Taiyo takes it, not that she wants it.

*Nero flips off Eve from his vantage point of lying flat on the pavement.*

L"We'll be there in a few minutes."

T"Taiyo...I don't even know what to say...."

*Roatha snaps his fingers & points from the cop to Grimm. He reluctantly pulls the magazine out of his gun & tosses it to Grimm.*

Grimm loaded the gun and made a few seconds of glaring eye contact with the cop just to keep him wondering, then looked back at Ira, "Shall I go?"

Astarte would stay up for as long as Eve wanted to hold her, then return to slumping down on the pavement.

Tirea:{Please hurry...just ask for us at the front desk.>

*She hangs up then looks over at Azuma*

<I, um, have some really bad news about the others from our group...>

*Eve doesn't react at all*

Azuma: "Don't say it."

L"Alright. Do you want us to stay on the line?"

*She starts walking.*

R"Yeah, by all means, get out of here, ya damn crazy kid."

*Tirea had already hung up so...Anyway, she hobbles back to her bed*

<I'm so sorry...>

*Tears begin to drip down her face*

*Eve follows Lilith, still helping Astarte along*

Astarte is as uncooperative as possible, basically making no effort to move herself along or stay standing up. The only real evidence that she's alive is the eyes twitching around and briefly lingering on any human being they spot.

Grimm takes his leave of them and makes for the church where Stefan is still probably waiting outside.

Azuma punches a wall.

I'll kill him.

Nurse<...Is something wrong?>

*Lilith hangs up too, then.*

Tirea:<There's nothing you can do...>

Astarte remained dead weight.

Grimm continued on his way, dusting off his cassock.

Azuma: "You talking to me or the nurse?"

*Meanwhile, the others arrive at the hospital. Lilith proceeds to the front desk & asks if they can visit with Tirea & Azuma. They are told that the doctor said they were expecting visitors, so they can go ahead.*

L"Thanks."

*Lilith heads into the hallway where Tirea & Azuma are, with the nurse hovering overhead.*

L"Hey. Sorry it took us so long."

*Tirea wipes her eyes on her sleeve*

<Glad the doctors didn't give you guys any trouble.>

*She looks at the nurse, hoping she's planning on leaving*

Astarte found a place on the floor to sit.

Grimm arrived at the church and brushed silently past Stefan and his questions, making for the church doors.
"Wait!" Stefan hesitated to go anywhere near the doors. Grimm showed no signs of listening. "The- uh- the thing is in--"
Grimm opened the doors.

Nurse<If you need anything, just call.>

*She sets off.*

T"I updated the files on the way here, but to be honest, I don't really know why. It just felt better than doing nothing."

L"Ira implied that he'll be leaving us pictures. I guess...there's no point in beating around the bush: Cameron, Mimiru, & Euryale were killed in a bathroom by that black creature. Eduj was probably taken by the Shadow."

N"We found the Professor & Vanessa, but that hardly seems worth it. One step forward, 6 steps back."

*Grimm is promptly assaulted by a blast of darkness! Ordinary darkness, from a dark room.*

"Come in," Grimm stepped inside and spoke over his shoulder. "I'll explain what happened. I believe I met the source."
Stefan apprehensively followed him inside.

*This elicits a choked sob from Tirea, who starts rubbing her eyes again*

Eve:<The professor did give us valuable information however. It seems she will be a worthwhile ally.>

*Eve moves to pat Tirea on the back*

OOC: Do I move on without Harley or wait to see if he has anything to add? Middle ground, bitches!

L"No offense, but after waking up in the middle of the night to fight monsters, being shot at by a crazy priest, & finding out that most of our friends just died, I don't really want to go over it all right now. I just want to check into the hotel so I can eat something & go to sleep."

T"We'll also have to get used to keeping watches to make sure we don't get attacked or abducted in the middle of the night."

N"Does that even matter? Something could happen in literally a second."

T"That's why I think it's so important that we do anything we can to increase our chances of survival."

"I just wanna go home," Astarte mumbled, then composed herself to speak more clearly. "If these things want us they're going to get us anyway. Why can't I just wait for it there?"

Azuma: "You go home and you're putting more than just yourself at risk. Is the comfort of being abducted from your own bed worth so much that you'll put your family at risk for it?"

Eve:<I agree with Azuma. Anyone we come into contact with is at risk. It would be best to stay as far from our families as possible.>

T"Wow, that's pretty harsh."

L"It's also true. She's the one that said that all of us are put in danger if one of us is compromised. It's very important that we stick together until we can find a way to ward off the Shadow & capture Ira."

N"Dr. Schreiber must manage it somehow."

Astarte didn't respond, sufficiently shot down to return to silence.
