Episode Twelve: The Man Who Laughs

The city above lies in ruins, the snow doing little to cover the wreckage of the bombing raid and earthquake brought on by the appearance of an absurdly tall mountain visible from within the city. A mountain so tall, the top cannot be scene behind the clouds.

*Everyone had flown out of the collapsing tunnel, and now float in mid air. Eve points up at the mountain*

<That has got to be our next destination.>

Dianamon:<What about the other digimon here? Shouldn't we try and help them before we leave?>

*Same on their end. If he's not with someone else, then Roatha is on Dorugreymon's back.*

G<"Maybe. On the other hand, we could be searching for nobody, while giving the enemy time to prepare traps.">

R<"You can't seriously be suggesting we just leave them!?">

G<"I am simply saying, we don't know if we can save anyone here, but we do know we can save the Digital World by defeating the rest of Millenniummon's stooges.">

R"Zarek or the resistance would be better equipped to handle this job anyway."

Azuma: "There's one left before Milleniummon itself."

They presumably begin heading towards the mountain, the wreckage of the New Fallout smoldering behind them.

Rapidmon:<Sure, if they will actually do it.>

*They follow rather reluctantly*

R<"Wait, aren't we at least going to call for help before we go?!">

Azuma: "You can try messaging HiAndromon."

*Eve does that*

HiAndromon, are you alright?

*Rosemon snatches the device away & types.*

That's terrible! Can you help them?! Do you need help!?

*Eve crosses her arms, looking very annoyed*

<Hey!?>

*Rosemon hands it back.*

R"Sorry. I was just worried."

*Eve excepts it, still looking rather cross*

Alright. Good luck.

Rapidmon:<It's cool, don't worry.>

Hopefully they finally start heading towards the mountain, now that they've stood outside in the snow and wind only for there to be more snow and more wind when they do get to the mountain.

The mountain is an enormous spiral, a path leading from the bottom and presumably to the top which is obscured by the snow and clouds.

And none of them dressed for the weather.

*Because blankets trap heat & therefore won't be very useful if he gets it out when he has none, Roatha gets out his blanket.*

G<"So should we regress & cover up like Roatha, or just try to fly up the mountain & finish this guy off quickly?">

*Eve shivers silently, while Karatenmon covers Cameron with his arms to protect him. Dianamon doesn't do anything, as it feels fine for her*

Dianamon:<We should have brought heavier jackets.>

Eve:<Maybe we would have, if we weren't pulled back to the digital world so suddenly.>

*She sounds rather cross when she says this*

As it's not my fault no one bothered to change clothes when it would have been practical such as it would have been four arcs ago long before its conclusion such as any instance they were in their homes and no one has made any effort to move, they presumably stand at the base of the mountain as the wind blows snow at and around them.

Something makes a low growl that sounds both near and far and oddly familiar.

D<Can someone answer that question? I'm freezing my tail off, here, so if you don't need my wings, I'd like to get under the blanket now! Besides, our Digivolutions won't last forever.>

R<"What was that growl?">

D<One thing at a time!>

*Gallantmon gets in front, guarding them with her shield.*

*Dianamon moves to stand beside Gallantmon, holding her scythe in front of her. Rapidmon sets Eve and Roatha down then stands beside Karatenmon slightly behind Dianamon*

The wind blows snow in front of them, a localized tornado forming in front of them with Wendigomon inside of it. Multiple apparitions of Wendigomon appear around them although unlike their encounter with the monster in the Misty Trees, no one feels compelled to cannibalize anyone instead the Wendigomon drift around like leaves in the wind.

Wendigomon: "Go..."

Wendigimon: "Go back..."

Azuma & Wendigomon: "To the beginning..."

He looks up the path, one of the apparitions drifting lazily in front of him.

Azuma: "Whatever the answer is, make it quick."

Cameron:<You know, this place is a lot like where we first came into the digital world.>

With good reason beyond it just being cold and dark. As stated, the Digivolutions won't last forever and neither will their inability to not freeze to death which could be prolonged by hauling ass the hell away from the spooky bear things.

OOC: Fuck you both in the dick, stop ignoring me.

G<"Let's just fly.">

Rapidmon:<Yeah, we can't wait around for cryptic information from spoooky ghosts forever.>
