Old Ones Return (V)

*Reapermon's data dissolves & Volund lands on the sand below. As he tries to get up, he finds a big black lion-man biting into his throat. Volund soon goes limp, so MadLeomon tosses him to the ground. Head bent at an odd angle, sand around it stained red.*

"Holy shit...you...you killed him...."

ML<Just returning the favor. You say we have to destroy the rest of these towers?>

*Euryale punches a spider with her non-paralyzed arm. Soon they are able to shake the spiders off of them. On the other side of the stage, many KoDokugumon meet their demise, but their data is absorbed by the others, who become surrounded by Digivolution pods which break, revealing a group of Dokugumon. They then spit poisonous mist at Hitomi & Salamon. Meanwhile, a hole is burned into the ground where Biyomon was previously standing, with Arukenimon being hit by the blaster & landing somewhere backstage. Mumymon stands up, a gash in his Obelisk shooting out sparks, just as a dozen Gazimon pour into the room.*

*Phantomon rises off of the ground, ignoring that half of its face has been crushed.*

<You have the weapon of an Ultimate, but swing with only the strength of a Rookie. In the end, you will die.>

*Bakemon appear all around Renamon, blowing poisonous mist over her. Phantomon spins his scythe, firing blasts of dark flame at her.*

Etemon<You're startin' to make me mad!>

*Etemon tries to push through Agumon's & Gekomon's attacks. He almost reaches them before he winds up flat on his ass & blown into a wall. However, Agumon's flames are getting lighter & dimer, & the Gekomon's horns quieter, with some just making hollow blowing noises.*

*Lunamon nods*

<Our tamers are being held by digimon and we can't digivolve ad rescue them unless you can help us destroy the towers!>

*Knightmon bends down and the picks up the digimon, then waits for the others before flying off to destroy the towers*

Renamon Kohenkyo's herself with a Bakemon while Patamon attacks Phantomon with Hydro Pressure.

The two get on out of these, Salamon firing off Cocytus Breath.

Cyberdramon takes off to destroy the spires with Darkness Wave.

*Agumon freezes the water stream, putting the undead Digimon...on ice for a while. The Bakemon fly away from all of the dark blasts, then drift back towards Renamon. Their claws wreathed in darkness, they each try to touch her.*

A<What's taking Euryale so long to get back? With more modifications, I might be able to actually beat something.>

*Etemon leans back & jumps to a standing position to get out of the debris.*

Etemon<Well, dream on, baby.>

*As the Gekomon attack, he forms 2 dark spheres & puts them together. The attack keeps growing, absorbing the energy from the Gekomons'. All of the Digimon experience a sudden rush of power, as though their minds & limbs were asleep but now blood is flowing through them again.*

*The Digimon inside of the dome feel a similar sensation as the Dokugumon explode into goop & then data, which Mummymon absorbs to repair his gun. The Gazimon rush to block the exits, though most are trembling & barely able to stand.*

T"I know!"

Mummymon<I won't let you.>

*He fires at the group with his Obelisk as their backs are turned. Meanwhile, Arukenimon can be glimpsed climbing up the wall, absorbing some of the data that Mummymon didn't get to in order to regenerate a lost leg.*

*Gomamon doesn't do much but keep up with them using the Aero Wings. MadLeomon had DNA Digivolved again & used his tremor ability to strike towers from the ground. In short order, all of the towers are destroyed.*

Renamon & Patamon go Ultimate amd begin fucking shit up. Taomon telling the Bakemon it's hammer time while MagnaAngemon takes a stab at Etemon's back.

Salamon goes Ultimate and blocks Mummymon's attack with Saint's Air.

*Biyomon and Cameron biomerge then fire at Arukenimon*

*Knightmon nods and flies towards it*

E"We need to get to Agumon & the others, too!"

*Mummymon shrinks back from the light, covering his face with his Obelisk. He then looks to the Gazimon running out of every available exit.*

M<Get back here, you cowards! The King won't stand for this!>

*Meanwhile, Arukenimon uses her threads to Spider Woman out of the way, & then tries to counter-attack with the other hand. More KoDokugumon fall out of her stomach. When they hit the ground below, they immediately descend upon one another & start eating each other, absorbing their data, growing bigger, & dispersing to all corners of the room.*

Etemon<I'm giving the order, kill on sight! I'll always be a #1 hit, I don't need to worry about finding new fans! And since I'll have to fix my Dark Network anyway, I might as well unleash the heavy metal!>

*The Bakemon make some distance after seeing their comrades destroyed, because they are no idiots. They wave their hands, firing blasts of darkness at Taomon. Meanwhile, Etemon sees Mummymon coming & kicks him out of the way. He then tosses the massive dark sphere, prompting the Gekomon & Agumon to leap aside as it explodes, blowing a 20 foot crater into the ground. Etemon points at Phantomon.*

Etemon<This is ridiculous! Hey, wake up, you idiot!>

A<He won't, I'll make sure of it!>

*And so Agumon Digivolves to Greymon, smashing the ice with his tail, then turning & delivering a Nova Blast. He even loads the data.*

Etemon<Grr...that's it!>

*He pulls out a microphone, & after a loud whistle, he can be heard throughout the building.*

Etemon<I'm giving the order, kill on sight! I'll always be a #1 hit, I don't need to worry about finding new fans! And since I'll have to fix my Dark Network anyway, I might as well unleash the heavy metal!>

*And so Etemon drops the microphone & punches the ground, breaking it & dragging up some kind of huge cable. Soon, more cables burst out of the ground all around him, coiling over him like snakes, until [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] rises, breaking apart the entire east side of the building. Obviously, the others see this spectacle as they approach.*

Angewomon evades and fires a Holy Arrow at Arukenimon.

Taomon conjures up a shield to block the attack then throws a handful of talismans at the Bakemon.

Hideki: "Cyberdramon."

Cyberdramon nods and takes off towards the dome.

*Ornismon shrieks and fires eye lasers to counter before taking to the air, most likely destroying the room in the process*

*Knightmon heads towards the dome as well*

*When the Bakemon are destroyed, wires from the Dark Network lash out, attempting to capture all of the Digimon that come near. The Gekomon are easily seized, & Greymon finds struggles to break free as he's slowly lifted up. DemiDevimon ignores this when she sees the others emerge, wriggling free from whoever is holding her & flying towards her as as more of the dome begins to collapse.*

D<Thiera! I'm coming!>

G<I don't know what's going on, but that's not an ordinary Etemon. Can we beat him?>

E"Agu, hold on!"

*As she pulls out her D-Power & cards, Etemon holds out a hand & fires a massive orb of dark energy at them.*

*Arukenimon is struck by both attacks & falls to the floor, where she begins making more Dokugumon as the others climb the walls & spit KoDokugumon at Ornismon & Angewomon. Meanwhile, Mummymon waves his gun, & eerie, lithe specters made out of the Obelisk's energy rise out of the ground. They rush to attack Ornismon & Angewomon as Euryale & co. head out of the door.*

MagnaAngemon opens up Heaven's Gate to draw Etemon's attacks in while Taomon attacks with talisman shurikens.

Angewomon flies higher and fires an arrow at Arukenimon.

*Ornismon fires on anything that comes near him before clawing at Arukenimon*

*Knightmon lands to set Lunamon down then takes to the air again. Lunamon follows DemiDevimon*

*The Dokugumon around Arukenimon swarm over her, sacrificing themselves to protect her. Arukenimon loads their data, wrapping razor sharp web around Ornismon's claws & wings & breathing poison mist at him. Meanwhile, the spectres twist in midair, continuing to attack Angewomon. Mummymon also fires at her from on stage with his Obelisk.*

*The dark energy passes into the Heaven's Gate, leaving the group unharmed. The wires pulse & convulse, starting from where they were struck & radiating outward, until they swallow Etemon entirely.*

E"Is it over?"

*Then, the whole floating ball of wires becomes enveloped by a Digivolution Egg.*

E"Of course it isn't over."

*When MetalEtemon emerges, the sky immediately darkens & rains black lightning down on them all as he lands.*

*Ornismon blows the mist back at her by flapping his wings. He then fires repeatedly at close range*

Lyra:<Uh, hi.>

Cyberdramon swoops in and swings at MetalEtemon with Desolation Claw.

Taiyo Biomerges with Renamon to become Sakuyamon.

Angewomon manuvers about, dodging Mummymon's attacks, firing arrows at it.

*Since no one did a damn thing about all of the lightning, the Digimon all lose some of their armor plating, particularly in the face. In Cyberdramon's case, it is followed up by a punch to the head from Metal Etemon. Fortunately, having a bunch of bigass Digimon hovering over them protects the humans. For his part, MetalGreymon counters the lightning with fire.*

*Arukenimon is destroyed, but Ornismon's wings are badly damaged in the process & he has difficulty balancing. He also hears the Necrophobic Spectres shrieking towards him like lightning from behind. Once she's forced up against the roof, the Dokugumon ensnare Angewomon with her webs & begin weaving her into a cocoon. Mummymon had been blocking with his gun until it eventually blew to pieces. To compensate, he pulls his staffs out from behind him & unravels some of his Snake Bandages, becoming like a spider.*

*Ornismon fires Cosmic Ray from his mouth, aimed squarely at the spectres*

*Knightmon takes to the air and fires off at Aero Wing at MetalEtemon, then rushes him and attempts to cut off his head*

Sakuyamon conjures up fox spirits to assualt MetalEtemon while MagnaAngemon blasts it from behind with Soul Banisher.

Cyberdramon tries to not get caught in between the rampaging Knightmon.

Angewomon squirms to get away.

*The specters quickly reform as Mummymon ties Ornismon up with Snake Bandages, putting particular emphasis on trying to cover his face. Seeing as Angewomon is now wrapped up as tight as Thiera was earlier, with the Dokugumon still building their webs, squirming is ineffective. A Dokugumon crawls towards her, absorbing Arukenimon's data. Once it reaches Angewomon, its back splits open, something slimy starting to emerge until it is encapsulated by an aura & Digivolves back into Arukenimon.*

Arukenimon<As long as my children live, I won't be so easy to kill.>

*The newly regenerated Arukenimon licks Angewomon's neck, following up with a deep bite.*

*He digs in with his feet & tail to keep from being thrown about. Unsurprisingly, the Chrome Digizoid manages to hold up against their attacks, though Metal Etemon is now glowing red. He kicks Knightmon hard in the chest, further breaking his armor & sending him flying.*

Etemon<Yeow, that's hot! Better make this one a duet.>

*He unhooks the WaruMonzaemon doll from his side & tosses it. The eye within it glows & the doll makes a wicked smile as it quickly expands. It turns its attention towards Sakuyamon & shoots a barrage of purple hearts at her. As it is seemingly distracted, MetalGreymon grabs it from behind, but is stabbed by its massive claws before he can do anything. The cyborg dinosaur falls to the ground with huge gashes in its side. Euryale grabs her corresponding side & doubles over, tearing up. As she does, the D Power falls from her hand.*

Sakuyamon pats the hearts away with their staff while Cyberdramon swoops in and takes a swings at WaruMonzaemon.

Angewomon attempts to conjure up a Saint's Air to push the spider monster away.

*Ornismon fires Cosmic Ray again, this time aimed at Mummymon. He then fires to take to the air again*

*Knightmon tries to catch himself, then uses Aero Wing on WaruMonzimon*

*There are too many hearts to deflect that way, so one eventually hits them. Suddenly, the wounds of the other Digimon become pronounced in their minds. Euryale's side, Cyberdramon's face, Knightmon's chest...they can even feel Ornismon's wings & Angewomon's neck. Accompanying it is a pronounced feeling of powerlessness. MetalEtemon is too strong, many of them are too weak to Digivolve any further, & even if they could, they would probably just turn into monsters. Against it all, they can't help but to sob openly. Because of their misty eyes & the convulsions slowing their movements, they are powerless to stop MetalEtemon from spin-kicking Sakuyamon away. He then steps on her D-Power as she reaches for it. Grabbing her arm, he hoists her up.*

ME<You know, if there's one thing I hate, it's ripoff artists!>

G<Get away from her! Marching Fishes!>

*Of course, he easily destroys the fishes with a wave of his hand, but it's just a distraction from the AeroWing, which knocks him on his ass. Euryale waves off DemiDevimon as she approaches.*

E"No! Help Sakuyamon! I'll be fine!"

*So she veers over towards Sakuyamon. Not knowing what else to do, Thiera uses Radiant Fate, causing DemiDevimon to glow with a purple aura. Euryale again reaches for her D-Power, only for MetalEtemon to grab it with his tail.*

ME<Show's over, Sister. For you, that flying rat, & all of those other talentless hacks in your band.>

*Meanwhile, WaruMonzaemon staggers back. It hops from one foot to the other, waving its arms in the air & jerking its neck at odd angles. With a couple of spins, it fires beams of purple energy from its stomach at each of its attackers.*

*Arukenimon jumps away, landing on a wall. She then bites her web, which turns green. Soaked with the poison mist, it attacks Angewomon's body all over. Mummymon dissolves into data. His last act, conducting with his batons as he's thrown back by the energy beam & his bandages are burning up, is to send the Necrophobic Spectres flying at Ornismon from all sides.*

*Lunamon finally arrives and runs over to Kylie, who also uses Radiant Fate on her. Knightmon counters with Aero Wing before charging WaruMonzaemon and trying to run him through. Lyra just sits on the ground, tears in her eyes*

*Ornismon tries to soar out of range, then uses Cosmic Ray on the spectres*

MagnaAngemon flies to Sakuyamon's aid to dispel whatever it is that has them freaking out.

Cyberdramon flies above and behind WaruMonzaemon, blasting it with Darkness Wave.

Angewomon struggles and overall regrets being in the vicinity of Ornismon.

*They hit him & explode. The damage is bad enough to effectively ground him. Up above, Arukenimon spits out another trio of KoDokugumon, before gesturing at the adult Dokugumon.*

Arukenimon<The Angel is pretty much finished. You eat the bird.>

*And so they begin their descent, spreading nets of web as they go.*

*WaruMonzaemon expands his claw, blocking the Darkness Wave & slashing at Knightmon. MadLeomon jumps on his back & starts biting into his neck & stabbing him with a chainsaw.*

Etemon<I see your friend's fixed.>

*Etemon gestures to Sakuyamon, who now has DemiDevimon perched on her shoulder. He grabs Euryale's arm when she deploys her katar & slashes at him, then twists it until something cracks. Euryale chokes back a scream as she's tossed aside.*

Etemon<I'll deal with you later. Your digipet won't be able to do anything anymore, anyway.>

*So he turns & makes his way towards Sakuyamon, using the same motion to throw the D-Power against a wall, where it literally falls to pieces. He stops when a wall of flame bars his path, caused by Euryale & MetalGreymon apparently spontaneously combusting, the fire magically spreading into a ring that connects Digimon & Tamer. Tsune had grabbed Gomamon & ran away from the fire, over to where Lyra was. She hunkers down & Gomamon shields them by crossing the Aero Wings in front of himself.*
