Old Ones Return (II)

Kurata<Kylie has it exactly. It's not very complicated to operate. That's why very few have authorized access to it.>

Azuma: "Right..."

Patamon: "So why are you sending us there so soon after yesterday's disaster?"

Kurata<Our enemies won't wait. And in any case, I mean no disrespect to Mr. Yamaki, but if he had followed my suggestions, we would have been able to recover those troops.>

Azuma: "So this is a counter attack or clean up operation?"

Kylie:<Are any of the operation still alive?>

Lunamon:<Wait, so Mr. Yamaki doesn't know you're sending us?>

Kurata<As far as I know, no one has been recovered, but of course Mr. Yamaki knows about this mission, we need the Hypnos systems to monitor it. I suppose that you could best describe it as a modified version of the previous mission, though we will counterattack if necessary. I've been analyzing that plot of the Digital World, & haven't noticed any traces of Digimon activity all day, so I'm going to send you to investigate the destroyed village.>

Kylie:<Sounds like a plan.>

Lunamon:<Let's go to the digital world!>

*Cameron and Biyomon nod*

Azuma: "Sounds simple enough."

Likely won't be.

*Kurata pushes some buttons on the control panel, then the Space Oscillation Devices in the arch glow bright yellow. As they do so, a glowing, swirling, gold-white tunnel expands to fill the archway. Thiera, Euryale, & their partners crane to look curiously into it. Inside, as though literally on the other side of the room right with them, an expanse of dirt with mountains in the distance can be seen.*

E"That's the Digital World? I expected it to be...foggier."

Kurata<The fog doesn't come from the Digital World itself, but rather, it is a reaction between the particles of the worlds, caused when their spaces intersect too closely.>

Taiyo looks over Euryale's shoulder.

Taiyo: "I expected something less...deserty."

Kylie:<I expected it to be weirder.>

*Euryale starts walking through with Koromon.*

Taiyo follows not too far behind Euryale, Renamon following behind Taiyo.

Hitomi goes through, carrying Salamon.

Eventually Azuma goes through, carrying Patamon.

He seems awfully eager to send us to the Digital World.

*Kylie and Lunamon run though, followed by Cameron*

*Everyone's D-Powers beep. Those who check it find a message.*

We can send messages to your D-Powers, but we can't send them very far, so stay close.

*After reading hers, Euryale looks around. The tunnel is behind them, just sitting in the open air. Off to their left is a massive purple-blue beam of binary sweeping across the land (luckily heading away from them), kicking up dust like a tornado. Off to the right of the tunnel a bit is the destroyed village.*

*Kylie, Cameron, and their partners head off towards the village*

Azuma: "Don't see that everyday."

The trio and their partners head for the village. Taiyo hanging close to Euryale.

E"Uh, are you okay?"

Taiyo: "Yes, of course."

*Lunamon hops down from Kylie's arms and starts looking around*

*Lunamon notices a boot footprint, Hitomi & Salamon a set of hoof footprints, Taiyo & Euryale small claw footprints, & Cameon larger clawed footprints.*

T"Looks like most of these prints are going this way."

*She points to the horizon.*

Azuma: "Then let's follow them."

Taiyo: "What all made these?"

She looks at Agumon's feet as they could be his for all they know.

Lunamon:<Hey, look at this. It could be human.>

*She points at it*

Kylie:<Or a digimon in boots.>

Cameron:<Wow, whatever was here is pretty big.>

*Agumon is in Koromon form right now, so he just thinks she's staring at Euryale's boobs.*

Koromon<Her eyes are not down here.>

*Euryale walks around, looking at the boot prints.*

E"They don't go in the direction of the other tracks. They must be the attackers."

Kylie:<I wonder if it could be a foot print from the expedition team.>
