Episode Seven: Our War Game

R"...Hey?"

E"Yeah, we didn't bring any. We got interrupted by Shellmon, remember? Plus, we didn't know what to put it in."

*Aroma raises a hand.*

A"Mine did, & Sunflowmon Digivolved to Lilamon."

*Euryale points at Taiyo's stomach.*

E"Oh, & something happened with Taiyo's, but it was different, & it hurt her."

*Kylie shakes her head*

<Mine hasn't.>

*Eve holds out her hand*

<Friends?>

Taiyo: "Didn't the same thing happen to you?"

Azuma: "Was is accompanied by a voice you've probably never heard before?"

E"If it did, I didn't notice."

R"How the Hell could you not notice?"

*Euryale thumps her chest.*

E"Because my Crest is right here, & there are a ton of reasons why my chest might hurt at random."

R"Such as you punching it. Or your--"

E"Shut up."

A"Um...excuse me if this is stupid, but...what about the voice in your head?"

E"Maybe I didn't hear it over all of the noises & the racing thoughts I already had? I don't know, I still don't even remember this happening."

*She shrugs.*

Eve:<My crest burned and someone started talking to me. Right before I went to hell.>

Kylie:<Me too...>

Taiyo: "It was at that memorial. Mistymon told us that story as well."

Azuma: "A story?"

Taiyo: "It was about other Royal Knights. It was...depressing."

R"Another thing we have no control over that I'm guessing we're supposed to be able to fix."

E"Well, there's no sense in worrying about it if we don't have any control over it. You guys should get some sleep."

*Eve turns away from Roatha, a bit sad at the fact she was ignored*

Cameron:<How long should each watch be?>

Azuma: "Hour or two? Until you feel tired? Who knows."

E"If we have 2 watches, 5 or 6 hours should be good."

*Roatha isn't looking that way, nor was he specifically addressed, so he shows no signs of noticing.*

Cameron:<We should have more than two watches though.>

Azuma: "Then switch after an hour if you two watches is too few."

E"Two seems perfect to me."

Cameron:<Well, whatever.>

As it's decided, Cameron is now sitting or standing or whatever around a dying fire while everyone else presumably tries to sleep however they try to manage that.

The next day, Aroma wakes up to a burning sensation in her chest, a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] symbol appears over her Crest. In the back of her mind she hears a loud, commanding masculine voice.

???: I hunger for it all!

Elsewhere in the Digital World, a goddess bound to a mountain top screams in pain.

Within the grove is a cave that was not there when they had arrived.

OOC: Fuck character development!

*Since I guess Euryale was 2nd watch, she must already be awake, & therefore she sees this & frowns. Lalamon wakes up & rubs Aroma's head, looking concerned. Guilmon is curled up beside Euryale.*

E"Are you okay? Did you hear anything?"

*Aroma covers her chest, panting. She also props herself up on her elbow.*

A"I...I think so...I heard a commanding voice, a man, he said that he 'hungers for it all.' What do you think it means?"

E"I don't know."

*During the conversation, their eyes travel over to the cave.*

A"Was...was that here before?"

E"No. It wasn't."

A"Do...do you know how it got here?"

E"I'm afraid not."

OOC: Oh man, that was a gooder. Tell another.

Taiyo: "Aroma, are you okay?"

Renamon: "It appeared some time in the night after the fire died."

From the ashes of the fire emerges [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] cute little bugger emerges, everyone's D-Terminal goes off.

The fire disappears, consumed by the creature and it begins to glow and grow, digivolving to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] less than adorable critter, everyone's D-Terminals going off again.

A text box pops up.

Tsumemon says: Can you count backwards from ten?

The ground beneath Tsumemon begins to vanish, leaving behind gridlines.

A"I'm fine."

E"What? Why didn't you tell--"

*Seeing what has just popped up, Euryale punches it right in the eye. Aroma's reaction to the shock is to shriek & scramble back. Lalamon flies into the air, while Guilmon wakes up, stands, & charges a Pyro Sphere in his mouth. Dorugamon & Roatha also wake up, propping themselves up & looking around.*

R"Wha?!"

D<Wha'appened?!>

*Then they both spot the creature.*

<"The Hell is that?">

*Eve goes over to Aroma*

<That happened to me too.>

*Biyomon uses Spiral Twister on the new arrival*

Renamon: "A virus."

Tsumemon scampers off into the cave, leaving a trail of grid lines, Biyomon burns up like some kind of pyro.

Renamon gives chase, witnessing its Digivolution to Keramon.

*Biyomon digivolves to Karatenmon to get this over with once and for all. He uses Feather Flare on the keramon*

Eve:<That's a bit much.>

Keramon is in the cave, so there's no one in sight to attack unless he were to pursue it and risk getting Renamon caught in the crossfire.

The attack is signifigantly weaker than normal on account of no one has eaten since early the day before.

Inside the cave, Renamon witnesses Keramon disappears inside a computer located at the back of the cave. Taiyo scampers in, hers and everyone elses Digivices vibrates, the map opening up showing a symbol that looks like a gate.

*They follow.*

E"A gate."

A"So...how do we get in?"

*Which he did, because fuck letting a stupid rookie get away*

Terriermon:<Hey Eve, can I see your digivice?>

*She shrugs and gives it to him*

Patamon: "Open sesame?"

Taiyo: "Gate open?"

The words Digital Gate Open scroll across the screen of Taiyo's Digivice and in a flash of light they're in a tunnel much like the one they traversed when they first went to the Digital World although there are patches of black scattered about.

Keramon hovers above them, strings of data peeling off the walls and into its gaping maw. It looks at them, hungirly.

Keramon: "Keramon Digivolve too...!"

Renamon jumps at Keramon as it's bathed in light. A tentacle bursts from the light, knocking Renamon down.

When the light clears, Chrysalimon hovers above them, tentacles flailing about.

Azuma: "It's Digivolving so rapidly..."
