Old Ones Return (III)

*If LadyDevimon notices that the area around her left eye is now showing gridlines, she gives no indication. She then blasts through his throat with Dark Energy. The tables turn when he reverts to a weakened Angemon, & LadyDevimon dives, slamming him into the ground & slapping him repeatedly. Nearby, Myotismon slaps the arrow away from him, & more Airdramon approach from the data stream, flying around Angewomon.*

<Really, now. Just stop. You tried your best, but now it's over.>

*He claps his hands, & the other Digimon stop attacking as he approaches the humans.*

<I know, why don't you join us?>

*Euryale turns towards him, glaring. Myotismon smiles & makes a shushing gesture before spreading his arms wide.*

<You in particular are a very promising candidate for BioHybridization. Now, it's not like what you think. You & your Digimon would exist in the same body, with both of your minds in-tact. We could give you access to the full limits of each other's abilities. No one will ever be able to separate you. You can't be killed, nor your Digimon deleted, for as long as you are together. And, of course, you'll all be saved from the Digimon Genocide if you join us. What do you say?>

*As the Divermon had the jump on them, they were unable to completely evade the attack. Kyubimon has 2 harpoons stuck in her side, while Lekismon has 1. To their shock, they can see their data flowing down the dark ropes. The Divermon scramble to avoid the attacks, thrown this way & that by the explosions, but they continue to hold on.*

Cameron:<How about no way in hell?>

*Karatenmon swoops down, using Feather Flash on the Airdramon*

*Kylie scans Piximon's Spear, then Lekismon dives down and tries to skewer some Divermon*

Angemon struggles to force LadyDevimon off while Angewomon flies down, attacking LadyDevimon with Saint Air.

Kyubimon flies higher while Taiyo tries to pull a harpoon out of her partner.

*The second she tries to do anything, all of the Airdramon descend on AngeWomon, biting into her & trying to tear off her wings. Karatenmon is unable to cover her as the Gizumon fly up to form a shield, & the Gorillamon & Gwappamon start shooting at him. Angemon's mask thing starts to crack. In answer, Euryale tries to stab Senthose in the face with one of her katars. He catches her wrist, then catches the other when she tries to launch a surprise attack to his stomach. She kicks into the side of his ribs.*

<So predictable.>

*He flips her up over his head so that she lands painfully on the ground. She rolls to avoid the Crimson Lightning he shoots, but he keeps shooting more, & the misses are getting increasingly narrower. The other Digireapers resume their attack, Hitomi & Azuma quickly becoming surrounded by Drimogemon & Kuwagamon.*

*Taiyo manages to rip it out, but her hand is severely burned by whatever power is flowing through it. The other one desperately clings to Kyubimon even as she lifts the Divermon off of the ground. Others jump onto it & they begin climbing the dark rope. Meanwhile, the Divermon that Lekismon attack don't even bother firing their harpoons, they just throw the dark ropes around her & begin pulling them tighter.*

Angewomon uses Heaven's Charm to force the Airdramon back. Angemon forces a fist into LadyDevimon's stomach attacking with Heaven's Knuckle.

Azuma and Hitomi back up, both behind the Brave Shield.

Taiyo's eyes tear up as she pulls on the other harpoon.

Don't cry. If you cry, you'll lose.

Kyubimon flies over the volcano.

*Karatenmon flies up then fires his blaster at those firing at him. Cameron ducks behind his own Brave Shield*

*Lekismon twists to avoid the ropes, then flies higher up. Kylie takes off her jacket and covers her hands, then tries to pull out the harpoon*

*What Lekismon does is get tied up & revert to Lunamon. Also, since Kylie was riding on her, she is probably burning. The Divermon approach & cut the wings off, using their harpoons like knives. On Taiyo's end, she manages to pull out the harpoon & the Divermon fall into the volcano. However, one manages to jump up on Kyubimon's back. It grabs Taiyo by the shoulders.*

*LadyDevimon stabs him with another dark claw attack thing, & he reverts to Patamon. She stands, lifting him up by his ears. Meanwhile, Euryale manages to shakily rise to her feet. The Digimon that Karatenmon & Angewomon deal with are repelled, but for the most part not destroyed.*

Barbatos<There. That wasn't so hard.>

Senthose<You sustained a lot of injuries defeating that 1 Digimon.>

Barbatos<Shut up.>

S<We should end this. Activate Program: Summoning.>

*Holes like those created from the Space Oscillation Devices emerge in a ring around the battlefield. Out of them emerge a BlackWarGrowlmon, an Infermon, a NeoDevimon, a MegaSeadramon, an Asuramon, a Dagomon, & an Andromon. Things just go from bad to worse as the force of the attacks knock the Brave Shields out of Azuma's & Cameron's hands.*

Angewomon fires a Celestial Arrow at LadyDevimon.

Azuma continues to shield Hitomi this time with his body.

Taiyo scratches the Divermon across the eyes and tries to push it away.

*Kylie, teeth gritted, slashes Aero Wing and Radiant Aura to protect Lunamon, who then blasts away any Divermon that got close, before taking to the air again*

*Karatenmon also fires his blaster at LadyDevimon*

*The attacks miss wildly as the remaining Airdramon, Gwappamon, & Gorillamon dive on them to pin them down to the ground. It becomes clear that they are just a sacrifice when they are blown away by an Atomic Blaster & a Guilty Claw. BlackWarGrowlmon & NeoDevimon jump on Karatenmon & Angewomon, respectively, to pin them down. They sustain enough damage that they revert to Champion & lose their Digi-Modifications. Myotismon grabs Euryale's punch & palms her forehead hard enough that there's an audible crack. He then jabs the arm he's holding near the elbow. It also cracks as it bends the wrong way. Euryale screams before Myotismon grabs her & lifts her by her throat. When Greymon can finally move, he sluggishly attempts to charge before a bunch of Gizumon dive on him, holding him down & electrocuting him. While he roars in frustration, a Drimogemon stabs at Azuma's stomach.*

*Taiyo can't even get enough leverage to reach its eyes, but she manages to imbalance herself & Divermon so that they tumble off of Kyubimon. Kylie can barely manage to slide the cards, & in any case, Lunamon is so weakened that the Modifications immediately break & she regresses yet another level. Surprisingly, the Divermon untie them, but continue to hold on to them. In the ocean, a dark shape can be seen approaching the beach.*

Kylie:<Taiyo!>

*Kylie picks up Moonmon, who struggles to get away*

The two dive in opposite directions.

Gatomon uses Cat's Eye Hypnotism on the NeoDevimon.

Kyubimon dives to catch Taiyo.

*...Towards the jaws of 2 waiting Kuwagamon! NeoDevimon doesn't seem to care, headbutting Gatomon so hard that she regresses again. Greymon regresses & becomes buried under all of the attacking Gizumon. Myotismon leans down, dashing Euryale against the ground a few times before tossing her aside. She lays there unmoving, blood coming from her head, mouth, & nose.*

Barbatos<She dead?>

Senthose<No, but she will be. Don't play with your food, just get the job done. I'm going to make sure that the others are dealt with.>

Barbatos<Aww, but I wanted to rip his ears off!>

*She holds a claw wreathed in darkness up to Patamon's throat as Myotismon approaches Azuma & Hitomi.*

*Again, the Divermon hold them apart. Kyubimon is successful in catching Taiyo, but also catches the Divermon. Down below, MarineDevimon rises from the depths & begins to ascend the volcano.*

The Digimon thrash around trying to escape their captors, Patamon attacking with Boom Bubble and Salamon with Puppy Howling.

The two scramble away from the Kuwagamon and stand, Azuma in front of Hitomi.

Taiyo again tries to wrestle get the Divermon the hell away from her as Kyubimon lands, away from where MarineDevimon had begun its climb, Digivolving to Toamon, and striking the Divermon with her brush.

*Saberdramon uses Night Roar on his captor, while Cameron backs away from Senthose*

*Moonmon watches, depressed*

<I'm the most useless person here.>

*None of the attacks reach their captors, let alone do anything. However, they find themselves freed when the Digimon holding them are blown off by a blast of air & a bunch of flaming lion heads. An IceLeomon, a Leomon, & a MadLeomon rush in to pick up Patamon, Gatomon, & Biyomon & Agumon, respectively.*

<Hey! Hands off!>

*A GrapLeomon suddenly shows up behind him & spins multiple times, repeatedly roundhousing him until he flies away. After he does so, a BanchoLeomon saunters up, removing his coat & draping it around Hitomi & Azuma. The Digimon roar at him, but are bisected by a sword slash from GrapLeomon, who continues on to attack Dagomon & co. SaberLeomon tackles LadyDevimon, then jumps towards the Gizumon, gathering them up in his jaws & tossing them around, before spinning to slash across NeoDevimon's face.*

*Fortunately, the Digivolution Aura knocks Taiyo & Divermon off of Kyubimon in different directions. Taomon puts a large hole in Divermon right away. It tries to shoot her with a harpoon. Meanwhile, MarineDevimon looms over Moonmon & Kylie. The Divermon that aren't holding them still bow.*

MD<Excellent work, minions. The Nightmare Soldiers may be a lost cause, but with their power, we may be able to fend off the invaders.>

*Cameron is startled, but manages to nod*

Presumably with their partners in tow, they make their way through the jungle, not going too far so as to see if one of the Leomon is bringing Euryale along.

Taomon creates a Ying Yang shaped shield and counters by hurling a bunch of paper sutras at the Divermon.

Taiyo scrambles to her feet and gets behind Taomon.

*They are not, as all of the Leomon are necessary to form a line blocking off the jungle. Those who can let out a variant of Fist of the Beast King, which the BioHybrids either tank or dodge, & then come after them.*

*His long, creepy tentacles apparently decide to rub their cheeks. Meanwhile, a small Parasimon climbs down over its shoulder.*

Azuma: "Keep going. I'm going back for her."

Salamon: "This is all your fault, you know?"

Azuma: "Chew me out later."

Hitomi, carrying Patamon and Salamon continue through the jungle while Azuma heads back towards the beach.

Taomon and Taiyo make their way to the section of beach where Kylie was last spotted.

*Kylie shivers, while Moonmon jumps out of her hands and tries to digivolve*

*While he reaches Euryale, Agumon grabs her fallen D-Power & starts hammering buttons until her armor finally grows & shrinks back into a card. Then he comes over, not looking at Azuma. IceLeomon buys some time by freezing the ground so that their enemies lose traction. SaberLeomon bites Senthose's goddamn throat. LadyDevimon tries to jump on him, but is paralyzed when his fur flares out like porcupine quills.*

*Again, that's not possible. MarineDevimon grabs the Parasimon & reaches for Kylie with it.*

MD<Because I was thinking, if humans can turn into Digimon, then maybe I can send you back to the human world to recreate the Nightmare Soldiers there.>

Azuma picks Euryale up, putting an arm around his shoulder and really just drags her to the jungle.

*The Divermon who aren't attended holding Kylie & Moonmon captive turn & shoot at Taomon while Devimon's tentacles swing at her. Devimon himself drops the Parasimon, which clings to her shoulder with its legs.*

*In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lions probably aren't sleeping, because they can hear roars, explosions, & whimpers intermittently from behind them. Agumon brings up the rear, carrying Euryale's D-Power & card.*
