After Hours: Episode 3

AFTER HOURS

When they came to class the students looked un-easy, and Mr. Brenton distraught. They were all huddled around a small television screen.

If you crowded next to the screen you could see a news segment on a brutal killing spree, the culprit: A graduate of the DWMA William Hesse. He was a large tan man, in the footage you could see him in chains being taken away by armed forces.

"That's fucked up" Lune said.

"Indeed," Jackson agreed.

Ami didn't comment. She was sitting close to the TV, oddly silent, entranced with what she was seeing.

"I'm just happy he was apprehended." Sab said, returning to her seat.

"Agreed, though I'm a bit upset. This might diminish the reputation of the academy." Dura said.

"Maybe, but there is a black sheep in every school. You can hardly hold anyone responsible for it but him." Sab replied.

Algol turned off the set. Still, he was sweating. Oddly nervous.
"Alright class. Get to your seats."
He moved the front board and started writing with chalk. After he was done the board read:
"Essay due Thursday, 5 page minimum: Why Weapons and Meister's are Important"
...
"You can get started right away"

"You alright?" Lune asked.

"Mind your business"
Algol began to put his coat on
"Dura, you're in charge." He left abruptly.

Videl tipped in his chair
The class was silent.
"Cool. What are you going to do with all this thrusted power, D?"

Dura walked up to the front of the class, sat behind the desk, and pointed at the board, "Get to work." She said with a smile, "Or don't. Just keep the noise at a low roar, and we'll be fine." She said, pulling out a book to read.

Sab was a bit miffed that Dura was put in charge, but kept it to herself, and began work on her essay.

Lune sat down and began to work too with Kaylee.

Videl through his bag over his shoulder and began* to exit the classroom.



*Still in class, can still subject to converse, not yet gone.

"Class ain't over for a few minutes V. Do me a favor and wait it out." Dura said, not looking up from her book.

Ami stayed quiet and copied Jackson's essay while drinking a bottle of Monster. She shifter her attention and looked at Videl. "I want to leave too..."

"Try and stop me" He smirked
The door shut and he was gone.

"Don't," Jackson said shortly. "And do your own essay. Oh, and you probably shouldn't drink that."

Ami glared at him. "Why not?"

"The after-effects."

"After-effects? I don't care about that."

"Well, see if you say the same thing after you fall asleep and fail third period."

"He has a point" Lune chimed in.

Dura let out a small sigh, "I just did try to stop you... Oh well."

Time: Lunch break began the the students were released like hens out of a coop. They mingled like normal, in an everyday scenario. Sitting, not at the teacher's lounge but at a small cafe table was Algol. He seemed tense. His teeth were grinding and he looked a bit sweaty.

"'Sup, Teach?"
Videl casually greeted.
"Man, the class just went chaotic when you left, but no worries. I shut everyone up and made sure they all did there work." Videl grinned. He was smart enough to know this was an obvious lie.

"Leave the guy alone V, something's got him stressed" Lune and Kaylee both had lolipops in hand though she had one of those big multi-colored swirl ones where as Lune just had a dumdum.

"No, it's fine I.........I" Instantly, his face had changed. He looked shocked, but pleased as well.

"I....Videl! Lune!" He tried to act more casual
"I need you three the round up all......(Crap, how many students do I have? 23.....24....) twenty three of your classmates. Eh, please. I need all of you in my classroom immediately." He stood up, and began to walk away

"But, it's still lunch!" Videl shouted. He seemed to far away to hear.
He turned to Lune and Kaylee

Dura had stood in the room, reading her book. Sab stayed too, eating her homemade lunch at her seat, while continuing to work on her essay.

"Alright" Lune stuck the dumdum in his mouth and began to round up the class.
