Old Ones Return (IV)

Taomon throws a handful of sutras at the vegetables while the other two head towards Kylie's signal presumably with Cameron.

*Cameron and Karatenmon do indeed head off in that direction*

OOC: And no one split up like they were supposed to.

*Pretty soon the sand is joined by a noxious cloud of foul smelling smoke & chili peppers from Vegimon & Red Vegimon respectively, & they find that Wizardmon's spell is not protecting them from this. Wizardmon hurls a few fireballs from her staff while Euryale produces one of her katars, grabs a stray vine, & cuts it. A Weedmon screeches.*

*The sand near the others blows away as the tent that Kylie is in is destroyed. A Parasimon the size of an RV hisses at Kylie as she slashes a card. Crescemon takes to the skies on Radiant Wings & blasts the Parasimon with a dozen ice arrows, but it bats them away, unfazed, as it continues after the fleeing Kylie. Crescemon dives towards it, slashing one of its tentacles off.*

*Karentenmon dives toward Parasimon, using Feather Flare on another tentacle*

Taomon paints a seal in front of her, a blast of white energy is fired from it at the mob of plants.

Angewomon fires an arrow at the Parasimon while MagnaAngemon stabs at its eye with Excalibur.

*Apparently noticing all of the fighting, & from some of the sand being blown away, there are now gunshots being aimed at them. So far, they're only striking wide, hitting sand or soaring off into the sky, but it is disconcerting. Their visibility is also decreased from the chili peppers burning their eyes.*

T"The more we attack, the better their aim will get!"

E"Yeah, but the less we attack, the closer the monsters can get."

*Weedmon try to get behind the Digimon & lash out at the humans with their tentacles.*

*Parasimon roars as it explodes into a cloud of data.*

*Cameron runs towards her, stumbling slightly*

Going by what she can hear of the Weedmon, Taomon spins around, swinging her brush.

That was too easy.

They pursue, the angels taking the lead.

*Taomon whacks Euryale in the back of the head & knocks her over. Then a bunch of Weedmon grab her. She & Wizardmon try to hack at the tentacles to free her. While Taomon is presumably distracted, a trio of RedVegimon jump on her.*

<Hey! They're trying to get out with the prisoner! Get some of the monsters over here!>

*And so assholes start shooting at them.*

Taomon squirms and struggles. Taiyo swipes the Aero Wing card and Taomon takes flight then begins to dive once she's high enough.

The two duck and weave trying to not get shot. The angels fall back to pick their partners up.

*Karatenmon swoops down to pick up Cameron, trying to avoid bullets. They then fly towards Kylie, and pick her up as well*

*Taomon can't get off of the ground with all of the Red Vegimon holding her down. They lash at her with chili-coated tentacles. Thiera looks around frantically, then grabs some sand & throws it in a Weedmon's eyes. It bats her aside with a tentacle, leaving a gash on her stomach. Euryale & Wizardmon are still trying to get free from the Weedmon.*

Taomon strikes at the RedVegimon with her brush.

*Crescemon takes to the air after Karatenmon. Meanwhile, Cameron starts to cry*

Cameron:<Kylie...>

*Kylie gives him a hug, grinning*

*Euryale, Wizardmon, & Taomon continue not really getting anywhere. They can hear soldiers approaching.*

*Karatenmon and Crescemon head back to the other group*

*So kind of them to finally stumble across the group being mobbed, especially now that the Weedmon have started choking Euryale.*

Taiyo swipes the Inflation Space!! card supersizing Taomon who picks the RedVegimon off of her, tossing them in the direction the soldiers can be heard coming from.

Azuma: "Let's regroup!"

*Crescemon dives down, and fires a strom on ice and darkness arrows at the weedmon. Karatenmon slashers at them with his swords*

Wizardmon<NO!>

*She fires a blast of wind & fire that throws the arrows off-course.*

Wizardmon<They're too close, you might hit h--rgh!>

*Weedmon & Vegimon start to pile on him. Karatenmon kills a few of the Weedmon that have Euryale trapped, & she's able to get away.*

E"We got what we came for! Let's get out of here!"

*And none too soon. The sand is starting to settle, & they can see the hazy figures of the soldiers being knocked down by flying Red Vegimon.*

*Crescemon lands and slashes at the digimon piling on Wizardmon, Karatenmon doing the same*

Angewomon fires an arrow towards the soldiers while Taomon stomps about on the vegetables that MagnaAngemon isn't cutting down.

E"I said to leave them!"

*The one Digimon who follows orders, MetalGreymon, flies in & lands on all fours, breathing a stream of fire over the Vegimon to get them to back off.*

*Karatenmon takes off, followed shortly after by Crescemon. Crescemon, however, waits to make sure Thiera and Wizardmon make it out*

The angels and Taomon pick up their partners and follow MetalGreymon out when he begins to move.
