Old Ones Return (III)

*They end up waiting outside of the door, as only Kurata has the keycard to the chamber. He walks up with the others, swiping his card.*

Kurata<...Now, as I was saying, I've found that the mercenaries are attempting the same thing as we are. At the moment, they are ignoring the caves, so I've chosen to deposit you in there. Unfortunately, for all of its protection, it's not a very ideal spot, & will probably take most of your time in order to break through to the next zone.>

Azuma: "And will this attract their attention should they be nearby?"

Kylie:<But we got attacked in the caves yesterday.>

Lunamon:<By one of the corrupted digimon.>

Kurata<They searched the caves, but abandoned them. I can't be certain whether or not they will pick up your D-Power signals, but other than that, you should be undetectable.>

Cameron:<I suppose.>

Biyomon:<Let's get this over with.>

Azuma: "We can see their signals to know when to leave. Someone who could pass as a relative of Euryale's is apart of their ranks."

Kurata<Hmm...not sure who that may be. I'll take a recording from your D-Power while you're in the Digital World & see if I can identify this person.>

Azuma: "All right."

And so they presumably go through the gate.

*And wind up in the place where Azulongmon's smithy used to be. The embers have long since gone out, so after the Gate closes, they're left in the pitch darkness. A soft white glow returns to the chamber when Euryale sets down the drill & activates it. Balanced against impossible odds, the drill portion spins, a torrent of white particles erupting from its base as it begins to sink into the ground. Agumon pokes it, & his claw & arm begins wrapping around & around the drill, growing exponentially longer as space is distorted. When Euryale pushes him back, it snaps back to normal.*

"Stop that!"

<What's the big deal? It doesn't hurt anything. Why do you never let me have any fun?>

Azuma: "Because screwing around with something that could send us near the moon is fun."

Kylie:<I don't think it'll send us to the moon from the digital world.>

Lunamon:<Maybe it the digital world has a moon....>

"How should I know? Just don't touch it."

*Euryale folds her arms & leans against the wall, then looks around.*

"Wow, they really cleared this place out. Must have melted down all of his tools & stuff for bullets."

Kylie:<Yeah. It's really sad....>

*Upon remembering Zudomon, Kylie looks rather sad*

Azuma: "If it can send us near our moon in our world, who knows what acrewing around with it can do to us here. Wind up in some deliberatly monochrome town populated by scarecrows."

"Professor Kurata said that it was completely safe, & what are you talking about?"

<We'll make them pay for what they did.>

Lunamon:<Yes, we will. We'll make them pay for all for the innocents they slaughtered.>

Azuma: "Those are some bold words."

"...You know, I kind of expected him to show up in the doorway & make a smartass remark."

<Don't jinx it!>

"...Still not showin' up."

*Lunamon glares at Azuma*

Kylie:<Well, we have the blue card, right? Maybe we could try and beat him.>

Azuma: "And still be at a disadvantage."

"We'd have 6 ultimates. Maybe we should take the fight to them. End this, right here & now."

Lunamom:<I agree. Let's make 'um pay!>

*Biyomon nods*

Azuma: "We know little of their combined forces. And they've already shown capable of taking on an Ultimate."

"Won't know until we try, right?"

Lunamon:<Yeah. Stop being so down about everything.>
