Cabin in the Woods II

Azuma: "Damn it. And it looks likes the mysterious shooter won't be here to save us."

"Did you even see this person, last time?" Hector asked.

V"What are you people talking about?"

*As they're arguing, they pass onto the road.*

Azuma: "I said we had not when I told the story. A little slow on the uptake, are we?"

"Don't get snarky, it's been a pretty tiring time, if you hadn't noticed," Hector frowned. "I forgot."

V"Fine, don't tell me, I won't tell you who helped me through the forest, either."

*A branch breaks & falls behind them.*

Azuma: "Was it a woman who may or may not be some kind of monster hunter?"

"More to the point, what happened to her? Why isn't she here?"

V"Uh...yeah, actually. I don't know where she went, she just ditched me at some point."

Azuma: "Yeah, ran into last night. We didn't see her, but we heard her and she scared off the shadow thing."

"Would be nice if she could get us the Hell out of here..." Hector said. "Do we actually know which way on the road we should go?"

*They ignore Hector because he's stupid. Meanwhile, something heavy hits the ground behind them. Euryale turns to face it, then decides it would be a good idea to resume their direction of travel, this time at a run.*

Hector and Eduj accelerated to a run. Astarte sped ahead of both of them, suddenly no longer needing to be dragged about by Hector.

The two take off after the others.

*The four also follow at a run*

*Since no one has been looking back, it shouldn't be a surprise when the white monster easily catches up to them & bowls them all over. A hulking monster the size of a gorilla, covered in clumps of white fur, with tight, compactly-muscled limbs ending in large talons stands over them, its dark teeth chattering, & its eyes reflecting bright red in the light. It appears to have leathery wings folded behind it. The fur around its mouth & talons are still discolored reddish-bronze.*

T"Is this what you saw?!"

*Vanessa makes a dash for the forest again. The white monster watches her run, but makes no attempt to catch her.*

Monu:<Looks about right!>

*Everyone stumbles to their feet*

Tirea:<What's the plan?!>

*Cameron dashes after Vanessa*

Cameron:<Wait, don't do this again!>

Sab sat down on her bed and let out a long sigh, not sure what to do. She knew Aroma would be back any second, but she didn't know what she should do. This was her first relationship, so she had no idea how to be a girlfriend. After a second she sat up and mumbled, "I should have met her after class and walked her home... Oh, I hope she isn't upset. Maybe I can still catch her." She stood up and headed for the door.

Noct doesn't rush to leave the class, and lethargically puts away her things.

Azuma: "Yeah. And this is where we ran away!"

As Vanessa appears to have the right idea and it's not pursuing her, Azuma and Mimiru follow after her.

Taiyo attempts to run off with Euryale.

Astarte had picked herself up immediately after hitting the ground and was taking off into the woods nearby to Vanessa, moving as quickly as humanly possible. Hector and Eduj scrambled up onto their feet and tried to follow.

*RENT pursue. Now it chooses to follow them, deftly ducking between trees. RENT fans out a little, at which point it tries to keep up with their general direction. It smashes through a bush & a grove of saplings, but becomes partially entangled in them & some low hanging vines. It's quickly breaking free, but RENT uses this time to get back on the road & keep running. Meanwhile, those still standing stupidly on the road begin to experience a sudden chill, ringing of ears, & blurriness of vision. Other than that, helicopter rotors can be heard off in the distance.*

Astarte continued to sprint away from the creature, and tried to make it back to the road as she realized she had been going into the woods. Hector and Eduj tried to hang around RENT while fleeing.

Azuma & Mimiru continue to follow whoever they spot that's human at this point, heading back to the road.

*Everyone follows the rest of the group, running as fast as they can*

*Euryale stops & falls to her hands & knees, experiencing a coughing fit. Thiera & Nero pause to lift her by the arms & continue shuffling away, albeit at a much reduced pace. Euryale struggles to get words out, speaking in between coughs. Vanessa just keeps running, turning on her lighter in a vain attempt to help her see.*

T"Are you okay?!"

E"That thing...the shadow...it's getting...closer. Listen...someone...needs to...slow it down."

*Monu & Tirea see a dark shape looming up out of the corners of their eyes.*

*Meanwhile, they can hear a loud cracking in the forest where they left behind the hulking behemoth of a monster.*
