Year Two

"Eww..." Jin wrinkled her nose but continued staring at the man with morbid fascination, but after a few moments looked away. "Yeah... let's go."

Ven and Taiyo arrive at relatively the same time. Some angry looking guy carrying an old bread bag passes them as he leaves.

Taiyo: "Hi, Ven!"

People in the mall begin to get the hell out of there as the police begin closing off the area while foresnics people look about the body and gather up the dominos.

Forenics 1: "There's something off about these bones, sarg."

Seargant Frank Miller, the head officer on the case looks at the tech like he has no idea what was said.

Miller: "Fuck do you mean, bones?"

Forensics 1: "Sorry, sarg. Just an old term for dominos. As I was saying, there's something off about them. One just broke like it was nothing. Either they're poorly made or they're something else."

Miller: "Get them to the lab. Christ, this better be a one time thing. Russians and Tyranno Boys shooting up burger joints and now self-diemboweling whackjobs."

Near the crime scene is an Arabic male in an old pilots jacket. Flicking a domino between his gloved fingers.

*Eve nods and then starts heading to another part of the mall*

*Cameron lays down and stares up at the sky*

So like, time? That's cool. This is one of my powers. I can speak to people in thoughts. If I wasn't explaining this I guess you might think they were yours. My mother did the first few times.
Jin looked Eve in the eyes as she passed these thoughts to her, just so that she was sure that it was her. The Arabic male caught her gaze as she looked away.
Ah, perhaps more importantly, that guy looks suspicious. Over near the crime scene with the jacket and the domino.
She tried to make it look like she wasn't staring at him.

Dalia was in her bathroom, staring into the mirror and considering. She would need an Alternate Dalia.

V"Hey, Taiyo."

*As she's staring after the guy with the bread bag, scratching her head, Thiera & Aroma show up.*

""Hi guys.""

Taiyo looks a little disappointed for a second, but brushes it off.

Taiyo: "Hi, Aroma. Hi, Thiera."

It's a clear day. A bird flies overheard every now and again, oddly enough none crap on his head.

The totally not being profiled male snatches up the domino in his hand and walks away from the scene.

Yeah.....that's amazing Jin. He does look really suspicious. I wonder if he....did something to that crazy guy...

*Cameron sighs, wishing he could join the birds in the sky*

Jin narrowed her eyes and projected the thought into the man's mind, hoping that he would answer reflexively.

Dalia locked the bathroom door and began carefully and thoroughly applying makeup which she would never normally wear. She applied bright red lipstick, an almost copious amount of black eye shadow and mascara, pink powder blush and black nail polish.

T"Hello....is something wrong?"

*Meanwhile, Aroma waves back.*

Taiyo: "Nope. Just wasn't expecting you two is all."

Shopping. What are you doing here?

*Eve looks at Jin*

<(Should we go find somewhere to eat?)>

*They frown.*

A"O...oh."

T"Should we...go?"

Hold on.
Jin looked over at the police officers present and gave a few of them the following thought, making it sound as urgent as she could.
A suspicious Arabic male is leaving the scene with a domino, we should stop him.
"Okay, let's go," Jin nodded at Eve. "Where could we go?"

Dalia considered her outfit. A grey woollen beret would cover her hair- which she had left quite messy for once- and she was already wearing an ill-fitting black leather jacket which her father had worn in his younger years, he shouldn't miss it. Underneath the jacket she wore a simple white t-shirt and in contrast to her usual knee-length skirt, she wore denim shorts which showed off her legs, as pale as they are. She wore black canvas shoes as she sometimes liked to do.

Taiyo: "What? No. No, no, no."

The police officers and forencis workers stop doing what their doing, looking around like 'what the hell is that?'

Miller: "I won't judge, but is anyone here a telepath?"

The forensics people and other officers all shake their heads.

Male Officer: "Should we alert a Mutant Busters unit? Until we know for sure what happened here we can't rule anything out."

Miller: "Oh God. I'm really hoping this isn't Mutant related. Fucking hate dealing with those guys. Call one in."

Male Officer: "Yes, sir."

The officer unclips their walkie talkie and requests a Mutant Buster unit to sweep the Southdale Mall.

Miller: "Why the hell would anyone try to get us to follow some Arabic male? At least find a less obvious scapegoat."

T"Oh. Okay, then."

*Ven scratches the back of her head.*

V"So...what do you want to do?"

Eve:<Anywhere.>

*Eve drags Jin away, worried*

"Hey, what's the rush?" Jin said cheerfully, before passing some thoughts to her. Act natural. That was probably stupid of me to do, but we'll be in more trouble if we act like we have something to hide.

Dalia found her phone and used it to find a store nearby that would sell things like party accessories and masquerade masks.

Taiyo: "Umm...you invited us. What do you want to do?"

Assuming the two ever decide to leave, they see a Mutant Buster van pull into the mall parking lot. Also a late model dark blue pick up truck leaves the mall parking lot.

V"I don't know. I was bored, because I didn't know what to do."

*She looks around.*

V"Did they cut the grass recently?"

*Eve sees the van, and turns to Jin*

<Um, let's go get smoothies or something.>

*Cameron stands up, shakes off, and starts heading towards the park entrance*

"Sure," Jin nodded, still grinning, and started walking in the direction the dark truck had gone. Come on, it'll be fine. Even if they did know it was us, which they don't, with our powers combined I bet we could escape.

Taiyo: "I don't know."

In the truck, the Arabic male sits in the passenger seat, a white male in denim driving.

White: "How did it go?"

Arabic: "Just as the professor said. We can begin mass distribution of the drug at any moment."

White: "And the addicts in lock-up?"

Arabic: "Consult the professor. I'd let more loose then leave the others to die, but it won't make much difference."

White: "And the police? They've probably gathered a mess of the dominos."

Arabic: "Our agents within the police force will see that enough is known to get the word on the drug out and destroy the rest."

White: "And that Mutant Buster van? The plan didn't call for any Mutants, but they would make a good scapegoat."

Arabic: "A telepath was present. I imagine they tried alterting the police in some ridiculous way. I assure you, nothing was revealed. If anything, this'll give us more time if the police follow this red herring."

Jin, we're going to end up taken away by the Mutant Busters.

*Eve hurries after her*

"So, do you know a place we could get smoothies?" Jin continued. Trust me on this. Even if they find us, I'm the one using telepathy. You aren't going to get in trouble for my mistake, I'll make sure of that.

V"It doesn't look like it...but this smell is kind of making me nauseous. Let's go into town & find something to do."

*Aroma & Thiera glance at each other.*
