The Arrival

*Senthose puts his fingers to his temples & closes his eyes in an effort to gather the mental fortitude necessary to feign concern & suppress narcissistic rage. When he opens his eyes, he gestures to a nearby bus stop.*

"Considering it is on the other side of campus, perhaps it would be wise to get a ride there."

*The paramedic turns to Hector.*

<What in the world is he on about?>

Jane<Right. Well, he should be in a psychiatric facility for at least a month. But there's not much I can guarantee. We can't prosecute him with his mental illness, & he won't be able to pay for medication once he's out.>

E"Fine. I'll help, Thiera."

T"I really appreciate it. The more the merrier?"

N"So, should someone, like, tail this guy?"

R"Are you nuts? He already called the cops on us once."

Grimm furrowed his brow a little, "Well, okay then."

"Uhh," Hector rubbed the back of his head. "Like he said, something jumped us and knocked him over, hitting him in the head a bunch of times. It happened fast, I don't really know what did it."

<I will go as well.>

*Eve finishes her poptart*

<Trailing him doesn't seem like it would do any good.>

Same, same. I was thinking about going for a walk in the park today, would you like to join me?

And so Azuma buggers off to go watch cartoons.

Taiyo: "I'll go with you."

"Hm, oh yeah," Noct said, perfectly happy to take a bus rather than walk. And so they wait.

*Eventually, they walk into the health building & take the elevator up to the 2nd floor. A man in a lab coat with a pink shirt looks up from the desk.*

"We suspect she may have been bitten by a snake, or something."

*He points to Gabe.*

*Euryale's gang walks...TO THE LIBRARY! Since clearly no one has a laptop, Thiera looks at the map for an available computer lab.*

T"Damn, it's pretty far away from the stacks. I think maybe we should have some people on computers, & some--"

E"--In the stacks, communicating through text, right?"

T"Yeah. It seems like the most efficient way of doing things, to me."

*The paramedics confer with a doctor for only a couple of minutes before walking back to Hector.*

<We really don't think there's anything for us to do, here. Just make sure he doesn't try to sleep for at least 8 hours. Unless there's something you haven't been telling us...?>

*After Jane leaves, Grimm gets another message. This one is a picture of the Shadow standing on his doorstep. He can hear Jane driving away.*

*Azuma is presumably watching cartoons without incident. Like an asshole.*

*Eve nods*

<Do we know what this priest's name is?>

Gabe nodded, "I think I might have hallucinated, and I felt waves of hot and cold."

Taiyo: "Who's doing what then?"

...Considering recent events, I would advise that you don't go for a walk in the park.

"I... don't think there's anything..." Hector said, avoiding eye contact. "I'll just take him home, then."
He began fishing out his phone to call a taxi.

Grimm reached under his cassock for his bayonet, looking to the door and around the room.

*The abyss stares back at him.*

*Eventually, a taxi arrives in front of the hospital.*

R"Grimm. Father Isaac Grimm."

T"I don't know. Which would I be better at?"

R"If you're going to fish for compliments, make it about something glamorous, like your crystal blue eyes, or your silky golden hair."

*Thiera & Roatha blush furiously. Thiera putting a hand to her mouth.*

T"I...I don't know what to say...."

R"I...I did not say that. Well, I did, but what I meant was--so I see myself as kind of a computer person. Nero & I can relay our findings to you."

*Thiera frowns.*

T"Oh...okay...."

*He stands up, fetching a clipboard.*

<Well, let's take you to one of the rooms, do some tests.>

*He opens a door to a sterile white room with blue counters & medical examination bed. The stirrups indicate that it is probably usually a gynecology room. Senthose raises an eyebrow.*

"First day on the job?"

<No, I'm a couple of weeks in, why?>

Gabe isn't so stressed out that she can't see the humor in that, but walks in behind the doctor anyway, "Uh, how long is this going to take?"

Mimiru is a little grossed out by Roatha and Thiera's display of affection.

*Eve shakes her head, trying not to grin*

<Calm down you two. I'll search on the internet.>

D : Has something happened?

...Not 24 hours ago you called me and said you were attacked by the Shadow. Do you really think you should be going on a leisurely stroll right now?

Hector and Eduj climbed into the taxi, and Hector stated his own address.

He moved over to the door, listening and looking out for absolutely anything.

*Still nothing.*

*The taxi guy starts driving.*

<You ever thought that absolutely anyone could be in one of these things?>

<About an hour. By then, if there's dangerous poison in your system, we'll know it.>

*He gets out an empty syringe.*

T"Well, someone else needs to hit the books with me!"

E"Do I have to?"

Eve:<We can switch, Euryale. It's absolutely no problem.>

Gabe frowned, not liking needles, or the wait. Though she wasn't a fan, she was used to blood work being done since she needed it for sports. "Well, alright, lets get this over with..." She said, rolling up her sleeve. Mortal took a seat in one of the chairs in the room.

Noct pointed with her thumb over her shoulder, "I'm going to go wait in the waiting room where I can use my phone." She then turned and headed off to do just that.

Once there she sends a text out to Sab and Aroma saying, "Had a little issue with Gabe. We think it might be a snake bite. At the hospital now, but everything seems fine." As she hit send she noticed her second to last conversation was with Astarte, and sent her out a text saying, "Hi. How are you?"

Taiyo: "I bet you'd be a great help."

I don't know... I hope you don't mind if I don't feel like going out just yet. I did just wake up.
She received Noct's message.
Hey. I'm alright, you?

"What?"

Grimm opened the door.

*Aroma checks her messages & totally doesn't overreact.*

"Oh my God! Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod! Just...oh my god!"

T"No, since Taiyo will probably go with Euryale, we'll have an equal amount of people on the computers & in the stacks. But no secretly making out behind one of the shelves, we're on a job!"

*She wags her finger at Euryale scoldingly.*

*Senthose follows Noctis out while the guy draws some blood from Gabe.*

<Gonna have to take this into another room to test it.>

*Eve goes off to one of the computers, and searches Father Issac Grimm*
