Winter 2012 Anime Season

That amv literally showed every fight except for the one with the guy with the chain scythe. So STFU.

I usually pitch EF with the story first, particularly how sad it is. I don't have trouble explaining it, but most people are dumbasses. As far as the scenes, well, it is like advertising a movie, yea, you could show that one part where everything is sad, and moody, and Oscar worthy, but you A, ruin the story, and B, it doesn't sell as well, because most people want to see the chase scenes and explosions.

And that's why advertizing sucks. Was Sucker Punch entirely about attractive woman kicking all kinds of ass?

No one, but damned if you'll find a trailer showing anything to do with the asylum/brothel in which the girls are held captive in.

Don't give me that shit. That is ALL that movie was about. Zack Snyder said so himself.

Edit, I do like the movie though, particularly for the asylum parts. I was just waiting for the main chick and Rocket to get together... then Rocket died. I was sadface.

Just because I allegedly liked this alleged AMV doesn't mean I liked everything about the scenes allegedly depicted IN that AMV.

The more you tell me about what Zack Snyder said, the more I don't believe he actually watched the movie.

Zack Snyder said the movie was a giant middle finger to people who went to it expecting only fanservice and guns.

Which is why it didn't do so hot at the box office.

The rendition of Where Is My Mind it featured was pretty shit.

He also said that it was supposed to be a middle finger to people who cast female actresses in skimpy costumes for no reason.

He then made up a bunch of contrived bullshit so that his female actresses could spend most of the movie dressed as whores. Literally.

But... It wasn't a middle finger. It had a shit ton of fanservice and guns. Even the touching, heart warming parts, hell, the Asylum parts did too! Well, the dance school parts anyway.

Why do people who like subs have shitty tastes? That makes no sense. I could care less about sub/ dubs, but I usually lean towards subs because I don't mind reading, and voice actors are usually crap.

I'm not one of those. I prefer dubs over subs usually but there's more range of things to watch that are subbed and not dubbed s'what I mean.

Once again, being a snob has nothing to do with having shit tastes. In fact, most snobs are the way they are because they're in line with what is critically accepted as good.

I just used that movie as an example because I recently saw it and it was related to the whole aspect of awful advertizing.

I could have used Fight Club as an example, but decided against it.

Being a snob requires only that you THINK you have good taste. A community that endorses you helps, but saying anything is "critically considered to be good" is just laughable, because almost everything gets mixed reviews.

Yes, but something like Slumdog Millionaire has juuuuuuuust a bit more good reviews than bad. Also, that was an exaggeration.

What is? That everything gets mixed reviews? Did you know RottenTomatoes rates the Justin Bieber movie higher than Watchmen & Fight Club?

Watchmen wasn't all that good. It worried too much about recreating the comic frame by frame than it did adapting the story for film. The only thing they adapted was not having the ending be a giant space octopus, which, admittedly, is probably a wise decision. As far as Fight Club, it is a cult classic for a reason.
