Year Two

*Cameron shrugs, and Eve scans the area to see if anything of interest is going on*

Dalia has nothing else to be doing, so she presses on.

Grimm is still mending and cleaning his clothes.

"Ah huh."

A firefighter jumps, spooked by some plant monster and raises their axe in a defensive manner. Another raises their flashlight like a club.

Axe: "What the hell are you?"

He can enjoy himself. The news only recaps previous events given how uneventful the night was for the most part. Word of the incident he was apart of having not been made known at the time.

The area is still quiet. Although the silence is nowhere near as awkward as the one between the group.

Azuma: "Well, we'd better get going."

*Thiera does not move.*

"Please remain calm. I am a human, same as you. Only I have the power to control plants."

*She shrugs.*

"That's why I wear them."

*Eve nods*

<Right. It was nice to meet you two.>

Flashlight: "Same as me? I don't fly around covered in leaves. How 'bout you?"

Axe: "Nope. Because we're fully human. Not some accident of nature."

Azuma grabs Mimiru's hand and teleports back to their rooftop.

Azuma: "Meatheads."

Eve:Let's go.

*Cameron grabs Jin and places her on the ground, then grabs Eve and continues in the same direction as before*

"I have some unusual genes, I will admit. But be that as it may, my powers have many uses beyond gliding. My vines could be used to clear or search the rubble, and I can derive medicines from my flowers, or even make trees that can take the water you spray on the blaze, and redistribute it onto other parts of the fire. I also know a little bit about who started this destruction."

Jin followed.

Dalia was still heading across town to check out the damage.

Once done mending his clothes, Grimm cleaned up his wound. It would leave a nasty scar, but thanks to hit hitting him in his right shoulder it would blend in somewhat with his substantial burn scars if anyone was to inspect him.

Flashlight: "Or you can let us do our job. The fire department was called, not some Mutant."

Mimiru: "I think you should be called Frost Mutt. Still dumb, but more fitting."

Azuma: "Too bad all the best names are taken."

Nothing of interest is apparant for anyone still on the prowl.

Eve: Nothing. Maybe we should turn in and try for tomorrow?

"I have reason to believe that the rubble is devoid of bystanders. So if you want to waste time & resources out of a desire to be obnoxious, then I suppose that's your business."

*Thiera sets off to look for the chief in charge of the fire fighters.*

The firefighter lower their assumed weapons and return to their search. One moves what may have been a table of sorts, uncovering the chard remains of someone. Nearby is the disfigured remnants of an automatic weapon.

Another firefighter is talking to a police officer.

*Thiera takes a picture of the gun. As with the others, she texts it to Aroma. She then heads towards the firefighter & police officer.*

Seeing a plant monster come their way, the police officer reaches for his gun. The fire fighter turns around and is startled by the sight.

Officer: "Get on the horn and get a Mutant Buster unit down here, ASAP."

The fire fighter makes a dash for the police cruiser.

"Wait a second, I'm not here to hurt you! Does this look like my handiwork?"

*She gestures to the fire, causing flower petals to fall off of her hand to emphasize the point.*

Police Officer: "For all I know you can make those explode."

Fire Fighter: "ETA is fifteen minutes!"

??? pushes open a section of wall in the sewers revealing a large recently constructed room with a large number of people meddling about setting up large all white canvas tents. Someone stops and looks at ??? like he has no idea who this weird looking guy is.

???: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have met the enemy. They are adaptable but disorganized."

A woman in fatigues with a thick accent of European origin speaks.

Woman: "So they are nothing like what we defeated in Europe?"

???: "No. The enemy is of a better stock. They are the children born of the Purple Rain, not some hasbeen like what we faced in the mother land. But evil shall triumph. We will eradicate those born of the Purple Rain and raze Manderlay to the ground. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me the honor of introducing myself formally. I am the face that wears the Black Mask, but you shall know me as Professor Hurt."

"But you have no reasonable suspicion for believing this. According to that logic, anyone here could secretly have the power to make air explode. To put it bluntly, you are racially discriminating, & violating the equal establishment clause. Besides, I confronted the arsonist, & have been taking pictures of the evidence that he left behind. Evidence, by the way, of my prolonged fight with this man, which the police seem to have been largely ignoring."

The police officer makes no effort to not draw his gun.

Police Officer: "Such evidence that if it exists is to be handed over to the police, immedietely."

*She digs in to her pocket to draw her phone. Slowly raising it, she...takes a picture of some asshole pointing a gun at her. She then ducks, releasing a cloud of obscuring spores & generating springlike vines at her feet, allowing her to leap into the air & glide away.*

"Don't worry, I'll make sure everyone knows what happened here tonight."

OOC: What an exciting conclusion.

Alliances have been formed.

The forces of evil gather and continue to terrorize Manderlay through violence and narcotics. Whispers of the Black Mask spread throughout the city, each tale different from the last. But with each new rumor of the Black Mask comes more domino related incidents.

All while outside the state, the Dreadnaught Program nears the end of its development stage and the start of its first trial.
