Since dodging ain't do shit she tried to see if parrying worked, or if she should just worry about hitting the damn thing, and not worry about the damage. To that point, she slashes again.

"I suppose that is a good a way as any..." Hector said, turning and strolling down the left path with his cutlass sheathed.

*They come into an odd, u-shaped clearing with an entrance to the left & straight ahead. Zalera stares at some skeletons below a giant purple flower.*

Zalera: Don't you want to stop & enjoy the scenery? You've been searching for it for quite some time.

Luna: Jungles are meant to be explored.

*Noctis manages to stop the claw & deal higher damage by slashing at its tensed claw joint. It roars & spasms once again.*

Noct slashes again, pleased she discovered something useful.

"Cool," Mortal said, "Lets try out that dungeon now!"

"Ah, if I might be so bold," Hector turned and looked at the pair, appearing indifferent. "What is 'it'?"

*Luna glares at him again.*

Zalera: A jungle field. Such as this one. Obviously.

Luna: We go straight.

Cave Theme

*The first room of the dungeon is, of course, a small, dark room with one exit. It consists of bevelled black with walls covered in red fire crests & flame symbols.*

Thiera: Do you think we're ready for this?

Euryale: Who knows? I guess we should have gone back to town to save first.

*Once below half health, the crab scuttles to her side & attempts a double-snip.*

"My apologies, I misunderstood," Hector said before continuing forwards.

Mortal shrugged, "Meh, I'm sure we'll be fine."

"We do have two wavemasters, so we should be able to keep ourselves healed," Sab said, nodding in agreement.

Noct parries again, and slashes.

*Monudon stabs at the shark*

Euryale: I'm glad to hear you say that. To be honest, I didn't really want to backtrack.

Thiera: But what if something goes wrong? What if we're all afflicted with status ailments, or something?

Euryale: We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Come on, Rig Geam only lasts for a few minutes.

*The next room contains a pedestal with a giant apple cor on it. The core has a face & talks in a squeaky voice as it bounces around.*

*Monudon lunges to the side, while stabbing at the shark's side*

*Blake walks over to investigate the carcasses, looking for any potential items.*

"How cute," Hector said, considering the apple core while preparing to draw on his blade.

"I have a bunch of healing spells," Sab said, walking forward. Mortal followed.

Noct tries to get out of the way, and slashes at the crab.

*There is nothing around the caterpillars but rock.*

*The shark attempts to ram him with its hammer head as it spins around to face him.*

*The crab bleats like a sheep & sprays rapidly moving white gas in a sideways arc at Noctis.*

*The next room is an empty zig-zagging chamber with a skeleton lying on either end. Euryale slashes downward on the one beside the door, sending shattered bones everywhere.*

Euryale: Damn, no items.

Monudon:[I can't even land a blow on this thing.]

*Monudon jumps backward, thrusting his spear at the eye in the shark's mouth*

Mortal kind of just thought Euryale was crazy, then put two and two together, "Oh, do random piles of bones usually give you items?"

Sab looks up, and around for a second, "I... Did someone call me?"

Noct, having no clue what that shit is, tries to avoid it as best she can, while continuing to attack the crap.

"No," Hector replied.

*Noctis is put to sleep. Her character turns yellow & z's start escaping from her head. The crab scuttles around her, almost like it's bragging. Fortunately, if she ever manages to get out of it, her HP is pretty high & its own is pretty low.*

*A large percentage of the shark's HP goes down and its attack misses her. It staggers, growling.*

*Zalera takes the Piney Apple.*

Luna: ...

Zalera: You actually typed out an elipsis, how adorable. Some jobs take speed, which a Grunty is good for.

Luna: I suppose.

Thiera: Not that I know of, Sab.

Euryale: Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It's worth checking, because hey, free items.

*Thiera walks to the other end & knocks the other skeleton's skull off by poking it with her staff. The skeleton slowly slumps over & falls apart.*

Thiera: There's nothing in this one, either.

"Oh, cool," Mortal said.

Sab still feels like she heard someone call her, but doesn't bring it up again.

Noct is annoyed at seeing her character asleep. Should she wake up she returns to stabbing the bastard.

Hector just stood there, waiting.

*The crab manages to get 2 more snip attacks on her before she wakes up. While being stabbed, it preps the spell again.*

*The next room is the same as the first.*

Euryale: I feel kind of cheated whenever this happens.

*She slashes sideways, destroying a skeleton, & is rewarded with a Recovery Drink.*

Luna: There are no other exits.

Zalera: Right you are.

*The pair of them head back for the other room.*

Noct fucking slashes again, not wanting to deal with being put to sleep once again.

Mortal slashes at the other one.

*Monudon charges forward, again stabbing at the eye*

*The shark flips over & slowly drifts to the ground, where it turns gray & vanishes, leaving behind a treasure chest.*

*The crab collapses as the spell animation washes uselessly over Noctis. Its claws twitch a few times as it turns gray & dissolves, giving Noctis 2 levels.*

*Mortal acquires an Antidote. The next room is an L-shaped corridor, but this one has a magic portal. The second they get into the room, boulders slam down, covering the exits & the rings around the Magic Portal expand & fluctuate wildly, before the whole thing collapses & disappears in a flurry of golden sparkles. Out of the Magic Portal, a Hell Doberman emerges & begins running towards them.*
