and walked off, getting a patrol car and heading out to see what she could see.

*The robot struggles to get free & the support structures start to fall over as it attempts to bend its knees.*

T"I'm afraid not. Aamon didn't appear to be doing any experiments on eyes."

*On a building near a stoplight, she sees some grafitti.*

An army of giants will descend,

Luna stops and looks at the graffiti on the wall.

Army of giants, huh? The Megadeus...? This is probably just some crazed reaction to the attack... Still, it's a little unsettling.

*The robot stops.*

*She looks away from the Megadeus towards Vera.*
