A Tale of Two Cities

T"That would be Schwarzwald attacking."

*She looks through what appears to be a periscope.*

T"Good, they've got tanks firing at him...but they won't last long. Mirror Zero & Lilith's Megadeus are already fixed, so they'll have to go out first. Stall for time while I fix the New Girl's armor and gun."

"Her name is Hitomi." Zell said. With a sigh she hopped in Mirror Zero, and rushed towards where Schwarzwald was attacking.

*Hitomi stands by against a wall waiting for the repairs on her Megadeus to be complete.*

*Basilisk accompanies her out. Big Duo once again lands inside the domes. Opening its machinegun ports, it fires at Mirror Zero.*

*Up above, a large crane is moving the gun.*

T"So, Vera orders you to intercept attacking Megadeuses...and then what happens when they're defeated?"

Zell dodges the hail of bullets, firing a volley of beams at him.

"I return it to the hangar unless further orders are given."

T"I meant with the enemy Megadeus."

*He fires eye lasers to intercept the beams. As Basilisk comes up on his other side, he swings a propeller, tearing a gash in one of its segments.*

Mirror Zero activated its sword, and used its thrusters to get high enough to slice at Big Duo's propeller.

"I assume they're dealt with by someone or something else."

*Big Duo turns its head & blasts Mirror Zero with eye lasers. Basilisk swings the tail around, slashing a shallow groove into its hip & electrocuting it. 4 tanks also come down the street from the outside.*

T"You never ASKED? You just follow orders MINDLESSLY? Like a ROBOT?"

*Lilith glares at her.*

T"Umm...no offense."

L"None. Taken. Squishy. Human."

"It's none of my concern."

Mirror Zero tries again, only this time sending out a constant volley of beams.

T"You poor, stupid fool. Alright, Lilith, take Rosengeist out."

L"Affirmative."

*It puts up its dukes to intercept the beams. The tanks then fire at it from the back & Basilisk starts drilling into its leg. The rockets activate on its elbows.*

*Hitomi remains standing by.*

Mirror Zero grabs the arm and stabs it, aiming to cripple the jet engine inside.

S{Uh-oh.}

*He takes tries to take the other proppeler to Mirror Zero's crotch, but Basilisk's mouth opens & cuts that arm off. Rosenkreuz rises out of the ground & kneels down, its missile pointing at Big Duo.*

L{Stand back!}

S{AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!}

*They can see Schwarzwald in his cockpit, waving his arms around in front of his face.*

Mirror Zero gets out of dodge, but calls out, "Wait, tell me what you know about me, what do you mean I'm just a memory?"

*He just keeps screaming, unbuckles his seatbelt, opens the cockpit, & jumps out as the missile plows into the robot's midsection. When it hits the ground, the missile explodes in a column of flame, destroying the robot's body from the chest up. Upon landing, Schwarzwald pants a few times & runs to the subway.*

*Luna is thrown in a holding cell. The cop outside is watching the news.*

<...Her body was pulled from the wreckage of the Megadeus known as "Rosenkreuz." Advanced prosthetics were used to replace the destroyed tissue, but the procedure has never been attempted before, and her situation is still critical. It is presently unknown whether or not she will survive.>

"BRING HER TO ME! I NEED HER TO TALK TO ME! SERIOUSLY, BRING HER HERE OR I'LL GET EXTREMELY MAD!"

Zell grits her teeth, "Don't run away from me!" She called out, as Mirror Zero hauled ass to the station entrance. When she was close enough she hopped out of the cockpit and began chasing after him.

If, A, the lights in the tunnels are working, she hauls ass after him.

If, B, the lights are not on, Zell takes a few steps into the darkness before stopping, cursing and trying to return back to the entrance, putting a hand on the wall for guidance.

*Lilith runs past her into the tunnels. The sound of Schwarzwald screaming can be heard echoing across the walls.*

If, A, the lights are on, Zell continues down the hall.

If, B, the lights are off, Zell hears Lilith zoom by her, and Schwarzwald's screams. "It would help if you brought him into the light." She called out to Lilith.

*Lilith comes out of the tunnel with her hands covered in blood.*

L"...He got away."

"I need to see Barbatos! The woman from the crashed Megadeus!" Luna continued, "Seriously! It's matter of life or death-- would you see my father, a respected detective die because you didn't just do what I said?!"

Zell lets out a sigh, "How unfortunate. I had wanted to know what he meant when he said I wasn't 'the original'." Zell ran a hand through her hair, and closed her eyes, "Just who in the hell am I? I thought I knew that a month ago... now I don't know WHAT I am, let alone who." She opened her eyes and glanced at Lilith, "I'm sorry Lilith, I didn't mean to have an existential crisis in front of you like that."
