Old Ones Return (V)

*Kotemon looks down at himself, then at the other digimon*

"Obviously the thing you need to fight the evil Digimon. God, you're dumb."

*Tsune folds her arms & glares at Monodramon.*

Wisemon<You certainly are not alike.>

*She jerks her face in the direction of Wisemon.*

"You say something, Mummymon?"

Wisemon<Nothing of importance. Also, that is a completely different species of Digimon.>

*Tsune rolls her eyes.*

"Of course it would be."

"Of course not."

*Euryale pulls the covers up over them, brushing her hand up most of Taiyo's leg in the process, which was surely an accident.*

*Kotemon lets out a small giggle*

Taiyo shudders and cuddles up to Euryale, bringing a hand up to her midsection.

Taiyo: "I love you, Euryale."

*Wisemon then sinks back into his book, which slams shut. Leomon lets out a relieved but annoyed sigh.*

Leomon<I'd really hoped you'd handle him more...patiently. You're lucky, you must have made him like you.>

"And why is THAT lucky?"

Leomon<Because that's the test. If Wisemon considers you too hostile or foolhardy, he believes you will extend that behavior to the Sovereign & his domain.>

*After having done it, Euryale lies facing Taiyo with one hand on the latter's side, & the other stroking her face.*

"So what was it like? Not...what we did just now, but...being a Digimon. I can't imagine just turning into someone or something else. Is that how it worked, or were you just inside of Renamon, somehow?"

*Kotemon tugs on Tsune's sweater then points towards the exit*

Taiyo: "It was...I don't know. I'm not sure how we were together, but it could have been better. I felt at one with the Digimon in this world. And they're all suffering."

Elsewhere in the castle, Renamon feels very weird and confused.

"Well, we'll put a stop to that."

*The next day would find them congregating in the castle's kitchen. Thiera & Agumon are dusting as Euryale & DemiDevimon look in cabinets for food, the latter flying to reach the ones up high.*

D<I'm telling you, Digimon mostly just eat other Digimon.>

E"Well, there has to be some reason to have a kitchen here! Ah. It's fresh."

*Euryale had just opened the freezer & found individually packaged meals. She takes them out & starts inspecting them one by one before putting them on the counter.*

E"Japanese food. Looks like they're microwaveable, but we could probably cook them using the stove."

D<You know, I found a TV monitor, but no microwave.>

E"...This place is weird."

*By the time Leomon deposits them back in their own world, the sun is either rising or setting--it's difficult to say.*

"I don't see any Hypnos vans, but I guess they could be undercover."

Patamon: "Maybe we can heat it up with the t.v."

Monodramon: "We need to go home."

*Kotemon nods in agreement*

Cameron:<No kidding.>

*Kylie helps with the dusting, while Cameron starts looking around for silverware or something to eat with. They are assisted by their respective partners*

"They're right over there. I'm not stopping you from waltzing in & probably getting shot."

*Once everyone is eating, King Drasil walks in.*

Drasil<I see that you have found Gallantmon's food stores.>

E"Where'd he get it?"

T"Do you think he'd be upset that we're eating it?"

Drasil<I did not ask on either count.>

D<And I don't care on either count.>

*She says while awkwardly balancing on one foot to hold a fork with her other claw.*

Cameron:<I have to wonder where he got this stuff.>

Azuma: "DigiSuperstore."

*King Drasil folds his hands behind his back.*

Drasil<It matters not. Once you've eaten, you should work on developing the power to Digivolve to Mega.>

<It's not like we have anything else to do, right now. We won't be safe until we deal with Hypnos, & Leomon won't let us back into the Digital World until we rescue the others. So, how do we sneak in.>

*Thoroughly annoyed, Tsune draws the Digivolution card.*

"We don't."

Azuma: "We do that how? It seems almost random."

Biyomon:<Tamer and digimon have to be united, right?>

*Kotemon stares at Tsune, slightly frightened*

<I do not know. Under what circumstances has it happened?>

*Tsune slashes the card, at which point Gomamon becomes surrounded in a blue aura & breaks out of it as he grows into Ikkakumon. Unmarked white cars start shooting at him.*

"Fire at them!"

*Ikkakumon does so, firing Harpoon Torpedoes at the cars as fast as he can, which is only every few seconds, getting slower as he goes along. Still, the attacks break windshields, stab through doors, & even knock a car over. Tsune gets behind Ikkakumon.*

"Now charge!"

*So Kotemon does that*

Cameron:<When Biyomon and I both wanted to protect Kylie and Lunamon.>

Taiyo: "Myself and Renamon were protecting Euryale."

Azuma: "So both the human and Digimon have to share the desire to protect someone they hold dear?"

Monodramon buggers off towards Hidaki's.

T"Or maybe it's just easier to motivate people to protect someone they care about, rather than some abstract like truth, justice, & the American way."

*Euryale, DemiDevimon, Agumon, & King Drasil stare at her as she sinks into her chair.*

T"...What? I can't make a joke every once in a while?"

Drasil<Yes...yes, I believe you are on to something.>

*Ikkakumon plows through the cars, sending them flying, destroying much of their yard, & allowing those 2 to enter their homes unmolested.*

*Kotemon charges into Lyra's home, only to slam into her*

Lyra:<Oh, oh god!>

*She stumbles back*

Hideki viewed the spectacle going on outside until the door opened and he went to see who was waltzing in like the King of England and is taken back by it being a dragon.

Monodramon: "Hideki..."

Hideki: "The dragon from the news...knows my name."

*Tsune also enters Lyra's house. Outside, Ikkakumon shakes, his fur puffing out slightly to make him bigger. He also grabs a car in his jaws & tosses it down the street.*

"Hey, we don't have all day! Gokkakumon or whatever his name is now & I are clearing out in 5 minutes!"

Drasil<I may be able to help those who have yet to achieve Mega to progress. For the others...I know of a level beyond even that.>

A<What? There is no such thing as a level beyond Mega!>

Drasil<Under normal circumstances, there is not. This level can only be achieved by Digimon with human partners.>

A<Whatever, you're just crazy.>

E"Agumon, don't be rude!"

A<Don't take his side, I think we know how many Digivolutions we have!>

E"I'm just saying, we shouldn't fight, especially if he can help us."

A<Yeah. IF.>

T"He's...kind of helped already, since he let us stay here, & closed the zone off from the evil army."

Lyra:<What are you doing in my house!?>

*Kotemon charges upstairs to Lyra's room, then grabs her d-power from Lyra's sock drawer. Kotemon then uses the Spacetime stone card to show Lyra the day they first met*

Monodramon: "You're my partner. We were...seperated, but together we can be reunited."

Monodramon presents the card.

Monodramon: "Swipe this through your D-Power and it'll show you the day we met."

Hideki looks at the D-Power on his waist.

Hideki: "This thing has a name?"
