Old Ones Return (II)

Azuma: "Civilized bunch, aren't they?"

Kurata<I should say not. Just mention it when you report back.>

*He uses his ID card to get them into the Digital Gate chamber.*

That's the joke.

Taiyo: "Where are we going today?"

Lunamon:<Gotcha!>

*They walk towards the portal*

Kurata<There is a mountainous region some distance from the desert. As far as I can tell, no data streams from the jungle or the desert link to it. Other than that, I know nothing about it.>

Kylie:<Hopefully we won't run into Senthose again.>

Lunamon:<We probably will.>

Azuma: "So you don't know if we'll be encountering our new friend? Lovely."

Kurata<The hope is that you won't.>

Lunamon:<Yet we probably will.>

Azuma: "Is there an echo in here? I'm sure that's been established. Anyway, we're checking out the place to see if it's suitable for the villagers or is there something else you want us to do?"

Kurata<As always, report back any interesting anomalies, and pursue any potential leads against the mercenary forces, provided it is safe to do so. But, in general, that is your only assignment.>

Azuma: "All right."

Lunamon:<Let's go.>

*And so they find themselves on a plateau in a series of reddish-brown mountains. Occasionally, they see golden gears of various sizes sticking out of the earth. Thiera is heading for the edge of the plateau.*

Taiyo: "This place is kind of nice."

*Lunamon and Kylie follow Thiera*

Lunamon:<See anything?>

Kylie:<I guess we need to find food, water, and shelter for the villagers.>

T"It doesn't seem like it's very easy to get around in...."

*There is a sheer drop to a ledge about 30 feet down. A Bokomon blows some bubbles up at them.*

T"How cute!"

*...Only for a Tokomon to rush around from the other side of the mountain, open its giant maw, & devour it. Thiera looks shocked & appalled.*

D<Heheh...well, that takes care of the food situation.>

*Lunamon watches with her mouth open*

<I hope getting water is less violent.>

Patamon: "And you thought I was bad scaring the neighbor's cat."

Azuma: "At least you didn't eat it."

T"I don't really think that we should be encouraging this...."

E"It's nature. Maybe if they had some other options, but sometimes, it's kill-or-be-killed."

*Thiera turns around, folding her arms.*

T"Alright, whatever, but even if that is true, we still don't know if this habitat is right for them."

E"Well, then we'll just take some pictures to bring back to--what the--?"

*She digs around in her pocket & pulls out the Blue Card.*

Kylie:<The blue card!>

Lunamon:<It must be magic.>

Biyomon:<Really?>

Azuma: "Perhaps it can't exist outside of the Digital World."

E"That has to be it. I'm not wearing the same outfit from yesterday, so it's impossible that I just missed it. But why would they make it that way?"

Azuma: "To prevent its use in our world likely. An Ultimate could cause quite a bit of destruction. It's enough what we've already encountered can."

Lunamon:<Or to prevent Hypnos from taking it.>
