Old Ones Return (II)

Salamon pays no attention to them while Azuma shrugs it off.

Still sore about Friday.

Taiyo goes up to Euryale.

Taiyo: "How's your foot?"

*Lunamon jumps on Thiera, giving her a hug*

<Yay, you're back!>

*The others enter behind Lunamon, waving*

"A bit sore, but other than that, it's fine."

*Thiera tries to smile at Lunamon, but it comes out a little scary.*

D<Against my better judgment, we are. Why, I just got my wing working again this morning, thanks for asking.>

*Kurata stands up.*

Kurata<When I told Thiera about what happened yesterday, I was able to convince her to come back to the mission.>

*Lunamon grins, then whispers to DemiDevimon*

<(Salamon can't talk! It's so peaceful.)>

Cameron:<It's great to have you both back on the mission.>

Azuma: "I'd hope you'd consider sending experienced agents on the next one, rather than a group of interns."

*Kurata frowns.*

Kurata<Most of our Tamer agents were attacked while returning to headquarters. We don't know whether or not anyone is left.>

Azuma: "Any idea if they're related to the group we encountered?"

Taiyo: "What about those tamers from the park awhile ago?"

Kylie:<This seems kind of set up.>

Lunamon:<That group we encountered must be trying to pick off tamers!>

Kurata<That makes sense. The man you encountered the other day is named Senthose Rasheverek. He is a mercenary known for cruel tactics. For instance, when hired to cull rebel armies in Somalia, he had poor villages bombed, so that soldiers could not be forcibly conscripted from them. That doesn't explain who hired him, or how he can transform into Digimon, but logic would say that the biggest threat to him is Hypnos's Tamer Agents.>

Azuma: "Yeah, we sure showed him."

Lunamon:<Until he digivolved to Ultimate level.>

Kurata<Yes, that would be why he wants to eliminate the amount of agents he has to deal with.>

T"Why don't we just Digivolve our own partners to Ultimate? You can do that, can't you?"

Kurata<Unfortunately, while we are still in ownership of the Matrix Digivolution Algorithm, access to it is strictly controlled. Not even Mr. Yamaki can approve you to use it.>

E"Well, of course, that would be too easy, now wouldn't it?"

Kurata<But we do have this.>

*He pulls a red card out of his coat pocket.*

Lunamon:<Then who can?>

*Kylie steps forward*

<What is that?>

Taiyo: "Whatever happened to Calumon? He made our partners Digivolve before."

Kurata<Hmm...perhaps I'll need to convince Mr. Yamaki to find this "Calumon." In the meantime, this is a card that was designed to combat the D-Reaper's Anti-Digivolution abilities. We can't be sure, but the characteristics of the matter fused to those Woodmon seems to be similar to that of the D-Reaper. If this is the case, then using this algorithm should allow you to fight Digimon like that without degenerating.>

Kylie:<Amazing, thank you Doctor!>

Hitomi tenses up at the mention of Hypnos creeps finding Calumon.

Azuma: "So it'll allow our Digimon to fight their's, but not some Digivolving weirdo? We're still at a disadvantage."

Kurata<Yes. Fortunately, the grateful Digimon that you helped the other day have an offer that might be of use. They say that there is a blacksmith who lives in the desert near their old village. He might be able to create weapons to help you fight Senthose & his men.>

Azuma: "Um...okay?"

Kurata<You're going in to find this person. I've created a rough map from their descriptions, which I will beam to your D-Powers, but no one seems to know precisely where it is.>

Lunamon:<Alright, let's go!>

*Kylie nods in agreement*

Cameron:<Sounds doable.>

Azuma stares, bewildered by the idea of a group of idiots with no formal training fighting against a band of soldiers with formal training and guns.

OOC: I am bewildered by the idea of a group of soldiers fighting against a group of 3 story monsters with powers including the ability to launch megaton explosions from their nipples.

*As before, Kurata leads them all to the Digital Gate chamber, unlocks it, & activates the Gate.*

OOC: Nothing like that has happened.
