Old Ones Return (III)

Azuma: "None here."

Taiyo: "No..."

Kylie:<We're good.>

*Lunamon nods*

E"Alright, let's get going."

*She turns & starts walking, holding out the Blue Card.*

E"We'll want those in the attack team to use the Card first. Excluding myself, of course, because I've already used it."

Cameron:<Alright, thanks Euryale.>

*Biyomon holds out his hand for the card*

Azuma: "So swipe it and forget about it? Easy enough."

*After Biyomon takes the card, a soccer ball sized amount of bark blows off of a nearby tree trunk, just over Euryale's shoulder.*

"They've spotted us! Keep going!"

*Euryale & Agumon start running, Euryale slashing a card. Her body glows bluish-silver before the Chrome Digizoid armor appears on her.*

*Everyone runs after her, Cameron taking the card and swiping it. He then passes it to Kylie, who does the same thing. Kylie then tries to pass it to Taiyo*

Taiyo races to catch up to Kylie and grab the card, swiping it and holds it out to Azuma who has to fall back to get it.

*As they're running, more tree trunks are exploding beside them, as some begin to fall. Euryale quickly takes 2 cards in her hand & slashes. Agumon blasts a tree falling towards them with ice & then fire, shattering it. They trade, Euryale taking the Brave Shield, Agumon the D-Power. Euryale then falls back to the end of the line, crouching & raising it above her to try to cover the group as Agumon heads up to the purple data stream arching down from the sky & blowing aside dead leaves, trying to awkwardly hold the D-Power up in 1 claw & push buttons with his other claws, until the screen comes up showing boiling lava pouring down a craggy volcano.*

A<Uh, I don't think this one's safe...Kurata says it should change in another 5 minutes! Can we wait that long, or should we try to find another?>

*As he's talking, the data stream begins to wobble, moving in circles. Agumon jumps back to avoid being sucked in. Helicopter rotors can be heard approaching.*

After swiping the blue card, Azuma passes it to Hitomi who swipes it.

Cameron:<Do we have much of a choice?>

"Just try to stay away from the beam! (If only we had Wizardmon....) Whoever can provide us the most cover should Digivolve to that form now!"

*The beam suddenly surges towards them. Meanwhile, the aircraft can above can be heard dropping things that whistle through the air as they fall.*

*Biyomon digivolves to Saberdramon, trying to cover the team. Everyone else just trues to stay away from the beam*

Hitomi is the last to swipe the card.

*Flying above the treetops, Saberdramon witnesses the missiles explode. Those below only hear the booms & see the fire spread over the canopy as Euryale rolls away from the beam. The helicopters then open fire on Saberdramon.*

*Saberdramon uses Night Roar on the helocpters before diving below the trees*

Azuma: "How much longer?"

A<I don't know, exactly! I think it's still a couple of minutes!>

*Overhead, Saberdramon breaking some helicopters & causing them to fall into the trees prompts branches to break & fall down, some on fire. Further, there are sounds of large animals moving towards them through the forest, & Airdramon flying towards Saberdramon from above.*

Renamon, Salamon, and Patamon Digivolve, forming a defensive parimeter around the humans close enough together.

*Saberdramon flies towards Airdramon, clawing with Black Saber. Below, Lunamon digivolves to and entering a fighting stance*

*It dissolves into data & red goop, but part of Saberdramon's claw is dissolves in the attack. More Aidramon circle around, blasting spears of wind at her.*

*Through the trees, infected Drimogemon, Kuwagamon, Gorillamon, & Gwappamon approach, most with wires extending from their backs, trailing off to parts unknown. Those who have projectile attacks, do so.*

Kyubimon fires off a volley of fireballs to intercept the attacks while Angemon attacks a Kuwagamon with Heaven's Knuckle and Gatomon with the Cocytus Breath card attack a Drimogemon.

*Lekismon leaps out of the way, then uses Tear Arrow on Gorillamon. From below, Cameron stares up at Saberdramon*

*Saberdramo absorbs the data then flies up above the Airdramon, using Night Roar on them*

*This turned out to be a very, very bad idea. Along with the data comes the red blotches, which dissolve chunks off of Saberdramon's torso. Meanwhile, the Airdramon speed towards him, trying to bite into him from various angles.*

*A few of the Digimon dissolve into data, which goes to heal the wounds of those that did not. They retaliate, advancing.*

<It changed! Now it goes to a bunch of islands!>

*Soon after he says that, the branches begin falling in force, until there's practically a wall of fire falling on top of them. Euryale holds the Brave Shield above her head.*

"Not a moment too soon. Everyone in the data stream!"

Cameron:<Saberdramon!>

*Saberdramon folds his wings and dives toward the data stream. Meanwhile, the others jump into it*
