*Lyra runs after him*

Taiyo groans, mumbling something about bellyruns and rolls over, looking at her blearily.

Taiyo: "Hi..."

Hideki: "Straight ahead."

Hideki swipes the Darkness Wave card which Monodramon promptly lets loose with, straight ahead where the signal is.

*It passes through the air, because the Digimon has not yet materialized. In a burst of flame, a Meramon does finally materialize. It spots them, & shoots a dual-fisted fire blast at them.*

*By the time she turns the corner, he's nowhere in sight. Fog is seeping out of a nearby alley.*

E"Good morning. We're thinking we should go into the city, see if we can find out anything new."

*She points behind her shoulder with her thumb.*

Taiyo: "Oh, okay."

Taiyo sits up and stretches, in her usual feline-esque manner.

The two dive in seperate directions, Monodramon rolls and returns fire.

*Lyra checks her digivice*

*There are a couple of weak wild Digimon signals coming through in the alley, & a strong signal just on the other side of the fence of the house beside her.*

*It leaps back when the Darkness Wave starts to cut through its fire, but continues shooting a stream of flame at Hideki.*

*Presumably, they eventually get ready & make the journey towards Kurata's no longer secret base. Thiera gets back on the computer.*

E"Anything?"

T"A bit...Kurata had things called Code Keys, which helps to explain how he captured so many powerful Digimon so quickly. Basically, a group of evil Digimon called the Demon Lords created them so that they could possess humans to revive themselves. They were all weakened & sealed long ago."

<Yeah, we collected those from another mad scientist type when he tried to bring them to our world. I'm still not really sure what his deal was. I think he wanted a promotion, or something. I guess he must've managed to take some with him.>

A2<It's definitely easier than Kurata's method. He had to collect a ton of deleted Digimon data to wake up Belphemon.>

E"But does any of this help us get back & defeat him?"

T"Not really, I'm afraid."

Azuma: "So this is just a bit of a history lesson then?"

Hideki tuck and rolls out of the flames path while Monodramon uses another Darkness Wave.

*Lyra peaks over the fence*

*Hideki can't roll forever, but fortunately for him, Meramon turns his attention fully on Monodramon, the 2 blasts of flame cutting through the Darkness Wave.*

Monodramon dodges and charges, Hideki swiping the Knight's Device card, Monodramon stabbing toward Meramon with the lance.

*Thiera clicks it.*

T"He's a friend of Leomon's. Our Leomon. He says that Leomon confronted Mr. Yamaki about our disappearance, & Mr. Yamaki told him what happened, but...he's been fired!"

E"Leomon?"

T"No, Mr. Yamaki."

E"Oh. That would make a lot more sense."

<And let me guess, Kurata's in charge now? Just like he did the last time.>

*He spits on the ground.*

T"Yeah. So now he doesn't have to steal Hypnos's technology in order to use it against Digimon anymore."

E"But how did they get this message to us?"

T"They found a Space Oscillation Device, & Andromon used it to trace our signal. They don't have a way to get us back yet, but Leomon's trailing another group of Tamers to see if they can help, & the others are searching for the Sovereign, to see if they can help. It seems as though, after Kurata invaded, the Sovereigns were forced to retreat. The same goes for the surviving Celestials. Some of the battle also seems to have spilled into the human world, & destabilized the balance."

*Euryale pounds on the counter, causing Thiera to jump at the loud noise.*

E"Unbelievable! How far are they willing to go? Why are they doing any of this?!"

<Kurata's afraid of Digimon, & wants power over others. He's also good at finding henchmen who are desperate or twisted enough to do his bidding.>

A2<And the rest he tricks into helping him, by pretending to be a good guy.>

*The gash in Meramon's body is covered over by more flames, & he kicks at Monodramon, also releasing a wave of fire.*

<Look out behind you!>

*His voice is gruff, & Lyra hears something whistling through the air toward her.*

*Lyra shrieks and ducks. Kotemon raises his sword and stares in the direction of the noise*

Cameron:<I don't suppose there's any news about Kylie, is there?>

Biyomon:<I hope the Leomon can find us a way home.>

Azuma: "Alot like he did with us."

Monodramon recoils and stabs Meramon again, following up with a Darkness Wave.

<Well, don't feel too bad. He did it with us, too.>

A2<And he kept sneezing on my face!>

T"It doesn't say...I'll see if I can send a question."

*There is a beep in response almost immediately.*

T"They thought she was with us."

*With a chunk blown out of it, Meramon wreathes itself in flames, ducks to the side without the lance, & punches Monodramon.*

*A large boomerang passes over her head & takes out part of the fence, having been thrown by a Sepikmon. A Wormmon comes out from behind him, & shoots a net of silk at Kotemon.*

<Sticky net!>

*Sepikmon catches its boomerang & starts to dance, hopping up & down like the monkey it is & waving its arms, glowing faintly blue.*

*Flames covers Kotemon's sword, then he slashes at the net*

Cameron:<Kurata must have her locked up somewhere.>

Azuma: "Or some weird mojo is going on after that Parasimon thing. Could be working with him albeit against her will."

Monodramon blocks with the lance and counters with Darkness Wave.

*Meramon uppercuts Monodramon before it can get the attack off. Monodramon flies into the air & lands hard on its head. Meramon follows this up by jumping into the air, coming in for a landing on Monodramon while wreathed in flames.*

*As the net breaks, Wormmon shoots bolts of sharp thread at Kotemon instead. Meanwhile, will-o-wisps float off of the blue glow around Sepikimon, expanding & contorting into bluish, translucent, flaming images of Patamon, Armadillomon, Terriermon, Falcomon, & Ballistamon.*

T"She's in the former city of the Celestials."

E"What? How do you know?"

T"Andromon & I were able to hack into one of Kurata's satellites to expand the signal of my D-Power. This connection may be small, but we can still do things to help."

Monodramon somersaults the hell out of the way, turns and Darkness Wave.

*Kotemon dodges then counters with the flaming sword*

Cameron:<Can you tell anything else?>

*Wormmon is too slow to move out of the way, but fortunately, the image of Armadillomon rolls up & takes the attack for him. The image of Patamon fires a Boom Bubble at him while the images of Ballistamon & Terriermon move in on his tamer. The image of Falcomon moves behind Kotemon.*

*Meramon spreads its arms wide, creating an explosion that the Darkness Wave fails to cut through.*

T"There are a lot of Digimon battles taking place back home. The new Tamers seem to be fighting...and losing pretty badly."

Monodramon hurls the lance at it because an attack used to one shot Orochimon is useless.

Cameron:<Great...>

*Kotemon jumps out of the way, then slashing at the Falcomon shadow*

*Leomon gets up & throws off his bad disguise, batting aside the images of Hawkmon & Terriermon with his claws. However, they just reform nearby. Meanwhile, Falcomon dodges & Kotemon is attacked on 3 sides by a Sticky Net, Armadillomon's claws, & exploding bamboo.*

*Meramon catches the lance, wreathes it in flame, & counterattacks.*

T"I think we should send things to help."

E"But we don't even know whether or not they're going to turn out to be good. Remember we had a lot of problems with Tamers? And a lot of them got their D-Powers from Kurata in the first place?"

T"Then we can do something about it later. But if we don't do something, & they are good, then we can't take back whatever happens."

Cameron:<Like what, cards?>
