Old Ones Return (III)

Angemon flies through the portal.

*Since no one asked any questions after emerging, Kurata just informs them that they are dismissed for the day, while staring at his screen & doing something on a handheld calculator.*

Azuma: "Figured he'd have asked how it went."

Taiyo: "I know it's not Friday and all, but if you don't have anything else to do, do you want to go hang out somewhere?"

Lunamon:<Let's all hang out together.>

"I do have something to do: School in the morning. Just try to be patient, tomorrow will come soon enough."

Taiyo: "Err, right."

*Kylie crosses her arms*

<Can we try to find a time we can all hang out? It sucks to be always left out of stuff.>

*Euryale scratches the back of her head.*

"Well...there's always the weekend, I guess...."

Taiyo: "How about Saturday?"

Kylie:<Yeah! We could have a picnic in the park or something.>

*Euryale folds her arms.*

"Sounds good to me."

Kylie:<So, what time?>

Taiyo: " After noon?"

"Alright, we can meet at the picnic table, then."

*Euryale heads for the elevator.*

Lunamon:<We'll bring the food!>

*Kylie and Cameron head for the door. Kylie takes out her phone and texts Thiera*

We're meeting at the picnic table in the park Saturday afternoon. I hope you'll stop by.

Taiyo follows Euryale, the other two follow not at all interested in the weekend plans.

"Wouldn't it make more sense just to pick up our own food & meet there?"

*She pushes the button, & when the elevator opens up, she steps inside & pushes it again. She offers her free hand to Taiyo.*

Taiyo takes Euryale's hand.

Taiyo: "Would be easier than trying to guess what everyone likes."

Lunamon:<I guess.>

*They follow Euryale and Taiyo into the elevator*

*And so the next day finds them once again in Kurata's office with Thiera nowhere in sight. Laying on Kurata's desk is a white mechanical drill bigger than a man's upper arm. The non-pointy end ends in a bulbous orb that has several Space Oscillation Devices implanted in slots within it. Kurata gestures to it.*

Kurata<This is the Space Oscillation Drill. While the devices implanted in it ordinarily burrow between dimensions by causing the particles that make up space time to violently fly apart, this drill elongates the effect of the whirling particles, creating a pathway that instead leads to other planes within the same universe. To give an example, if we were to use it in this room, pointing it at the sky, we would open a path to the moon. Or at least within the moon's orbit. Any questions about how it works, before I move on to the mission at hand?>

Azuma: "Is that thing safe to use?"

Lunamon:<For once i agree with Azuma.>

Kurata<You all have flying Digimon, correct? Just look before you leap. Other than that, it is exactly as safe as the Space Oscillation Devices.>

Azuma: "Agreeing with me is never a good sign."

Kylie:<Alright. Let's go!>

*They start towards the digital gate*
