*As Stefan is running by the bathroom, he sees the Shadow standing inside.*

*She looks at them both with a furrowed brow.*

<Are you family of the patient? Er, patients?>

<The number you have dialed is not in service.>

*Lilith tosses up her hands.*

L"They've already taken way more time than they should, & I can't think of any better options!"

Mimiru: "Azuma's my....err....boyfriend."

For the first time in her life, Mimiru is embarrassed.

Cameron:<No, close friend...>

*Eve looks at Lana*

<What do you think we should do?>

"Eduj's phone isn't even in service," Astarte slipped her phone away and clutched her elbows. "What the fuck?"

Stefan yelped and slammed shut the bathroom door before going about finishing his job and running back to the kitchen, where Grimm was going through an address book he found next to the telephone.

<I'm sorry, but I can't give out any information to anyone who's not an immediate family member.>

*The hall lights flicker.*

Lara<The only way to find out what happened is to go there.>

*She makes for the door.*

Mimiru: "Oh...."

*Eve follows*

Cameron:<Right. Thought so, just had to ask.>

*He heads over to Euryale*

Astarte followed just as reluctantly as before.

"The thing is in the house," Stefan tugged on Grimm's sleeve, who shrugged him off and looked down the hall before going for the telephone.

*Grimm doesn't see it in the hall. Instead, he sees it out the window when he goes to pick up the phone.*

*They find that they have no idea where Euryale went. Or, more precisely, they don't see her down the hall that she went down.*

*Lara looks up, before glancing down over the edge of the stairwell.*

Lara<Nothing's here.>

L"You expected something?"

Lara<Well. It might mean that they have somewhere more important to be. Such as with your friends.>

*Vanessa crosses her arms & looks away.*

V"Technically, they're not MY friends."

T"What if they're just in the elevator?"

Lara<That, I can handle.>

Very much on edge, Mimiru goes down the hall. Maybe she went to the bathroom.

Grimm stared at it for a moment before picking up the phone and dialing Astarte's number, assuming the line was up.

Eve:<Let's go then.>

*It's sort of static-y, he can't tell if it's ringing or not. Then, the phone screams in his ear while someone in the background whispers.*

*Mimiru does indeed find Euryale in the bathroom. She is sprawled out face-first on the floor, as though she was trying to crawl for the exit, with the black monster on top of her, its proboscis jabbed into her back. Her legs & arms have several lacerations, but oddly, there's not a drop of blood anywhere. Mimiru sees itself reflected in the beast's bulbous red eyes before it withdraws its proboscis with a snap & leaps at her, spreading its claws & clicking its mandibles.*

*Lara exits the stairwell, heading for the elevator, which opens soon after she presses the button.*

Lara<We shouldn't all approach the building at once. We should scope it out as much as possible.>

Mimiru ducks, hoping the thing hits the door.

Mimiru: "Euryale, say something!"

Grimm stared out the window at where the Shadow had been or still was and waited to see if the noise would stop.

"And if there's nobody there at all?"

*Cameron, upon hearing the screaming, starts heading over to the bathroom*

<Mimiru, Euryale?!>

Eve:<We could split into two groups.>

*The Shadow is no longer there, at least not visibly. The screaming stops, but the static & whispering continue.*

<Watch...sleep...kill...dogs....>

Lara<If nobody is there, that is useful, it means we can investigate uninterrupted.>

*The elevator soon opens onto the lobby & she strides out of the door, the others reluctantly following.*

L"Like, what, half of us go in, the other half wait across the street?"

*I don't know if Cameron just barges into the women's room or what, but Euryale does not say anything, & the beast is now on Mimiru's back, clawing at her with all 4 legs while clicking its mandibles.*

Mimiru backs into the door or wall whichever is behind her, slamming the monster into it.

Grimm put the phone down and waited a few moments before trying again.

*When he gets there, Cameron barges in, screaming for help all the while. When he gets in, he looks for something to hit the monster with*

Eve:<That's a possible.>

<...God...less fail...ure....>

*It is a restroom, not a weapon's closet. He just sees a bunch of pink toilet stalls & white sinks. The beast takes no notice of being rammed into a wall, & Mimiru promptly feels its proboscis jam deep into her side like a spring-loaded knife. She also feels the wound quickly growing ice cold & hears a sound not unlike forcing slushie through a straw.*

*Dr. Schreiber & Vanessa eventually head off down a side path.*

S"Where are YOU going?"

Lara<To get a pair of binoculars. You want to SEE what's actually going on, correct?>

L"There's no time to argue, let's just keep going."

*True to her words, she & Thiera do not stop.*

Mimiru continues hitting it against the wall, elbowing it as well.

Mimiru: "Do something!"

*Cameron takes off his shoe and hits the monster with it for lack of better things to do*

Eve:<We shall keep you informed.>

*She follows the Psyches*

*It still seems to be not really inconvenienced. Eventually, Mimiru falls to her knees from weakness.*

*They eventually arrive at the crosswalk where there is already a group of about 10 people. The signal soon flashes to Walk.*

L"Stay here, I'll come back to get you. Senthose, you stay here with her."

T"What if you, ah, get lost?"

L"Then find the Professor."

Mimiru keeps trying to elbow it because Cameron ain't any help and Euryale's dead.
