The World

*Since Sab has been casting a lot of Bi Juk Roms, I'm pretty sure she should be almost out of SP afterwards. They happen to luck out, & the Menhir is too far away to revive the Snip Snap as it dissolves. Even with all of the attacks, it isn't quite at half health yet, so Luna & Zalera run over, but Zalera is stopped when it "leaps" up & spins in the air, & a pair of lightning bolts drop down on him. Luna twirls her spear, slashing it 3 times once she's close enough.*

Mortal casts a Vak Rom, and Noct attacks with a flurry of 14 slashes.

Hector pressed his assault, stabbing it.

*The Menhir finally twitches, falling on its side & dissolving.*

Noct gives a lil' fist pump.

Hector looked around for anything that might be left.

*He sees the pair of Magic Portals that they left behind. And Aroma releasing a cloud of fireflies into the air.*

"Shall we get to the last portals?" Noct asked the group.

*Monudon nods*

<Sure, as long as everyone has SP.>

*As a matter of fact, Monudon is basically out, Sab is only about halfway restored, & Noctis isn't faring too well on that front either. Aroma walks up.*

Aroma: Is now a better time to ask a question?

<Yeah, now's a great time. What's up?>

Sab nods.

Aroma: You can hurt the creatures that live in this world. And they can hurt you. Does that mean you can disappear, like they do?

<If we die, we just respawn back in town. No worries!>

Hector considered the question, giving Aroma a curious look, but did not answer himself.

"It is like Monu said," Sab said, "When we lose our hit points we just respawn."

Aroma: I see...but you said that you're not like me, that you were players of a game. What happens to the you that is your consciousness when you stop playing? Do you, outside of The World, also die and "respawn," as you call it?

*Euryale tilts her head.*

Euryale: What brought on your sudden curiosity about death?

*Aroma shrugs.*

"Uh, no, we just keep on going," Noct said, "Our consciousness isn't tied to the game, or our characters."

<If we die outside the game, in the real world, we die permanently.>

*Aroma looks very upset.*

Aroma: Well, don't do that!

*Her expression softens.*

Aroma: What is this "real world" like?

<Well, there aren't any monsters or magic, and it can be kind of boring.>

"I wouldn't call it boring at all," Hector said, quite fascinated by Aroma's sudden curiosity. "But it is really a very different place."

"Its fine, I guess," Noct said, "There are a lot of things not to like about it though. The World was made with the purpose to entertain. The 'real world' can be anything but."

Aroma: Can you tell me anything more?

Thiera: Umm, well...it's tough to say, really. It's a varied place. You have jungles and tundras, like in The World, but also cities. And dungeons are very rare, and usually don't hold treasure.

*She scratches her head.*

"We're more technologically advanced too," Mortal said, "At least more advanced than what the World looks to be."
