Golden Age: Revival

*Arthur finds a bench & sits down.*

<It could not have been long after his 35th birthday that we learned of Mordred's betrayl, though he clearly had been plotting for much farther back than that. He claimed that I was weak, & that he was the rightful King. To that end, he gathered an army of monsters in secret, attacked Camelot, & slew his younger brother. We threw off his invasion, but it was just one of his plans. You probably do not know this, but during certain times of the year, & at certain locations, a single individual can momentarily control almost all of the world's magic. We could not kill him, for a ghost could still enact this ritual. So Merlin & I devised a certain trick.>

*He then produces a pomegranate from his armor.*

<It is slightly crushed, but it has been preserved for all of these years, frozen in time with myself. I picked this from the Underworld. It is an arcane rule that those who eat from the underworld are forced to remain there forever. So I spread it along my sword, & stabbed Mordred in his stomach. But the only way to truly ensure that a person cannot leave the Underworld is to see to it that they pass through in death.>

Noct listened quietly, nodding every now and again to show she was listening, "Thank you for explaining."

Allina: <Any chance you can contact her and tell her it's urgent?>

Ari: <So you found that spell... and I assume Mordred either did too or is trying to?>

Arthur<We could search the city streets, but I doubt we'd find him. He'll probably be formulating another plan right now.>

Allina: <Remind me, does anyone here have a driving license?>

Ari: <...What d-does he want, exactly? Seraph and Senthose can't be brought back... right?>

"Obviously the lot of us do, what with all the walking from point A to point B we've been doing."

"So, what now?"

N"So what if we can't legally drive? We probably can't afford a car, either. Which means we're probably stealing one."

Arthur<Unless you have an idea of where he might be hiding, I fear our only recourse is to check back with Gilgamesh.>

"I wouldn't know where he would be at all, so I guess perhaps we should return to Gil."

Allina: <We're going to cross like 3 borders in a stolen car? I mean, security probably sucks, but it's still a bit risky. There's also the Red Sea, but finding a way to sail down all the way to Somalia seems even harder.>

Ari: <I know, I was just confirming he doesn't need them anymore.>

Arthur<We'll have to leave the city, then. It's difficult to teleport from inside a large, man-made structure.>

Thiera<Well, he currently has no allies. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that means he plans to take control of the Illuminati.>

Allina: <I guess you have a point. Either way, shouldn't we get going as soon as possible? Saving the planet all that stuff, you know.>

"Uh, okay then, lets go."

"Stealing a car. I'm sure the lot of us would totally be able to accomplish that. We'd be better off hitching a ride."

N"Into the land of pirate rapes & kiddie killers? Who in their right mind would give us a lift?"

*Arthur teleports them once they are outside of London's city limits. Gilgamesh is just kind of standing unobtrusively in the forest, watching the tourists tour stonehenge.*

Arthur<Any news?>

Gilgamesh<Only that he has not been here. It's almost as though he never had any intention of teleporting in the first place. Is he perhaps hiding out in the countryside? Or maybe still in London, waiting for a chance to strike again?>

Thiera<Of course I don't. But all anyone needs to know is the leader. Enough of the Illuminati have been brought down by now that if anyone were to take out Koshkey the Immortal, the rest would surely fall in line.>

"Nobody said anything about going directly to Somalia. Just to the Egyptian border or into the next country."

*Nero heads off down the road, presumably to find a car.*

Arthur<It is possible he will try attacking Thiera Psyche again. It is difficult to say, without knowing the exact nature of her defenses. But why would he be so persistant against her? I'm sure he kept a close eye on the Illuminati as a whole before his return.>

Allina: <Can't you guys be nice to each other for one second? We've been through a lot together. You know, I think you're all just way too stubborn.>

Ari: <There's something I've been wondering about... You're... You're stronger than those people that defeated Nobunaga, aren't you...? Are you not strong enough to defeat Koshkey? Or maybe Mordred, if he's planning on taking over the Illuminati. I don't know if this is a stupid question but I just... find it curious how you've been sort of supporting those kids going around fighting them, but at the same time let them hate you like that.>

"That's the great thing about this 'team'. It's a miracle it's lasted this long seeing how few if any of us like one another."

*Nero is ignoring them, having found a crappy, run-down truck. You know, one of those kinds that's more rust than paint, & whatever paint there is is chipping off exponentially. The tires are a little flattened, but a quick kick doesn't deflate them any further. He peers in the windows. Roatha walks over.*

N"It's locked."

R"So? Open it."

N"It looks like it's on the way to the trash heap, but it still might have an alarm. I can't exactly disable those with a bobby pin."

<First of all, Koshkey the Immortal didn't get his name for being good at beer pong. If anyone wanted to defeat him, they'd have to first find out where he keeps his soul. Secondly, their lack of manners is irrelevent, so long as they continue to defeat the Illuminati.>

Gilgamesh<I am uncertain what else he'd be after near enough to not teleport...you don't suppose he went to Avalon, do you?>

Arthur<You mean to continue his old plan? It is nowhere near the Solstice. And even if it wasn't, there isn't enough magic left in the world to complete the ritual. Unless he wants something else there.>

Allina: <...Hmmmm. Of course no one here's experienced in stealing cars. I knew that. Duh.>

*She stands there, staring at the truck, trying to think of something.*
