Old Ones Return

*Euryale completes the stretch by linking her hands together behind her back & bending forward slightly. Agumon looks at Taiyo & raises his eye ridge.*

DemiDevimon<I'm gonna check out that van.>

*DemiDevimon flaps her wings & takes to the air, moving down the park stretch.*

*Lekismon and Kylie sit down on the ground while Lekismon watches Demidevimon's progress*

Taiyo continues watching. By now it is probably incredibly obvious.

*Euryale purses her lips.*

"Umm...can I help you?"

Taiyo: "No, no, no. Not at all."

Hitomi: "Taiyo?"

Taiyo: "Yes?"

Hitomi points to the side of her mouth.

Hitomi: "You're drooling."

Taiyo: "What? No, I'm not?"

Hitomi holds a hand to her mouth, giggling while Taiyo checks to ensure she wasn't drooling.

*Kylie looks from Taiyo to Euryale, kinda confused as to what's going on*

*Euryale is about to say something, but is interrupted when DemiDevimon lets out a shriek. Having apparently gotten just a bit too close, she had been hit with a taser after someone rolled down the window. While she was on the ground, a man quickly stepped out with some kind of heavy-duty steel contraption like a pet carrier, but DemiDevimon flickered away, & he turned his attention to a second DemiDevimon, who was flopping on the ground, trying desperately to run back to Thiera, who quickly gets up & swipes the only card she has left, surrounding DemiDevimon with a glowing dark blue aura.*

*Kylie and Lekismon jump to their feet. Kylie runs forward*

<Wait, stop! DemiDevimon's not wild!>

*Lekismon grabs Kylie's arm*

Lekismon:<(We have to go about this the right way. This is Hypnos.)>

Kylie:<(I know, but these people protected us earlier. Now it's our turn.)>

*Lekismon says nothing in return, and waits more developments*

Taiyo: "Renamon, help Batty."

Renamon jumps down from her hiding spot in a tree, swapping places with DemiDevimon via Kohenkyo.

*DemiDevimon then falls out of the tree, to be caught by Thiera. Out of the back of the van emerge a quartet of men with black hair, suits, & shades, each packing heat, matching the man in the passenger seat with the taser. A blond man in a similar outfit steps out of the driver's seat, flicking the lid of a lighter open & close.*

1<Sir, should we open fire on it?>

Leader<Hm...only if it moves to attack. This incident has already escalated more than I would have liked.>

*He looks past everyone, at Thiera.*

Leader<It's you. I thought you said you'd be keeping that Wild One out of trouble?>

T"We weren't causing any trouble."

Leader<We can't confirm or deny that. But the rest of the Tamers here have been implicated in a fight downtown earlier this morning.>

Kylie:<Yes, this morning I was attacked on of no where, and the others here saved me from getting murdered by another Tamer. We weren't trying to cause trouble.>

*Lekismon gets the feeling this isn't going to end well*

Taiyo: "You're involved with Hypnos!"

T"They're just where I got my D-Power from. And do you think there's anyone who isn't 'involved with' Hypnos...that there's any Tamer they don't know about?!"

1<Sounds like nonsense.>

Leader<It's true.>

1<Excuse me, Sir?>

Leader<At least in part. That young man we apprehended, before he somehow obtained a D-Power, he had been in trouble with the law several times, for fights and animal cruelty. It's very likely that he was looking for a fight. Still...that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous.>

Taiyo: "They're not all dangerous."

*Lekismon turns and stares at Thiera*

Kylie:<We're not dangerous....well we don't go looking for fights. At least I don't.>

*The leader snaps the lighter shut & puts it in his pocket.*

Leader<If you're so eager to prove yourselves, then I trust you'll have no problem turning over your D-Powers for examination?>

Kylie:<Sure!>

*Kylie takes out her D-Power and heads over there, Lekismon following behind*

Taiyo: "But if we're attacked we're pretty defenseless."

Leader<We'll have them back to you within an hour or two.>

E"I still don't think it's a very good idea. I mean, spying on us, tasing DemiDevimon, that's all very shady."

Leader<That's law enforcement. Would you want to fight the police, rather than let them search your house?>

E"Police have to have a warrant."

*The man turns, reaches into the glove box, & produces a legal document. Those Digimon with really good eye sight can see that it's government permission to increase surveillance of Tamers.*

*Lekismon, as she's pretty close to the agents, reads the document*

Kylie:<I'd rather just get this over with. They're just going to examine our D-Powers, and they seem to have a warrant.>

Lekismon:<What exactly can you tell from D-Powers?>

Taiyo: "Fine..."

Taiyo hands over her D-Power and Hitomi's.

*Thiera heads up as well. Agumon tugs on Euryale's shirt.*

Agu<I don't know about you--really, I don't sometimes--but I don't really want this to be You & Me vs. The World.>

"Technically, it would only be us vs. the Japanese government."

*With Agumon staring sternly at her, she sighs & tosses her D-Power at the guy collecting them. The head suit catches it before he's hit in the head, & hands it to him. That guy then goes into the van & closes the door.*

Leader<We can see any information that has been processed through the D-Power. Cards, Wild Ones, files....>

Taiyo: "I don't like this."

*After handing over the D-Power, Kylie and Lekismon head back to the others*

Lekismon:<I see. Interesting.>

[What could they want the information for?]

Leader<Since we have time, perhaps we should go over the incident that occurred earlier this morning.>

*The guy beside him puts away his taser & pulls out a pen & notebook.*
