Old Ones Return

Taiyo: "Then you're free to go?"

E"Yeah, but I'm not supposed to overexert myself, or I might pull the stitches."

T"They can't avoid us forever. Worst case scenario, we just have to wait for something to Bio-Emerge."

Taiyo: "You can't show up on their doorstep?"

Kylie:<Yeah....do they have a base you know about?>

*Thiera sighs.*

T"Once again, they're a secret government organization."

Kylie:<I guess....>

Lunamon:<Then we will have to wait for the next bio-emerge.>

Taiyo: "That could be days from now. Aren't they looking at those jerk Tamers who keep attacking us?"

T"I don't know. They might just be content to let us deal with them."

Lunamon:<What if we got into a fight with some other Tamers? That drew them last time.>

Kylie:<Eh, we could end up getting killed. Plus, Euryale got stabbed last time.>

Lunamon:<I know, but it did work last time..>

*Kylie glares at Lunamon*

Taiyo: "They came when one started shouting about us."

T"I guess we could try it, but making a scene could really backfire on us."

Kylie:<I suppose.....>

*Kylie still looks unconvinced*

Taiyo: "We can't just wait for them to come to us."

*After about an hour, the doctor enters.*

<Alright, we just need to check your breathing and heart rate, ask you a few basic questions, redress your wound, and give you your prescription. Have you been feeling any light-headedness, chest, or arm pains?>

"No."

*She makes some marks on a clipboard.*

<Good, good....>

*Kylie sits quietly, listening to the doctor. She holds Lunamon with both hand*

Taiyo looks out the window.

Meanwhile, outside the hospital, Salamon fidgets and paces and is overall impatiant.

<You, ah, might want some privacy for the rest.>

"I'll be fine."

*The doctor shrugs.*

<Suit yourself.>

*She then dons her stethoscope & reaches up Euryale's shirt with it.*

<You remember what you came in for?>

*The doctor moves the stethoscope to Euryale's back.*

"Uh...I was stabbed. I think it was a mugger."

<That is indeed what you told me the first time.>

*Euryale sharply turns toward her, worried.*

"You think I'm lying?"

<No. What? I'm checking to make sure you don't have any memory lapses. They're a stroke risk.>

*She puts her hand on Euryale's shoulder.*

*Kylie nods in agreement to Euryale's story*

Taiyo continues looking out the window.

<Alright, one last thing.>

*She produces some scissors & gauze from her coat pocket. She then cuts the covering of Euryale's wound & undoes it. Anyone who should happen to look will see a few stitches in her side. The doctor applies some antibiotic to a pad, applies it to the wound, & then winds more gauze around her torso.*

<Just change this every couple days until we remove the stitches. You can bring the scrubs back then, too. Here you go.>

*She hands Euryale a slip of paper with a signature on it.*

"Thank you. So does that mean I'm ready to go?"

<Certainly. Have a nice day, Euryale.>

*Kylie stands up and smiles*

<Shall we go?>

Taiyo: "Ready to go?"

"Yes. Let's--"

*The second she stands up, something rips the sheets off of the bed & runs out of the room, swaddled in them.*

<H--hey! Come back here, that's hospital property!>

*The doctor starts running after the demented dwarf, who disappears down a staircase, trailing the sheet like a cape.*

Taiyo: "Was it really a good idea to let him stay here?"

*Lunamon shakes her head*

Kylie:<How are we going to explain this?>
