Old Ones Return (II)

*They follow, Kylie checking her phone once again*

The trio follow.

*Once in the chamber, Kurata begins booting up the Gate. He motions to Euryale, who comes over. He hands her a digital watch.*

"What's this?"

<Make sure not to enter the beam until that reads 4:30, but don't wait once it does. The beams switch destinations according to a pattern that is not apparent unless examined through my special observation equipment, so they can be tricky to navigate.>

Azuma: "Is there anything other than who or what attacked the village you want us to find out?"

*They prepare to enter the gate, Cameron once again texting his Mom that they will be late*

Kurata<That is the primary objective, but don't ignore anything that might be of interest.>

*Kylie nods*

<Will do.>

Azuma: "All right. Ready when you are."

*Presumably they enter the Digital World & eventually cross into the beam. What comes next is them being sucked up as through through a tube. They lose consciousness in a flash, & reawaken on a stone path outside of a jungle. Euryale looks back & does a double-take when she sees that the entire jungle is sitting on a chunk of rock just floating in the sky. Agumon approaches the edge & looks down.*

A<We're above the clouds. Pepper Breath!>

*He fires, blowing a hole through a cloud.*

A<I don't know what we're floating above, but it isn't the desert or the village.>

Patamon: "I wanna see!"

Patamon fires a Boom Bubble and goes through the hole presumably left behind.

*Biyomon files down to get a better look*

*Biyomon is lost in the clouds. Biyomon is retarded. As mentioned previously, it's not clear what they're floating over, but whatever it is, it's very dark. Unlikely to be the wasteland, which was sunny, with red & brown hued rock.*

Cameron:<Biyomon!>

*Biyomon flies back in the direction he came from*

<Nothing.>

Patamon fires a Boom Bubble towards the clouds and flies through the hole.

Patamon: "Pretty spooky down there."

Azuma: "That's it? Anything else?"

Patamon: "I'm not going down there without adult supervision."

*The clouds close over Patamon. He is also retarded.*

"You should really stop flying in there. With nothing but clouds for miles, a thunderstorm or tornado could easily form."

*Biyomon lands next to Cameron*

<Good plan.>

Lunamon:<Let's go explore the jungle!>

Patamon: "We're supposed to look for other things of interest. A big black nothing is...not very interesting."

*As they're walking along the path, they might note that many of the lower hanging leaves are ripped.*

"A large number of animals definitely moved through here recently."

*Agumon stops her, pointing to a vine stretched across the path. She traces its direction with her eyes, & can see a log wedged into a Y-shaped tree.*

"And booby-trapped it?"

A<There are probably more. Just be careful to watch where you're going.>

Azuma: "So they didn't want to be followed. Fair enough."

*They carefully watch for traps*

Lunamon:<Hm, humans, or digimon?>

*Euryale shrugs. As they reach a bunch of grass overlaid on the path, Euryale & Agumon begin to skirt around it, as it is obviously a spike pit. Further down the path, a Toy Agumon shuffles into view, holding a bunch of bananas. When it sees them, it drops the bananas & runs frantically further into the jungle.*

"Hey, wait!"

<...Does shouting, 'hey, wait' ever actually work?>

*They follow Euryale around the trap*

Lunamon:<Don't worry, we're friendly!>

*Lunamon waves*

The others skirt around it. Patamon flies over it.

Patamon: "I'll get him!"

Patamon flies after ToyAgumon.

Azuma: "Wait, stop!"

*The Digimon just runs, or waddles, as fast as it can without running back. It screeches in a scratchy, rough voice that sounds, well, like it comes from grinding a bunch of LEGOs together.*

<Help! Someone help me!>

*Meanwhile, Patamon keeps having to swerve to avoid low hanging branches & vines. Euryale & Agumon start running along behind.*

"There's got to be an easier way to get through this jungle!"

Azuma: "Anyone have a Twin Sickles card?"

Patamon: "Stop screaming, we want to talk!"
