Old Ones Return

*The attack exposes large swaths of grid lines on Renamon's arms.*

Agumon<Hold still!>

*Seeing that Salamon is unable to get free of her own power, Agumon takes to the air & fires a series of Pepper Breaths around her. He also shoots one near Renamon's leg, freeing her.*

"Alright, enough trying to be reasonable."

*Euryale tries to grab the kid's D-Power, only for Stingmon to turn around & kick her hard in the stomach. She doubles over, gasping for air, & the kid whacks her in the head with it.*

Kid<That's what you get, Meanie.>

Tamer<Keep it up, Monochromon!>

*Monochromon spits a trio of large fireballs at them.*

Renamon growls and attacks Stingmon with another Aero Wing, rushing Stingmon in the process. Salamon following.

<Kylie!>

*Lekismon fires Tear Arrows in response. After doing so, she heads over to Kylie, and gently places Hitomi and Calumon on the ground next to her, then turns back to face Monochronmon. Kylie smiles and offers Hitomi a hand up*

Kylie:<I'm glad I found you guys unhurt! What's...what's going on here?>

*Calamon covers his eyes with his ears.*

Calamon<I don't know, I don't know!>

*Lekismon is hit in the back by the other fireballs, breaking off its...back things. While she's faltering & distracted by the others, Monochromon charges at her.*

*Stingmon strafes away from the attack. As it does so, its antennae flip forward, firing pulses of energy at Renamon.*

Stingmon<Evil Antenna!>

*Agumon flies around to its back & fires a series of Pepper Breaths at its wings. These are blocked when Stingmon lands, folding its wings, & WarGreymon's shield appears over them, in response to the kid swiping a card.*

Hitomi: "Thank you. I have to get to Salamon!"

Hitomi runs back to the group, Calamon in tow.

Renamon jumps back away from the attack. Using a Kohenkyo which rather than switching places as before creates two clones of Renamon which charge Stingmon, one in front and the others from the sides.

*Lekismon leaps away, being much more agile now that's she not carrying anyone, and fires Moon Night Bomb at the Monochronmon*

*Stingmon draws the shield & flies up to the air, charging Agumon. He blocks Agumon's Pepper Breath with the shield, but falters in his attack as he notices his Tamer asleep, DemiDevimon whispering into his ear. Thiera walks back onto the scene. Euryale takes the time to swipe Agumon's Frozen Wind.*

*The attack breaks Monochromon's horn clean off. Monochromon stops its charge, looking stunned.*

The clones vanish and Renamon jumps, unleashing a Diamond Storm.

Hitomi: "Digi-Modify."

With some difficulty from holding Calamon, Hitomi swipes the Cocytus Breath card whoch Salamon promptly uses on Stingmon.

*Even Lekismon is surprised. After halting for a split second, she attacks with another Tear Arrow*

Kylie:<Don't destroy it!>

Tamer<Wait, stop the fight!>

*It is too late for either of their warnings. The arrow enters Monochromon's mouth & plows straight through it. The Digimon flickers, then its skin & armor begins breaking off in chunks & reverting to data.*

*When Stingmon turns to block the Diamond Storm, Agumon uses its ice breath to freeze its wings. As it falls, unable to change its direction, it is hit in the abdomen by the Cocytus Breath, breaking its exoskeleton & exposing a large gash of grid lines that threatens to cut it in half. It drops the shield & hits the ground, where it reverts back to Wormmon & begins to crawl feebly to the sleeping Tamer.*

Kylie:<NO!>

*Kylie is distraught, and sinks to her knees. Lekismon returns to her side, and puts and arm around her*

Lekismon:<This was in self defense. I doubt they would cry for you if I was the one who fell.>

*Kylie stares the the ground and doesn't respond. Lekismon glares at the other Tamer*

Lekismon:<You can't stop a fight once you begin to lose. I didn't want to fight you in the first place.>

Taiyo runs over to Renamon's side.

Taiyo: "Are you okay?"

Renamon: "Yes. It's nothing serious."

Taiyo is already using the Digivice to heal Renamon's arm while Hitomi goes to join Salamon.

Salamon: "I'm fine."

Salamon looks at Hitomi wondering why she's carrying Calamon around like she used to be carried around as Nyaromon.

*Euryale grabs Wormmon by the scruff of the neck & holds him up to her face.*

T"What are you doing?!"

E"...Why did you follow his orders? Why did you attack us? You saw that we were partners, that we weren't doing anything harmful. But you were going to kill our Digimon & load their data anyway."

Wormmon<Well...he's my partner, I have to do what he says.>

E"No you don't! He's just a kid, if he doesn't know what he's doing, it's your responsibility to set him straight. Not to help him make bad decisions. What's he going to learn from that?"

T"(See? Violence isn't the answer, civil reasoning is.)"

DemiDevimon<(Yeah, I'm glad we all learned a valuable lesson from my near-death experience.)>

Tamer<That doesn't really matter now, does it? He's not coming back.>

*He drops the D-Power, whose screen cracks & deactivates, and the cards he used. A second later, the D-Power overloads in a surge of electricity & breaks apart.*

Hitomi and Salamon join Taiyo and Renamon.

Hitomi: "Are you all right, Renamon?"

Renamon: "Yes. It's only a minor injury which Taiyo is mending quickly."

Lekismon:<I suppose so. I will not, however, absorb his data.>

*Lekismon picks up Kylie, but doesn't move yet*

T"I don't know, that looks pretty severe. Maybe it'll heal faster if more than one person works on it."

*Euryale puts Wormmon down & he goes about supporting the kid under the shoulder & dragging him off. He stops & turns his head back.*

Wormmon<You should take those cards. We don't really need them anymore.>

*He just leaves in a huff.*

*Lekismon goes over and grabs the cards, then heads back to the others*

Kylie:<You didn't just take his cards, did you?>

*Lekismon doesn't respond, only shoves the cards into Kylie's hands*

Renamon: "It's fine."

Taiyo: "Hush. We already know you're strong. But it's okay to admit when you're hurt."

Renamon looks away, possibly blushing while Hitomi aids in mending Renamon.

*Thiera heads over to help as DemiDevimon goes to hang upside-down in a tree branch.*

Agumon<Is there anyone else coming to attack us?>

*Euryale checks her D-Power.*

E"Nope. No Digimon in the area besides our own."

*The wings fold up & vanish as Euryale goes over to help heal Renamon.*

Renamon backs away, uncomfortable by the idea of being crowded by mostly strangers.

Kylie:<I hope the others aren't hurt. When I left they were fighting another Tamer.>

Lekismon:<I'm sure they'll be fine. It would be 3 on 1 remember.>

Kylie:<I guess. I never said thanks, did it?>

*Lekismon smiles and continues on her way*

T"We're just trying to help. There's no need to be skiddish."

*Euryale turns her attention away from Renamon & goes to pick up the cards. Wormmon had left the scene ages ago.*

Taiyo: "It'll be fine. We're a team, right? We help each other."

*Lekismon runs into the main area, and makes a 360 looking for trouble. Realizing it's already been taken care of, she relaxes*

Lekismon:<Looks like the trouble's been taken care of. See, nothing to worried about.>

*Kylie jumps down and heads towards the others*

Kylie:<Glad you guys are alright! We tried to get back sooner, but we got..held up.>

*DemiDevimon falls asleep, covering herself with her wings. Thiera cautiously reaches out with her D-Power to make another attempt at healing Renamon. Agumon reverts to Koromon & holds his ears up.*

E"We were attacked by a Tamer, but we sent him away. He was pretty young, I guess he just assumed that attacking Digimon was the same as fighting the bad guys."
