Dragon Wake (Sign-ups)

Many ages ago dragons walked amongst humankind. It was a different time back then. The age of sorcery and sword where words lost there meaning upon cold steel blades and raw magical energy. This world, Abelia, has long since forgotten those times. The change was brought on by a violent war between the dragons and humans. It started as a mild dispute between the human kingdom of Lacredo and one of the Holy Seven, the seven rulers of all dragonkind. The member of the seven, the Black Dragon Valenfer had wooed the queen of Lacredo from under the King's noise leading to the escalating conflict in which the king, in a fit of rage, murdered the queen provoking Valenfer into declaring war on all humanity. It was a bloody war that resulted in much death. However suffering the pain from love loss Valenfer embarked on a mad gambit to end the war. He released a disease upon the humans that was suppose to wipe them out instead the disease affected only the dragons and began slowly killing them off.

In order to save their race Valenfer and the other Holy Seven created a spell to lock all dragons into a human and mortal form. The disease was culled but at the cost of the war and the dragon's pride.

As the ages went by humans and dragons bred and bore fertile children. Over time the differences between dragons and humans vanished and the power of the dragons was thought to have been lost.

However the magic of the dragons was not lost...

Now Abelia is a modern and flourishing world much like Earth. The legends of old have all but been forgotten.

Yet children are being born with the dragon's magic manifesting; the old magic binding the dragon's form is weakening. A new age is about to begin as the the ancient memories of the dragons begin to wake.

Extra Information

The main setting of the game (beyond the name of the world) is a large city called Tristan City. Its a large metropolitan city though it holds pockets of the old world within. The most notable is a large forest/park at its center which is rumored to contain a hidden a shrine. The city has a large port. It also has a rather expansive entertainment district and shopping center. There are many private and public schools though the main ones of each are Tristan High located near the entertainment district and Alsford Academy which is located in the port district.

Though more information about them will be revealed in game I'll shed some light on the Holy Seven here as well. The seven (duh) members were as follows; Valenfer the Black Dragon, Melfjord the Gray Dragon, Alkanus the Red Dragon, Talbarn the Green Dragon, Tyleia the Blue Dragon, Garrenelt the Purple Dragon, and Karst the White Dragon. The Holy Seven were the seven dragons who possessed the strongest of elemental magic. Valenfer was a master of water, Melfjord could shape the earth, Alkanus held sway over fire, Talbarn commanded the wind, Tyleia was the mistress of the coldest ice, Garrenelt was the incarnation of lightning and the storm, and Karst held sway over both life and death. However in the end each of the seven fell to their greatest sin. Even after Valenfer's folly the other six too held their own sin. For Valenfer it was his lust, for Melfjord it was his insatiable hunger and gluttony, Alkanus fell prey to greed, Talbarn lost his way to unending envy, Tyleia was lulled off the path by sloth, Garrenelt's wrath consumed him, and even the paragon of justice Karst lost the battle with his pride. In the end even after they were locked in their mortal form the seven died not of old age but of their own vices.

However their legacy lives on in the children born of "True Blood". These children hold the potential to unlock magic the closest to the Holy Seven. To be born of true blood means not to stay pure as it may sound but is in fact simply something that refers to the bearer of the true blood having that blood awaken in them. While factors such as parentage do have a large effect on this (for example siblings will both have the true blood) it is an entirely random happening.

The magic itself is varied and need not be totally elemental in nature. There are many paths to take. However the power to use the magic creates both permanent and temporary physical changes in the user. The most prominent of the changes is the sharpening and defining of one’s eyes going reptilian over time. The pupils slit and irises change color into more vibrant shades. This is the only truly irreversible change and it happens slowly. All other changes (such as scale armor, claws, wings, or a tail) revert after using the magic.

Name: Clyde Serpentine

Gender: Male
Personality: Calm, quiet, can easily be angered or provoked, tends to distance himself from others. He has a much nicer side to him that he doesn't like to show to most, and not many people have ever seen him as a nice person before.
Background:

Clyde, for the most part, has lived a decent life. He was, however, bullied frequently when he was younger, due to being too nice of a person and being considered soft by his classmates, so they pushed him around a lot. Eventually, Clyde worked up the nerve to tell his dad about this, and the people who bullied him were later given detentions and the like. His dad eventually taught him how to not get bullied, and by that, he trained Clyde in the art of being a total douchebag to everyone. He is currently going to school in grade 11 at Tristan High, and is still, well, a douchebag.

Clyde's magical ability allows him to control gravity, being able to do such things as levitate, rip up the earth and have it revolve around him, controlling it, and whatever else a control of gravity would allow him to do. When he uses magic, his scales are colored dark grey, like in this link

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality: Despite being the young man who is in charge of the student body Klein tends to be a youth who exhibits a number of less than respectable traits none the least is his skirt chasing and his constant slacking off. Still somehow he manages to be likable even in his worst moments for the air of levity he always seems to have following him. He tends to be a snappy dresser as well. Somehow manages to still pull straight A's despite being a carefree slacker who claims to never study.
Background: Klein is the student body president of Tristan High and a grade A skirtchasing, flirting, and general carefree soul. Most of his past is blurry due to a heavy case of amnesia. He can't remember anything past the last four years and hasn't found any clues to unlock his lost memories ether. Even still he goes about his day to day life as any normal person would... or at least... as normal as one with the power to manipulate water can.

Magic: Klein's magic has been awakened for an unusually long time though he has been only aware of its existence for a very short time. Klein's magic allows him create and control ultra dense tennis ball sized spheres of water which can then be formed and rearranged how he likes them to. His Draconic form has black scales with a blue sheen to them.

Name: Ari Turmill
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Personality: Ari is a quiet and seemingly unfriendly person who usually appears to be very mature for his age, but is actually a very sweet boy who will do anything for a true friend.
Background: Ari's mother died while giving birth to him and he never met his father. He lived with his grandmother and his half-sister until his grandmother died when he was 11 and his sister, Aera, become his legal tutor. However, his grandmother was sick ever since he was born and the one who truly took care of him his whole life was Aera. He attends the 7th grade in Tristan High, and despite getting some level of attention from girls, usually isolates himself and has no friends whatsoever.

Appearance:

Magic: Ari is a Pure Blood, unlike his sister. He can control air in many senses. He can not only use it for fast movements, ridiculously high jumps, and levitation, but also manipulate its density and pressure so as to create blades, binding spells, tornadoes, and even become invisible. He can't move while invisible. His scales are turquoise green.

Name: Aera Turmill
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Personality: Aera is a very tough and competitive person, who doesn't care much for anyone other than herself and her brother. She does have a soft side to her, however. Strangely enough, she is more childish than her younger brother.
Background: Aera's father was a sailor who died out in the sea when she was 4. She lived with her mom up until she started dating another man when Aera was 7. Aera never got along with him and never bothered to learn much about him, determined to be loyal to her real father. Her mother got pregnant, and then engaged to her new boyfriend. However, due to complications, she died while giving birth to Aera's brother and his father was never seen again. Aera and her brother, whom she named Ari, went to live with their sick grandmother. Unfortunately, their grandmother could barely move so Aera ended up taking care of Ari. Their grandmother died shortly after Aera turned 18 and she became Ari's legal tutor. She dreams of becoming an airplane pilot, though she also loves sailing and still talks to a lot of her dad's sailor friends. She is currently attending college, having inherited a small fortune from her grandmother that she likes to keep a secret. She lives in a small apartment with her brother and drives a small black convertible.

Magic: Aera can control ice so as to create projectiles, barriers, freeze things, etc. She can also control raw energy based on her ice magic so as to shoot freezing beams and energy spheres, etc. She is also proficient with destructive non-elemental magic, though that skill remains undiscovered. Her scales are teal.

Personality: Raven prefers to be alone, and hates large groups of people. She is a very independent person, often considered tough or emotionless by the people around her, though that may not necessarily be the truth.
Background: Raven was born the youngest child out of seven others, and was often neglected. At first, she desired to be acknowledged, but soon, she began developing a need to be by herself. Eventually, she shut out the rest of her family completely. Raven also considers herself slightly schizophrenic, as she tends to hear voices inside her head. She attends Tristan High.

Magic: Raven's power had only just awakened a year ago, and she is slowly adapting to it. Her element is fire, and her powers enable her to use it as both offense and defense; she can create shields with the fire as well. Her scales are black and red.

Name: Zeno Kiphastis.

Gender: Male.
Personality: He loves everything about life and dreams of being a doctor. He attends one of the top medical high schools in the country, but he doesn't enjoy much about himself. He thinks of others before himself, and tries to make the best of each situation for his friends. Not really a socialite, but not a shut-in either. He's good at putting on a happy face.
Background: He was born to a normal family, but that quickly changed when he was five years old. His parents divorced, and he was living with his father while his younger sister stayed with his mother. This enthused him to do everything he could to help others, as he blamed himself for the divorce and lost all self esteem and self worth. He discovered his powers at when he was age 15, not knowing exactly why he had them or what they were, and started attending a medical school. He decided he would use his abilities to help him in his career, and began experimenting.

Magic: As a Pure Blood descendant of Karst, he has small power over the life force of the objects around him, like plants. He doesn't really have much control over people just yet, but he would rather not have to use the power of death on them. He would rather use his powers of life and give people who deserve it a second chance.

Personality: Seridyn sleeps a lot, and doesn't talk a lot. Even at parties, she would just stand in a corner and eat. She's not insecure, actually, she's really confident.
Background: The 10th child out of 20 children, so she's in the middle. Not that she cares much. She does as her older siblings ask of her and takes care of her younger siblings. She doesn't like to mix school and family life together. And she doesn't. Hell, she hardly talks.
Appearance: Jaw length black hair with bright red highlights. Deep green eyes, pale narrow face, about 5' 5" height, weight is about 115 lbs.
Magic: She can lift things without touching them. Like lift a carton of milk with hand gestures, and then pouring the milk. She can't lift heavy things, like a sofa, for example, or a cow. Her scales are silver.
