Old Ones Return (IV)

*The soldiers & converted Digimon try to follow them, but aren't fast enough.*

T"Wait, the Digimon will need to revert before we can fit in the Digital Gate chamber!"

E"Damn, that's true. MetalGreymon, Wizardmon, give us some cover!"

*And so they turn around. MetalGreymon fires his nipple missiles, causing a large explosion & cloud of dust. Wizardmon waves his staff & dark clouds gather overhead, striking the battlefield with lightning & hail.*

*Crescemon adds her arrows before reverting to Lunamon, followed quickly by Karatenmon*

Taiyo deactivates the Expansion Space!! card, Taomon shrinking to normal, carrying Taiyo in her arms.

*MetalGreymon lands.*

E"Those who are still Digivolved, continue providing cover!"

*She, Thiera, & Wizardmon hop off of him as he begins to revert.*

*As they are not digivolved, Lunamon and Biyomon remain near their partners*

Kylie:<I hope you have a plan for getting out of here.>

The Digimon land, Angewomon firing arrows, MagnaAngemon firing beams of energy, and Taomon hurling shuriken like seals.

*Unfortunately, the attacks don't hit very wide, & so the enemy starts getting around them. Wizardmon kicks up another sandstorm as Euryale throws a space oscillation device.*

E"Now let's get out of here!"

They all follow through the gate.

*So do they*

Kurata<I heard the plan. I will be working on getting approval from the defense department.>

E"So what about until then? We could do raid-style attacks on the enemy bases. I think we did a lot of damage to their forces this time."

*Kurata adjusts his glasses.*

Kurata<I don't think that's wise. Even if that's true, they will likely be expecting you to interfere, & be more conscious of their defenses from now on. Best not to expose you to unnecessary risk, at least not until we can put the plan into action.>

Kylie:<What plan?>

Cameron:<Oh yeah, we'll have to fill you in.>

Azuma: "Shouldn't be looked at? Having a parasite in her and all can't have good side effects."

Kurata<Ah, yes, you've rescued our valued teammate! I suppose we should send her in for a check-up.>

Kylie:<Probably a good idea.>

*She turns to the others*

<Thank you all for rescuing me.>

Azuma: "Sure."

Taiyo looks around for a clock.

*There isn't one!*

Kurata<If you'll just come with me, please.>

*He opens the door & gestures for Kylie to follow. Euryale claps Thiera & Taiyo on their shoulders, prompting the former to jump.*

E"I'm really proud of you guys! Okay, I had to repeat a couple of orders, & you didn't split up like I told you, but in general, I really think we pulled together as a team. You 2 in particular really made the cornerstone of our defense. With your partners, of course."

*She nods to Wizardmon & Renamon. Wizardmon scratches the back of her head.*

D<Well...thanks....>

Taiyo: "Sorry..."

Renamon just nods.

Azuma: "For a Mega-level, that Parasimon went down easily."

*Kylie and Lunamon follow*

Cameron:<Yeah...>

E"I don't know, we blasted it a lot."

Biyomon:<Parasimon isn't strong on its own.>

Azuma: "I guess that makes sense."

E"I don't know. You have to keep in mind, we've mostly been fighting artificially enhanced Digimon, like the Bio-Hybrids."

Cameron:<We'll see what the tests say.>

Azuma: "That could make a difference. That certainly was a real Parasimon. I think."

*At the elevator, they meet Kylie, who was released because they couldn't find anything wrong with her after an X-ray, a blood sample, & a physical.*
