Year One

Jin rubbed the back of her head, fast recovering from the blow, before taking the ball and sending it back to the beach-goer.

*Eve continues to back to her parents. Seeing Jin, she runs over to say hello*

<Happy Summer!>

"Shut up. How was I supposed to know you were talking to me? It's not like you said, 'Ready for the next one,' or anything. Gimme some cheap hotdog-soda combo, or something."

T"But I just got here."

A"I am feeling kind of hot...."

Ven gets an overcooked hot dog and a can of Coke as well as people behind her in line bitching.

Clerk: "Three eighty."

Taiyo: "Let's go, Aromy!"

Taiyo scampers to her feet and takes off towards the water.

Beach Goer: "Thank you!"

*Ven sadly hands over her hard-earned cash.*

*Aroma gets up & follows after more slowly.*

A"I prefer 'Aroma,' actually...."

Dalia continued to recline in the sun at her home, sipping iced tea and slowly eating her muffin.

Jin nodded to the beach-goer before turning to Eve and smiling broadly, "Hi! Happy summer to you, too!"

There's a rukus as a convoy of construction vehicles pass by. Whether they're heading to the site for the construction that began earlier in the month or a new site is unknown.

Taiyo: "Um...okay."

Taiyo runs into the water, rinsing the goop off her hands as she swims and splashes about.

*Aroma puts her foot in the water, tentatively, to see how cold it is.*

*Venezuela begins heading back, eating her hotdog. With one of her claws, she pops open the can of soda.*

*Eve smiles back*

<So good to be out of school, right? The last few weeks I thought I was going to die.>

"Yeah, the break is great," Jin replied. "Are you gonna' swim?"

Taiyo rises out of the water and waves to Aroma.

Taiyo: "Come on in!"

Taiyo then stops and stares at Ven as she passes by.

*Eve nods*

<I was planning to once I put my stuff down. What about you?>

*Aroma turns to watch whatever Ven is staring at. Ven takes a drink before flashing her crazy chompers, in the form of biting that hot dog near in half.*

Dalia's brow creased into a slight frown in reaction to the noise of the passing vehicles. She was almost finished with her food and drink, and decided that she would soon be taking a long walk.

"Yeah, of course," Jin replied, before looking to Eve's bucket. "Whatcha' got there?"

Taiyo sinks a bit in the water.

Taiyo: "What a bite..."

*Eve looks down at her bucket*

<Oh, it's a hermit crab! I found him a little while ago. or her. I can't exactly tell.>

*Eve looks back out the water*

<Would...would you like to go swimming with me? I just need to put down my stuff.>

Dalia finished her iced tea and muffin and placed her book down on the side table before standing up and beginning to walk in the direction the convoy of vehicles was heading.

"Yeah, sure," Jin gave an enthusiastic nod. "I'll wait for you."

*Aroma enters the water, swimming over to Taiyo. Ven continues on her merry way, oblivious.*

A"Wasn't that the girl from yesterday? Aren't you afraid of how she'll react if she knows you're staring at her?"

The convoy is quite a ways away by now.

Taiyo: "Yep! Errr...I didn't really think of that. But how can I resist? I'm only fourteen. I can't control myself sometimes."

A"I try to avoid looking at other girls. Just in case they might get mad."

Taiyo: "I'm sure that doesn't happen often."

She looks back towards Ven.

Taiyo: "And just look. That bikini, those abs..."

Taiyo sinks completely, some bubbles bubbling about the surface.

*Aroma pokes her stomach, feeling inadequate. After finishing her lunch, Venezuela licks her fingers & heads into the water, near the other end of the beach.*

*Eve smiles and runs over to her parents, and throws off her t-shirt and short, revealing a plain red one-piece underneath. Then she grabs the hermit crab and runs back*

<Thanks for waiting!>

*Eve puts the hermit crab down around where she found it*

Dalia began heading towards the construction site which had begun earlier in the month.

"No problem, I like your swimsuit," Jin said, turning and beginning to head further in the water while speaking. "Red suits you."

The area is fenced off and a big hole is dug, the groundwork for the support system of the rest of the building underway. There's no sign or anything stating what's being built.

Taiyo: "What's up? You're not really swimming."
