Old Ones Return (III)

The three attack before backing into the data stream after their partners.

*Euryale & Agumon head through last, at which point they find themselves on a beach, except for Saberdramon, who has dived into the sea. Further inland is a jungle, but not a very large one, as peeking through the trees, they can see the ocean on the other side. If they look around, they will find that there are islands all around, ranging from 50 feet away to off of the horizon, & the larger ones have large mountains at the center. Aside from the islands, data streams sweep through the ocean, sucking up torrents of water. When enough collects, it starts to rain.*

"Alright, we don't have much time before they come through! Team A, Digivolve & form a perimeter around the datastream! Team B, head further inland to investigate!"

*She makes eye contact with Taiyo.*

"Good luck. I hope to see you again very soon."

Taiyo looks very disheartened.

Taiyo: "Come back safe."

Before taking off with the rest of the group, she looks at Azuma who just nods.

Gatomon Digivolves, emerging from the egg as Angewomon while Angemon emerges from his own as MagnaAngemon, the Excalibur on his right arm, deployed.

Both humans stare wide eyed at the sight of their partners.

*Saberdramon flies up from the ocean, losing his large size and gaining more human like features*

Cameron:<He's....wow.>

*Karatenmon lands near the other two ultimates*

*The Digimon before begin to surge out of the data stream, and so Agumon Warp Digivolves. Metal Greymon exhales a stream of fire over them.*

"Alright! We're too close for our Digimon to use their big attacks! Get any self-defense equipment that you can, & fall back!"

*Euryale does just that, running towards the edge of the jungle.*

*Meanwhile, the other group quickly reaches the other end of the jungle to find the next island 50 feet away.*

The two follow after Euryale.

Both Digimon take flight, MagnaAngemon not being suitable for long range combat on his own, Hitomi lends Azuma her Cocytus Breath card which MagnaAngemon uses on the encroaching Digimon while Angewomon fires a Celestial Arrow.

Taiyo looks over her shoulder back in the direction she came from then towards the beach, dejectedly.

This would be a great place to be with Euryale.

*Cameron slashes Brave Shield and MetalGarurumon's Blaster, then follows after Euryale. Karatenmon fires the blaster at the incoming digimon.*

*Kylie walks along beside Taiyo, Lunamon skipping along a head of them*

Kylie:<Um..you and Euryale are really cute together.>

*The attacking Digimon revert to data & red blobs, which are absorbed by the Airdramon flying through from above. The next wave of Digimon is accompanied by several of Gizumon AT, which rapidly fly ahead of the Digireaper hybrids & float around the Mega Digimon. MetalGreymon jabs one with his claw, firing missiles. From the ground, the Gizumon AT fires a pair of quick laser bursts that cause the missiles to fizzle into nothingness, before it resumes flight like nothing happened.*

*Meanwhile, the other group begins to hear loud explosions coming from the other end of the island. A plume of smoke starts to build in that direction.*

Karatenmon:<What are those things?!>

*Karaentenmon uses Feather Flare on the Gizumon*

*Kylie turns back in that direction*

<Should we go back?>

MagnaAngemon flies towards a Gizumon, slashing with Excalibur while Angewomon fires a Celestial Arrow at an Airdramon.

Renamon: "We follow through with the plan."

Renamon Digivolves and Taiyo swipes Aero Wing, not too happy about leaving the others behind as she boards Kyubimon.

*The unsuspecting Airdramon is taken out. The others begin making passes over the island, blasting spears of air that narrowly miss the humans & throw up clouds of dust. Euryale hands her Brave Shield off to someone. MetalGreymon dashes in front of Angewomon to block a stab from one of Gizumon's appendages with its claw, then grunts as he gets hit with a laser. To his shock, he finds himself paralyzed & phasing in & out. MagnaAngemon barely puts a gash in his Gizumon, & the ground forces find themselves swarmed with Kuwagamon & Drimogemon, biting & clawing at them, while the Gorillamon & Gwappamon begin forming a ring around the data stream.*

*As they approach the next island, they notice that a small plume of smoke is coming from the mountain situated in the middle.*

*Lunamon digivolves and Kylie slashes Hyper Wing, the Lekismon follows Kyubimon*

Kylie:<Volcano?>

*Karatenmon uses the blaster on the Gizumon attacked by MagnaAngemon*

Azuma takes the Brave Shield.

MagnaAngemon backs off, attacking with Cocytus Breath.

Angewomon creates a halo that surrounds the Gizumon, radiating a rainbow light.

And so Kyubimon flies towards the mountain.

*The Gizumon are mostly just inconvenienced, although MagnaAngemon manages to split one in half, & Karatenmon manages to poke a hole through another one's head, at which point it simply flies up & lashes at it with the exposed wires. The other crawls across the sand towards MagnaAngemon. Though they've managed to force back the Digimon that were swarming them, the humans are still getting pelted with air spears, Euryale covering her head & trying not to listen to the clangs against her armor. With all of this going on, Senthose & Barbatos emerge from the data stream & walk casually across the beach towards the combatants, holding hands presumably just for the absurdity.*

*It is indeed a volcano. But mixed with the smoke pulsing from the spots of lava in the rock below is something else. By the looks of it, black wisps of data.*

*Karatenmon flies out of the way, then uses the blaster again*

Cameron:<Great, it's them.>

*Cameron covers himself with his own Brave Shield*

*Lekismon flies down to explore, but stays out of harms way*

Azuma crouches in front of Hitomi, shielding them both.

Angewomon fires a Celestial Arrow at the grounded Gizumon while MagnaAngemon flies to confront the Airdramon.

Using Excalibur, it forms a circle in front of it which takes the shape of a gate that opens up and begins drawing the Airdramon in.

Kyubimon slowly begins to descend.

S<This would be such a lovely spot, but....>

B<They're ruining it.>

S<Exactly. Go get 'em, Tiger.>

*He lets go of Barbatos's wrist. Barbatos is encased in a blood red energy field & bursts out of it as LadyDevimon, flying up behind MagnaAngemon & stabbing at his chest. He manages to get most of the Airdramon, but eventually they intentionally dive bomb it & clog it up. While this is going on, Angewomon feels something tug her arm & spin her around. Suddenly, Senthose is smiling up at her, still holding on to her Standard Female Grab Area.*

S<Now, don't think I don't recognize you. Hey, you've got a new tongue by now, don'tcha?>

*Karatenmon manages to destroy another Gizumon. Meanwhile, MetalGreymon just keeps getting shot with lasers. His wings & cybernetic enhancements evaporate until he drops down to Greymon.*

E"I have to get over there, or else they're going to kill him!"

*The Kuwagamon & Drimogemon seem to have other plans. As they stampede past the paralyzed Greymon & soon begin to surround the humans. One Kuwagamon dives in & gets Euryale's waist in its mandibles, so she deploys her katars & starts stabbing it in the head. It roars, squeezing harder.*

*Half-buried in the igneous rock & dust nearby is a face with a fierce expression, a set of curved horns, & massive sharp teeth. It is an onyx statue.*

MagnaAngemon blocks with the shield on his left arm and counters with Excalibur.

Angewomon: "Bastard!"

She punches him in the face.

Taiyo: "Do you recognize what this is?"

Kyubimon: "I do not."

*Karatenmon flies down towards Greymon, using Feather Flash on anything trying to attack him. Cameron shields himself with his Brave Shield*

<Greymon! Talk to me!>

Lekismon:<Same here.>

*The Kuwagamon eventually dissolves into data, but Euryale narrowly avoids a drill strike before a second Kuwagamon smacks her into a tree with one of its arms. The Drimogemon turns on Azuma & jabs at him with its nose.*

A<I...can't...move....>

*Senthose tries to grab her fist & twist her wrist, but only succeeds in twisting the attack away from him before his shoulder cracks.*

"You sound tense. I think you have too many responsibilities. I can help with that."

*He pulls out his pistol & fires a shot at Hitomi, only missing because a Kuwagamon got in the way. Said Kuwagamon howls & dissolves into data. Senthose frowns. Meanwhile, LadyDevimon flies out of the way & throws bat things at MagnaAngemon.*

Azuma uses the Brave Shield to protect against Drimogemon's attack. And Senthose's unsuccessful shot at Hitomi as she's with Azuma.

MagnaAngemon intercepts the attack with beams from his hands and charges, Excalibur pointed outward like a Spiking Strike.

A cross of light flashes in front of Senthose, Angewomon attacking with Heaven's Charm.

<Damn it!>

*Karatenmon fires his blaster at the Drimogemon*

*Azuma is not speared, but he is knocked on his ass. A Kuwagamon tries to eat him, but has its leg cut off by Euryale & falls over. Drimogemon apparently dissolves. Greymon recovers enough to breath a stream of cover fire over the Gizumon. However, they are also being blasted with energy blasts & fucking CDs. Senthose elects to not get hit, Digivolving into Myotismon in order to shield himself from the attack. At this point, he punches at Angewomon, also hurling Crimson Lightning at her with that hand. Up above, LadyDevimon takes the attack & then, grinning sadistically, grabs the wrist of the sword in her stomach in one claw & MagnaAngemon's throat with the other, tearing into both.*

*Assuming the other group gets out of the volcano at some point, they find a mess of Divermon climbing the mountain. Seeing them, the Divermon stop & fire their harpoon guns at them. Each one has some kind of rope made from the same black data tied from the harpoon shaft to their wrist.*

*Lekismon flies out of the way then uses Tear Arrow on the Divermon*

*Karatenmon blasts the Gizumon with his blaster*

The two move back to get their backs against something.

Angewomon's uses Heaven's Charm to defend against the attack and takes flight, firing a Celestial Arrow at Myotismon.

MagnaAngemon tries to force the sword upwards. Using his free hand, he blasts LadyDevimon in the face with Soul Banish.

Kyubimon flies back and rains fireballs down on the Divermon.
