Year One

The teacher resumes the lesson which is just continuing from the day before.

Azuma: "I suspect this was her spot originally."

Hitomi: "It was."

Azuma: "Oh. Whoops."

Gym continues as normal. Some running and jumping, griping about sand in shows, and someone falls face first into the pit.

The teacher looks a little surprised and embarrassed for not having noticed a student talking to her and hastily agrees to excusing Eve.

William: Fantastic trainer, I got here.

William slowly gets down on the ground so he's eyes level with the dog.

William: "Don't worry, boy, we're here to help. We're going to make sure you get home nice and safely."

The dog stops backing away and William slowly begins crawling towards him.

William: "Don't mind Ven, she's here to help too. Right?"

"I gotta say, so far, you're not being very convincing."

"I don't mind," Dalia said in a tone that suggested that she actually did, if only a little, before walking to another seat.

Jin participated with enthusiasm, sure not to show off too much or hint that she might actually be inhumanely good at running and jumping.

*Eve goes back to her desk and grabs a small book, then exits the rooms and heads to the library*

Azuma: "No, of course not."

By now people have gathered around the student on the computer.

Reneé: "We just recieved word of three officers down and the Tyranno Boys are showing no signs of backing down and tactical reinforcements are held up."

Hitomi watches as Azuma abruptly leaves, passing Eve on the way out.

William: "He's calmed down, hasn't he? I hope you don't expect him to talk back. Although when and if he does I don't think you share enough traits to understand him."

William holds his hand out to the dog which sniffs at it before allowing William to pet him.

William: "So what's your name, buddy?"

The dog barks, tail wagging.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

*Eve curiously turns toward the group of students*

Eve:<Huh? A police shootout?>

Student: "Been going on almost an hour. There's a stand off going on hour two, but it's nowhere near as big."

William: "I figured by the worlf fur you had some other canine traits. The teeth for all I know could mean anything, but I can't imagine a cat wearing wolf fur."

He turns back to the dog, rubbing his head.

William: "It's nice to meet you, Jake. I'm William. So what do you say about coming with us, so we can help you get home?"

The dog barks again and begins to follow William as he stands up.

Eve:<Any hostages or anything?>

*Venezuela is stone faced as she gets into the car & starts it back up.*

Dalia took a seat and began to read again, trying to ignore the computer and the students around it.

Jin continued to participate in her lesson.

Student: "If so, it wouldn't matter. The Tyranno Boys would've offed them already just because."

William: "I made a pretty bad first impression with her, didn't I, buddy?"

Jake barks.

William: "Right."

William lowers the tail gate and opens up a kennel.

William: "All right, buddy, hop in. I assure you it'll be fine."

Jake hops up onto the bed and into the kennel which William closes and latches shut. Taking the rope he begins to die down the kennel.

William: "I take it these were the ropes you were asked to show me."

<I suppose so.>

*Eve, realizing she's supposed to hurry back to class, heads to the librarian's desk to return the book*

"If you find out who, if anyone, owned the dog, we can go straight there."

The bell signalling the end of second period sounds.

William: "Well, he doesn't have a collar or anything, so that'll be a problem. He's in good shape, so it shouldn't be long for someone to come looking or calling for him."

"What the Hell happened to talking to it?"

*Since Aroma & Thiera aren't the type to start putting their notes away 5 minutes before the end of the period, they're both lagging behind, doing that now.*

Dalia placed her book back into her bag and left the library.

Jin continued running about, heedless of the bell.

Wishing to avoid another incident like before, Taiyo stuck around the classroom a bit longer. Azuma and Hitomi went to their third period English class, while Mimiru went to her own class.

Back outside, most students had already went back in leaving the teacher and Jin.

Teacher: "Jin, get inside, change out and get to your next class."

William: "Not much to ask. What his house looks like? Grey. Address. A street. You're asking more from him than you are from me."

"Okay," Jin replied, heading quickly back to the gymnasium, and then to her third period English class, which she shared with Dalia, Azuma and Hitomi.

*Eve runs back, and collects her things, then heads to Gym*

<Why couldn't I have missed Gym?>

*Aroma & Thiera get up & head for the door, nodding at Taiyo as they go.*

"Whatever you say."

*Ven looks into her mirror & backs out.*

Taiyo nods back before leaving. The halls aren't as full as they were before, but crowded enough.

In the classroom, Azuma is staring out the window while in the desk in front of him, Hitomi is reading as usual. Some students are spread out in little groups talking amongst themselves while the teacher has yet to arrive.

In the gym, a handful of students are already changed out and waiting.

During the drive back to the humane society building, they pass a police roadblock and the usual campaign billboards.

Dalia was seated a few desks away from Hitomi, and was checking her phone for messages. Jin casually found her seat at the back of the room and sat down, before beginning to search through her bag for a notebook and pencil case.

*Eve enters the locker room and quickly changes out, then heads back to the gym*

[I hope we don't have to run much today.]

*Ven growls at a billboard.*

*Aroma goes to a sewing class & Thiera to English.*
