Episode Two: The Point of Absolute Zero

*Roatha looks to see if they have any more kindling to throw on.*

R"How do we even know when to switch watches?"

Azuma: "When you decide it's been long enough."

Azuma takes some sticks off the pile which exists as three of them had collected kindling and adds it to the fire, stirring it around with another stick which he tosses in.

*Terriermon grabs a stick and starts playing with it until Eve takes it away*

<Not now, please.>

Terriermon:<But why not?>

Hibiki and BlkAgumon have passed out cold... or at least BlkAgumon has. Hibiki is still mostly awake but silent.

R"Well, you're up, so why don't you go for it? Euryale could probably use the sleep."

E"Hey, now that you mention it, how can we be sure this place has a typical day/night cycle? At the poles of Earth, those can last for months."

Azuma: "Yeah, I won't be going back to sleep for awhile. Anyway, we can't even be sure we're in a typical arctic environment. It could just be Digital Winter."

Eve:<We'll have to wait and see.>

*She pokes the fire with the stick she took from Terriermon*

"Pretty much."

R"'Digital winter'? What does that even mean?"

E"Sure feels like real winter to me."

Azuma: "Digital World has digital seasons? Why are you still awake?"

R"Well, I can't just fall asleep at the drop of a hat!"

*Eve shakes her head*

<Let's not wake everyone else up.>

Patamon: "Like me. Jerks."

"This is so not working" Hibiki let's out a chuckle. "You know, we know almost nothing about each other. Maybe we should talk about ourselves to pass the time?"

*As soon as Hibiki says that, Roatha & Euryale are fast asleep.*

*Eve stares at the fire, her eyes beginning to close*

Patamon eventually falls back to sleep. Hitomi leaves Salamon by the fire which Azuma tends to and sits beside him.

Azuma: "Couldn't sleep or can't get back to sleep?"

Hitomi: "Won't."

Azuma: "You too, huh? Yeah, not sure what to make of it all."

*Terriermon pokes Eve, causing her to blink*

Terriermon:<(Eve?)>

Eve:<Yes?>

Terriermon:<Nothing.>

"Certainly beats living a boring normal life huh?"

That morning, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. It's a little warmer, so BlackAgumon and Guilmon still feel fairly rotten, but not as much as the night before.

Patamon hovers in front of Azuma's face, poking him.

Patamon: "Wake up, Azuma."

Hibiki yawns and shakes BlackAgumon awake.

BlackAgumon slowly wakes up and grumbles.

*The others stir.*

R"So, we're heading out, then?"

Azuma stirs, opening his eyes to an inflated Patamon.

Azuma: "Jeez!"

Patamon: "I'm hungry."

Azuma: "Might as well. Might be a good idea to try and feed these guys."

Taiyo stirs as well.

E"Well, hopefully there's fish in the ocean, because we don't have that much food with us."

Azuma: "There's birds by the sound of it, if anyone wants to catch one."

Azuma brings up the map.

Azuma: "Functions fine. Must have been a glitch, last night."
