Old Ones Return (IV)

Hideki rolls out of the way while Monodramon unleashes a point blank Darkness Wave on Raidramon.

Karatenmon:<We all aren't exactly sure how we got here. Could you please tell us what's going on?>

Lyra:<Hey guy, you better run!>

*Monodramon is far too busy being blown away by lightning. It then jumps away from a Gizumon laser. Flamedramon fires a few quick blasts at both Gizumon & Hideki. Up above, the sky flashes as though on fire.*

"We need a plan!"

GeoGreymon<What are you talking about? The passage between the worlds has been closed for years.>

T"Well, could you at least tell us where we are?"

GeoGreymon<The El Dradimon memorial.>

T"What happened to El Dradimon?"

*GeoGreymon roars, but stops upon being slapped in the face by LadyDevimon.*

GeoGreymon<Are you looking for a fight?>

D<No, we'd win, & it'd be boring. Now just answer the question!>

GeoGreymon<What kind of sick game is this? A human brought El Dradimon into your world & publicly executed it. Along with all of the Digimon still left inside.>

T"That wasn't our world. So maybe this really IS a different Digital World.>

GeoGreymon<We don't have time for this!>

Hideki again dives and rolls out of the way while Monodramon growls and readies to pursue Raidramon.

Hideki: "Monodramon, yield!"

Monodramon stops and turns back to Hideki, a stunned expression on its face.

Hideki: "Withdraw!"

Monodramon falls back to Hideki's position.

Karatenmon:<Is something going on?>

Lyra:<I got nothin'.>

*Kotemon grips his sword tightly*

GeoGreymon<No one has time for whatever nonsense you're trying to pull!>

"We're not trying to 'pull' anything, trust us, we have to get back to our world to stop Professor Kurata!"

*Only now does the herd stop moving, turning to look at her one by one. Thiera fidgets.*

GeoGreymon<Kurata is still alive? This is serious, are you sure you're telling the truth?>

*Gizumon fires a laser, which Flamedramon avoids by leaping into the air, where it becomes covered in flames & dives towards the Gizumon, slashing at it. Once it passes, Raidramon also jumps at it with an electrified bite. Despite taking the 2 attacks, Gizumon remains whole, & simply spins around & blasts Raidramon, dissolving a large portion of its armor. Flamedramon starts pelting it with fire bullets from both hands.*

"I say we run while they're all distracted!"

<But if we don't do something, those 2 will be deleted forever....>

Lyra:<Won't those two just trying to kill that guy?>

*She gestures at Hideki*

Cameron:<What do you mean "still alive?" We saw him like 15 minutes ago and he was sure alive and well.>

Karatenmon:<Wait, that was in our digital world. Could it be the same person?>

Hideki backs the hell away from the ongoing battle, Monodramon who keeps looking back towards the fight in tow.

<Well, yeah, but they're still Digimon....>

"I don't think it will be an issue."

*She points to Raidramon shooting lightning into Gizumon's side. Its metal plates start to break apart & it sparks, but fires a laser that strikes Flamedramon's chest plate & destroys it.*

T"Oh! Oh! Ohohohohohohohohoh!"

D<Breathe.>

T"That's how Kurata showed up & developed all of that new Hypnos technology! Mr. Greymon--"

GG<GeoGreymon.>

T"Mr. GeoGreymon, could you please tell me how Kurata...seemingly died?>

GG<I don't know, but the Bosses might.>

Cameron:<You mean he's from this digital world?!>

Karatenmon:<Can you please take us to the bosses?>

As shit isn't going south, the two and their partners join the conversation with GeoGreymon.

*The GeoGreymon flexes its tail in a certain direction.*

GG<They go where they want, when they want. Last I knew, they were headed that way.>

T"Well...how will we know them when we find them?"

GG<Boss GeoGreymon is like us. Boss Damon is a human, just like you. He should be the only one in this world.>

Karatenmon:<Finding one human in the entire digital world will be hard, but at least he's the only one.>

Lyra:<I think we should get out of here.>

Azuma: "A lot of ground to cover."

Monodramon looks appaled at the suggestion to flee and looks to Hideki who nods in agreement with Lyra.

*Majority consensus wins out, & they flee into the next street over. Once Gizumon is destroyed, the Armor Digimon resume their pursuit, Raidramon keeping pace with them while Flamedramon gets sort of left behind. They hear sirens as police approach from one side of the road, accompanied by black vans. To their other side, way off in the distance, a vague outline of a giant bird floats in a haze of extreme heat, fighting what can only be described as the outline of an equally massive demonic entity. From its swiping claws & roars, the very sky seems to rip apart, the haze of heat being distorted in some places, replaced by pure white void. The bird dodges each of these strikes, & the heat becomes more intense as the demonic entity is pushed back. Up above, the Angemon-species Digimon are gradually blinking out of existence as lasers streak across the sky.*

E"Then we'd better start covering it. Thanks for the information."

GG<Yeah, whatever. Just so long as you leave, & the demon stops smacking me.>

D<You deserved it.>

*Karatenmon heads off to the direct the GeoGreymon indicated*

Lyra:<What the hell is going on?!>

And so everyone goes off into the great unknown.

Hideki: "Bad things."

Monodramon turns to Raidramon and attacks with Darkness Wave.

*That finally proves enough to damage Raidramon. It stumbles, nearly half of its unarmored form now exposed gridlines, & desperately charges lightning along its horn & spikes & fires them at the group. Meanwhile, Flamedramon takes this opportunity to streak through the sky in a blaze, trying to get behind them. Off in the distance, the bird flies into the sky & disappears, the monster following after it.*

*They eventually arrive at a massive city of pointed steel buildings connected by walkways. The streets are alive with Guardramon & Mekinorimon moving forward in synchronization, & datamon roll all over the buildings & the undersides of the walkways. Surrounding this complex is a metal wall slightly taller than MetalGreymon, & more grassland, with a large, misty body of water on the horizon.*

Azuma: "This is kind of a nifty place. Assuming you're into the whole pyrex and glass scene."

Hideki gets the hell on out of the way while Monodramon evades and counters with a Darkness Wave on Raidramon's grid side.

*Lyra and Kotemon get out of the way, then Lyra slashes Thor's Hammer which Kotemon then uses to smash Flamedramon's face*

Cameron:<I guess we need to ask if he's here.>

Karatenmon:<These digimon don't seem the most talkative....>

*Since context would indicate that they've barely moved at all, most of these assholes are struck by lightning & left lying in the street. The Darkness Wave causes the Raidramon to dissolve. Flamedramon lands near Hideki, closes his claws into a single point, & punches downwards with a flaming fist.*

*MetalGreymon flies over the scene.*

A<Hey, do you know where we can find "the bosses"?>

*One by one, every Digimon stops what it's doing & turns towards them.*

Datamon1<The correct response depends on the parameters of who requests the information, & to what function.>

A<What?>

Datamon1<In vernacular, "Who are you & why do you want to know?">

*Lyra and Kotemon stumble up, then notice Flamedramon advancing on the fallen Hideki*

Lyra:<Run, damn it!>

Karatenmon:<We're friends.>

Cameron:<We need help defeating someone named Kurata, and we thought the bosses might be able to help.>

Azuma: "Pretty sure they know Kurata. Not that he's still alive, but they know him."

Hideki rolls out of the way while Monodramon absorbs Raidramon's data and advances on Flamedramon.

*Lyra & Kotemon try, but the muscle spasms prevent that from happening. The data that Monodramon absorbs helps to stabilize him. But since he doesn't attack, or anything, Flamedramon aims a flaming kick at him. Gomamon spits out a bunch of Marching Fishes.*

*The robots make strange beeping & chattering noises to each other.*

Datamon1<...I will lead you to them. Follow me.>

*It presses the wall, & a port opens, large enough for 3 very tall men to walk through comfortably. It then enters this space.*

And so they all follow.
