Cabin in the Woods

V"Go. Away."

*The kitchen is much the same as it was last night. Nero also heads in, opening one of the cabinets.*

N"So who's going to cook this crap?"

Cameron:<We all can all pitch in. Is there any coffee?>

*Eve looks startled*

Eve:<I..I was just trying to be polite...>

"I can cook," Stefan said, looking for some canned fruit. "A little, anyway. I think it would be ideal if there was some canned fruit in here."

Hector, Eduj and Astarte all continued to sleep.

N"There's spam and beans. And lots of them."

*Increasingly annoyed, Vanessa buries herself in the sheet.*

"Well, that's not hard to cook at all," Stefan said, taking a few cans of beans down. "I don't like spam, though. Do any of you want spam as well as beans?"

Cameron:<I'm hungry enough to eat anything.>

*Cameron looks around for some pots. Eve looks embarrassed and heads into the kitchen*

Eve:<Morning.>

Cameron:<Hey there.>

N"Well, we don't really have much of a choice, now do we?"

Taiyo stirs, slowly opening her eyes. Seeing she's face to face with Euryale, she just cuddles up more.

Taiyo: Still in a spooky cabin, but at least I'm safe here.

In their room, Azuma and Mimiru sit up, yawning and stretching.

Azuma: "Morning, lover."

Mimiru: "Degenerate!"

Mimiru pushes Azuma off the bed with a loud thud.

Azuma: "Someone's cranky."

Stefan shrugged and went about cooking breakfast.

Astarte was mildly startled when she woke up to Thiera's face, but quickly remembered the situation. She pushed herself up on her elbows and looked around the room before dropping herself back down next to Thiera. Her body was still tired from the previous day's experience, but she felt much more calm now.

*Roatha sits up, causing Thiera to awaken & turn toward him.*

T"So, do you think we should all search for a clearing in a group? Or multiple groups, or just one group while someone stays behind?"

R"I don't know...we don't want to get lost."

T"We can have someone mark the trees with a knife."

N"We're not going to have a lot of what you might call daylight to search."

*A loud noise like some useless pile of shit being thrown on the floor in a room or 2 over causes Euryale's eyes to snap open.*

E"What was that?"

Astarte felt a little uneasy at mention of leaving the cabin, and closed her eyes again as though sleeping.

Baked beans and spam is quite quick to make. Stefan works fast and efficient.

Eduj walked stiffly out of his room, his legs feeling quite sore after being crushed under a bus the previous day. Hector followed a few moments after him, a hand held over his yawning mouth.

Taiyo: "Huh? I don't know. Probably two lovebirds doing what they do."

Azuma and Mimiru enter the front room.

Azuma: "Morning. Or afternoon."

E"I was kind of hoping we wouldn't be able to hear that in the other rooms."

*With the lack of dishware, it is presumed that Stefan heated up some cans. Consequently, Nero grabs one, & a fork, & heads to the window, squinting.*

N"If that fire is finally done, we should be able to get a signal up there."

Astarte continued to lie down as though asleep.

"Yeah, could you ask the others if they want some?" Stefan asked. "I need to know how much to heat up."

Taiyo: "I don't think that's what they were doing."

Azuma: "Lack of cookingware or no one wanted to go into the spooky basement? Or both."

E"I'd bet my left breast that someone in this cabin is planning on it, if they haven't done so already."

R"Well, I guess we should go out there, start planning."

*And so Roatha & Thiera emerge.*

R"So, Thiera had this idea of splitting up into groups to search for a clearing, & marking trees with knives so we don't get lost."

N"I was thinking we should just head for where the fire was last night. I'm sure it's stopped by now."

T"I don't know, forest fires can last for weeks."

When Roatha and Thiera left the room, Astarte's calm began to falter and she soon found herself heading to the front room herself. With everyone else around, she felt a little conscious of her messy appearance, and stayed quietly to the back of the room.
Eduj and Hector walked into the kitchen, and each claimed a can, nodding thanks to Stefan.

Taiyo: "What? Umm... Why did you want to share a bed with me?"

Azuma: "I'm going back to bed."

And with that, Azuma returns to the bedroom.

N"Well, he's helpful."

E"What do you mean? I had to share with someone, & I don't really know anyone here."

Taiyo: "You don't really know me either. I don't think we ever said our names."

Mimiru just buggers off to elsewhere in the cabin.

Eduj, Hector, Stefan and Astarte all continue to do nothing.

E"I still feel as though you're the one who's shown me the most about herself, and even if that's very little, it says that I can trust you. By the way, my name is Euryale. Euryale Rakshashi."

*Euryale smiles.*

N"What the Hell is wrong with you people? Do you want to die in the woods?"

*Monu and Tirea and have emerged by now, and both grab cans, joining Cameron and Eve*

Monu:<I think we should try and get back to the road. Someone will eventually spot us there.>

Astarte looked distressed, and Hector furrowed his brow after finishing a mouthful of canned beans, "I think that Ro... Roatha had the best idea. We should search in groups for a clearing, and leave marks on our trail."
Hector looked as though about to add something, specifically to Nero, but Stefan cut in, "I preferred Nero's idea."

Taiyo: "I'm Taiyo Shikasu."

Taiyo cuddles up to Euryale.

Taiyo: "I feel safe with you. I didn't think sleeping through the night would be easy or even happen, but feeling your arm around me made me feel like I had nothing to fear. It was comforting."
