After Hours: Episode 2

AFTER HOURS

Class had begun, the sleepy team all came to class, sleepy. The class was "Intermediate to Advanced Soul Academics for Partners"
or IASAP. Weirdly enough, Videl the partner'less scoundrel was there. Class had begun, teaching was Algol Brenton.

"Uggggh" Lune groaned then looked at Kaylee and snickered. "It doesn't look THAT much like a pineapple..."

"Wake up, idiot." This time, it was Jackson who was sleeping in class. "It's not my fault you decided to stay up all night." Ami elbowed him in the face, all the while pretending to listen.

"Uhg...so...tired..." Jackson groaned. He lifted his head up off of the desk as slowly as humanly possible and blinked rapidly.

"Alright class, today marks the beginning of the new semester, hope your all more enthralled then I am. As you probably know, I am Altos Leonard Brenton,
your teacher for the advanced soul academics. This class will cover subjects Soul Study to Advanced Soul Combat, that's seven subjects in total if you look at your forms. Now my class will be a no-hand-holding program. No color-in work sheets or stupid art collages. I'm here to teach you fundamentals. As you've probably noticed, this is a Sophmore and up class, BUT we have a few newbies as well joining the class. Such as-" Algol stumbled to look at a small sheet of paper "Looooone.....Cornell and her partner Kaylee Kroix. Please say hello and whatever."

"So Teach" Videl piped "When do we spar?"

"Videl, I can assure you our students spent much too time last night parting to have any energy to spar."
Just crack open your books and pretend to read 'till class gets out.

Videl, turned to a sleeping Sab.
"Hey, girl. Didn't you hear teach? We're going for an important field trip, we're all leaving. You better get outta here before we all leave you behind."

"Lune, and I'm a he" Lune sighed.

"It was the first day back on campus, you can't blame us," Ami murmured, only loud enough that she could hear. "Oi, Cresswell, didn't I tell you to stay awake?" she said, whacking him again with the book.

"Would you stop that?" Jackson hissed.

"STAY. AWAKE." she repeated. Ami then proceeded to open her book to a random page, stand it upright, and crash on the desk behind it.

"Hypocrite."

Dura smiled as the hung over Sab raised her head, and looked around, "What, but... don't tease me Videl... I'm in no mood." She said grumbling softly and putting her head back down.

Dura leaned back in her chair so that it was standing on two legs, and began to read her text book, using a highlighter to make a few notes here and there. She also took note of Lune, she would have raised an issue about a freshman being in class, but after seeing him last night, she felt he had earned upperclassmen classes.

Lune waved to Dura and Sab with two fingers before crack open the text book and beginning to read.

Sab didn't notice, but Dura gave a small smile, and wave back before returning to her work.

Lunch got out, there was a subtle breeze.
Videl stood nine feet away from Ami and Jackson. He was carrying a bloated dufflebag around his shoulder.
"Alright, you guys. You asked for it"

Algol was reffing for the fight, mildly interested.
"This is a double's battle between Ami Hightower, her partner Jack Cresswell
and Videl Mortlock." He raised his hand, half-stiff. "Battle Commence!"

"Here we go!" Videl called. He intensely through the dufflebag to the ground, out scattered pieces to a set of knight's armor. Videl clasped his fist in his hand
"Soul attachment!" His soul expanded, a thick golden sphere surrounded himself and the tossed armor. The dust circled around the sphere he had created. Focusing as hard as his will let him the armor began to float in the air and put itself together. Videl transformed. A beautiful giant axe, the armor, now standing erect by itself took a offensive stance and gripped the axe. The sphere dissipated, the crowd looked in amazement.

Lune whistled from his seat, "For a fuckabout he's got some skills... watch closely Kaylee we might learn something from that beanstalk yet" said to his partner.

"Its too bad we couldn't spar yet. That Kishin egg was nothing but a warm up."

Dura looked on with a smile, "And now the kids get to see why V fights without a partner."

Sab was standing next to Dura, more awake now than she had been before.

"It is impressive, I'll give him that." Lune says as he and Kaylee and moved to where Dura and Sab were.

Dura shrugged, "Eh, I guess it is alright, if you're into the big, heavy weapon thing." She said with mock flippancy.

"She is only saying that because I'm a short sword." Sab said, still a bit groggy. "She actually had a proclivity for heavier weapons before we partnered up."

"Once you go light you never go back." Dura said with a smile, putting her arms around Sab, who simply rolled her eyes with a small smile as well. "It is true though, I've never seen a weapon fight on his own the way V does, he is good, not better than me, but no one is, so I don't hold it against him."

"When you have the time I'd like to put that statement to the test. If you don't mind of course?" Lune extended his hand in a sort of a 'deal?' sort of maneuver.

Dura took it up quickly, "Sure thing kid, I'm always happy to give the freshmen an idol to look up to." She said, smiling wide.

Sab let out a small sigh, "From what I've been told, you can channel your soul wavelength, right? Despite Dura's overzealousness, I wouldn't mind a fight with you as well due to that fact alone. It would be a good learning experience."

"For both of us, I've seen Kaylee's weapon form. By necessity, our fighting styles will be a bit similar. You'll get to witness what years of training can do for you and your partner."

"I can resonate with my own soul wavelength, yes. Its a rare skill. One of many I have. I'm also able to use the sword style, Addition, but I had to leave my blades back in Europe when we fled. Making up for the loss of my old fighting style is another reason I came to the DWMA."

Dura smiled, "Well don't you sound like a well trained guy. Mysterious, dangerous, from the depths of Paris, I bet you get all the girls with that schtick."

"Just Kaylee. I've devoted my life to protecting her since the day I met her and threw off the shackles of being raised as a tool for destruction" Lune put his hand on Kaylee's shoulder and she blushed and twiddled her fingers.

"Make a move" Videl quietly said.
