Cabin in the Woods II

Sab leans into the kiss, not expecting Aroma's enthusiasm, but more than okay with it.

"Well, obviously," Noct said, falling into step next to him. "Like I said, he was mean to some friends of mine, so I kind of just wailed on him. You don't have to apologize for him though. I doubt it was your fault."

"So, is everybody else alright? Did you all get back safe?" Sidon asked, looking around.
"Um, well, sort of," Hector shrugged slightly. "We can talk about it later, though. We should just go. Also, could we give Eduj a ride home?"
"Ah, sure thing," Sidon smiled at Eduj, and was thanked by him. He patted Astarte's shoulder. "Let's go."
The four of them left and got in Sidon's car.

"Of course it is. I should have known better than to let him out of the dorm building. He's like a wild animal. Such as a raccoon, or a possum."

*Aroma strokes Sab's hair.*

*Roatha & Nero also head out.*

Aside from a little rust on the back fenders, the truck actually isn't all that decrepit. It's a relatively recent four door model. The four hop in, Azuma and Kentaro in the front, the other two in the back.

Kentaro: "So where we headin', Taiyo, was it?"

Taiyo states the address and how to get there as Kentaro starts up the truck and drives off.

"So, that is how you know each other?" Noct asked. "And I suppose raccoon works best. He didn't play dead, so he can't be a possum. You know, I don't think playing dead is really that smart of a strategy. I probably would have just kept punching him."

Sab closes the door with her foot, and snakes her arms around Aroma's waist.

"Unfortunately...well, in that case, I'm surprised that he didn't try it."

*Aroma rubs Sab's shoulder with her free hand. After doing this for a while, she reluctantly pulls away.*

Sab follows Aroma as she pulls away before realizing that that meant it was over and leaning back. She opened her shut eyes and smiled despite her heavy blush, "That was one heck of a kiss hello."

"What makes you say that?" Noct asked, "No faith in his ability to do something smart?"

Eventually Kentaro pulls up in front of Taiyo's parents place.

Kentaro: "Here you are, Taiyo."

Taiyo: "Thank you, Kentaro."

Before she gets out she hugs Mimiru.

Taiyo: "Thanks for your help with Euryale. Bye, Azuma. Bye, Mimiru."

She gets out of the truck, closes the door and scampers to her house. When she's inside, Kentaro pulls away.

Kentaro: "She's a nice girl. Especially compared to the other one in the back."

Mimiru: "Do you want to die?"

Kentaro: "Only if it's by my own hand. Idle Hand wise that is."

"I have developed a sort of casual disdain for most who live near me."

"Y-yeah. Hoo boy."

*Aroma is also blushing fiercely, & her gaze is unfocused. She shakes her head.*

"I think I need to take a quick shower, clear my head."

"We seem to have that in common," Noct said, "Well, perhaps not. I don't really disdain anyone so much as not care about them at all. Apathy and dislike are often confused though."

"Yea, me too," Sab said, "I mean, after you of course, not at the... same time." Sab blushed a bit deeper, then stood up. There were butterflies in her stomach, and she felt herself heating up, so she decided to step away from the cause. She sat down on her bed, and ran a hand through her hair, "So, uh, how was class?"

Sidon took Eduj to his home, and after a reluctant goodbye Eduj went inside. He found that his father was shocked to see him, but wasn't surprised to find that he wasn't as relieved as Sidon had been. He had a beer and a cigarette with his father, and then went to bed.

Sidon continued the drive home with Hector and Astarte, asking questions about the ordeal. He found that Astarte didn't want to say much at all, and Hector seemed to be reluctant to offer details. They arrived at home, and Sidon lead them back inside.

*Aroma starts gathering clothes, rooting around in her underwear drawer.*

"Uh...it was...good....how about you?"

"I see. Well, I'm afraid this is my stop."

*He points to a simple white brick with a fading sign on it that should read "bio labs," but now says "bi abs." The building is surrounded mostly by trees whose leaves are starting to turn dark, with a narrow walkway passing beside it to the far reaches of campus.*

They stopped at a drive-thru. It wasn't the best thing in tbe world, but compared to what they had been living off of the past couple days, it was the best meal of their lives.

Azuma: "This must be what POW's feel like after release. Until they get violently ill."

Kentaro: "Sounds like a pretty awful ordeal. And it does explain why she's in your pants. And shirt."

Azuma: "Yeah, it was pretty hectic. And we haven't even gotten into the crazy part yet."

Kentaro: "Like how your wrist got broke and the radiation burns?"

Azuma: "Yeah..."

"I'll see you later then, Senthose," Noct said, "I enjoyed the conversation." With that she waved and began on her way home.

"Fine," Sab said, calming considerably, despite some lingering lewd images dancing in her head. "Kind of boring actually, I spent most of the day doodling in my notebook."

*Eve approaches Binah*

<Um, hello Mrs. Psyche. I'm Eve Tantus, an exchange student from England. I was wondering if I could, um, please stay with your family tonight. I'm not sure if I'll still have a room, and I don't really know anyone around here.>

*After many tearful hugs, Monu, Tirea, and Cameron's families head straight for home*

"Oh? That's a shame, I hope things get more exciting soon."

*She heads into the shower.*

*Binah looks at Thiera, who shrugs.*

Binah<...It's all right with me. I hope you like Italian.>

"I don't know," Sab said, mostly to herself, "I kind of like doodling." She pulled out her notebook to study up on some notes, regarding the little hearts she doodled into the margins with warm affection.

*Eve nods furiously*

<Anything but spam and beans. That's all we've had to eat since we disappeared.>

*Eve turns to see the phone is free*

<I'll be right back, I need to call my parents.>

*Eve does that, and her overjoyed parents begin to make all the necessary agreements to fly to Germany as soon as possible. When she's finished, Eve heads back to Binah and Thiera*

*Cameron attempting to eat, which is quite hard as Kylie refuses to let go of him*

At Kentaro's, the three enter the house and go into the living room where a brown haired glasses wearing woman who looks like a librarian is waiting. She looks like she's on the verge of tears.

Azuma: "Hey, Kari."

Kari: "I'm so happy you two are all right."

Mimiru: "It's nice to see you as well."

At Taiyo's parents house, Taiyo sits in the tub, submerged as much as possible in water.

Her father wanted to know everything right away, but her mother managed to convince him to let her bathe and have a decent meal before the interrogation.

OOC: Fuck you, we're timeskipping whether you like it or not. Also, they're already in Germany.

*Taiyo starts out dreaming about being back at the cabin with Euryale. However, unlike before, the cabin is nicely furnished, with new blankets, fluffy pillows, & a red bedspread. But as they're snuggling, the door flies open & the Shadow enters. She clutches to Euryale, who says that she can't move, & to save herself. Taiyo refuses as the Shadow draws near. She wakes up in a cold sweat.*

*Mimiru has a dream that she's in a car with Roatha, who is driving. Roatha talks about how lucky she is to have found someone "great like that" when the car suddenly swerves & hits a tree. She wakes up with a massive headache.*

*Azuma is following the cops who rescued them into the woods. It's dark, but there's enough dim light that he can kind of make out their figures. Plus, he recognizes their voices.*

Frank<Do you think there's really something in here?>

Ted<I don't know, but something is fishy.>

*They get deeper & deeper into the forest, until they come upon the cabin, sitting innocently with its door wide open. As they walk towards it, Azuma can hear scrabbling in the bushes beside him. When the cops turn to face it, one of the cops in back raises his gun & fires at his comrades. The noise wakes Azuma up.*

*Monu has a dream of himself searching the black forest with a flashlight. When he finds the cabin, he enters & looks around. After waving the flashlight through the air a while & finding nothing, he turns back, & begins searching the outside.*

*Tirea is sleeping in a bedroom. Suddenly, she's awakened by the door flying open & the light flicking on. Thiera hysterically shouts that everyone else is dead & Tirea flunked out of college. Then she runs from the room. Tirea settles back to sleep & wakes up some time later, unsure whether or not that really happened.*

*Eve dreams that she's following a short, red haired girl through the paths of the campus after dark. When they arrive at her door, she opens it to find the Shadow Man inside. As she steps back, she stumbles into Eve, who then wakes up.*

*Cameron & Kylie fell asleep on the couch. Cameron has a dream of being back at the cabin & finding nothing in the cupboards. So they head downstairs with flashlights, but when they open the icebox, they find the steaks rotting & covered with maggots. Kylie says they might still be okay, as long as they don't have salmonella. When Cameron turns, the Shadow is standing in the doorway. When he jerks awake, he startles Kylie. He asks if she had any weird dreams, but she says that she hasn't.*

*Astarte is getting up in the morning when something abuptly latches on to her. She looks down to see that it's a solid black hand with wavy wisps coming off of it. She is pulled to the floor & dragged under the bed. In the darkness, she sees Stefan standing back at her, his eyes clouded over, his throat ripped open, & dried blood smeared all over the floor. More shadow hands reach out to grab on to her. As she struggles to get away, she becomes aware of the fact that the hands pulling on her are Hector & Eduj shaking her awake.*

*Hector & Eduj are having difficulty getting to sleep because their back wounds are burning really bad, when they find themselves awakened by the sound of Astarte screaming. They find her thrashing around in bed & shake her awake.*
