Sins of the Father

*Ark is lying on the ground dead a few feet away.*

Ingrid let out a sigh, she didn't have a phoenix down, nor was she a white mage, so she simply grabbed his lifeless corpse and began to make her way back to the air ship.

"How do I get Sin to come to the Calm Lands, anyway?"

Captain<Simply call forth the Final Aeon, & it will come.>

Ingrid comes in and places Ark on the floor. "Can anyone help me out with this... I'm not sure if there is some kind of time limit before phoenix downs stop working."

[The snow's returning. All that melted away is quickly being covered up. I feel a cold yet familiar sensation wrapping around me. It's almost nostalgic. This won't fix anything, but it'll prevent further incident. Should I be doing this?]

"He has a Phoenix Down. If he won't stop being stupid, just let him lie there."

Ingrid shrugged, "Uh, okay then." She said taking a seat. She wanted to raise concerns with Luna again, but she figured it would just get her nowhere, so she kept quiet, stewing in her own feelings on the matter.

"Everyone should get ready. We'll be finishing this today."

Ingrid stood up, "Today?! Will you at least give it some thought? There has to be another way, a way that doesn't involve you killing yourself. What would we do without you? Ark is dead on the floor, and Hitomi rarely says a word, we need you."

"There isn't one. And once all of this is over, you'll be exonerated of heretic status. Everything's better this way. You should tell Hitomi. I think it would be best if she heard it from you."

*She heads to the shop.*

Ingrid tightened her fist with anger and turned to leave. Quickly she made it to Hitomi's room and knocked on the door, "Hitomi, prepare yourself, we go to fight Sin today."

"...Understood."

*Ark sits up, yawns, and just stays there.*

Ingrid wanted to yell at Hitomi for not putting up a fight, even now, but simply walked off towards the shop to buy supplies.

*Hitomi stands up and leaves the room, staring at the floor, dragging her feet, heading for the shop. She's no longer carrying the book or wearing the bracelet and her hair is back in the braids she had at the start of their grand adventure.*

OOC: This shall be the most depressing finale ever.

*Luna has already bought a bunch of shit & puts her last 50 Gil away, going to stand over in the corner.*

*Hitomi buys nothing and goes stands out on the deck.*

*Ark goes to buy a Firaga and trade it plus a Grenade for Flare before heading out to the deck. Standing a few feet behind Hitomi, he sighs.*

Ark: <I know you don't like me, and I know the others don't either, but that doesn't change the fact one of us is dying and I feel terrible about it, regardless of how hard I'm trying to hide it. This really isn't the time to be acting tough. If I feel bad, I can't begin to imagine how you must feel, and so you can't possibly want to stay quiet about all of this.>

Ingrid bought a phoenix down. As she put it away she can't help but wonder if it would be of any help to Luna but gave up the idea as false hope.

*The ship lands, a stairway descending from the balcony onto the Calm Lands. When the Al Bhed traders spot Luna, they hastily pack up & take off.*

"...Does anyone else have any last minute preparations?"

Ingrid tries one last time, "Luna... please. Don't do this..."

*Hitomi begins to go down the ladder.*

"Very well. Captain! When we're all off, fly away. I don't want anyone to get caught in the destruction when I summon the Final Aeon."

{Understood.}

*With that, Luna descends as well.*

*Ark goes down the ladder as well.*
