Golden Age: Revival

*Allina steps away from Taiyo and Euryale and notices Roatha, turning to Arthur.*

Allina: <What just happened?>

"I'm fine...we need to kill Schwarz, before he gets away!"

*Schwarz has already sprouted wings.*

Arthur<He passed out a while ago.>

*She lets go of Euryale.*

Taiyo:<...Right.>

[How do I get that spear back?]

Luna sits back up and rubs her forehead, trying to shake her horrible headache, then looks around at all the others.
"Where... where's the vampire?"
Her focus began to rush back to her as she realized that Schwarz was not dead. She didn't question why he hadn't been killed when half of his head was blown off, she just assured herself that he WOULD die by her hand.

"You want to leave?!" Luna jumps up to her feet, ignoring the throbbing pain in her head and raised her pistol, trying her best to aim for his chest and began firing round after round...
The noise of the pistol hurt her head even more, but then she felt the power growing again. He sorrow was replaced by anger, and the power fluctuated again.

This time, she barely noticed that the power was activating, and it began to affect everybody in the area. The images were of beasts, twice the size of the manticore, all rampaging and baring their giant teeth. On their tails were huge spikes- each of them boasting the body of a victim.

Then, as her last bullet left the pistol, the power got too much for her and she fell back to her knees, dropping the pistol and grabbing her head again.

Her illusion died away.

*Schwarz grabs his chest as his wings fall off in strips. Blood trickles from between his fingers & from his mouth. He starts walking towards Taiyo with barely a stagger, forming small claws on his other hand & reaching out for her chest.*

<Doesn't matter...I just need another one...before dawn....>

*Euryale snaps out of her trance & kicks him in the face, knocking him over.*

E"He seems...slower."

*Roatha starts to stir. Schwarz gets onto his knees.*

*Taiyo steps back.*

[Come back, come back, come back. It did before, why not now?]

*Presumably after decapitating the manticore, Azuma and Mimiru come running back. Azuma remains running, charging at Schwarz swinging his sword at Schwarz.*

Mimiru:<It's still 'alive'?>

*The weakened sword proves unable to do anything about a sword swinging into his ribcage. With it still lodged in there, he raises a trembling pair of hands, trying to reach Azuma's neck. Even this feeble attempt at a struggle is put to rest as Taiyo's lance scrapes his head while it's passing. At long last, Schwarz finally falls limp.*

R"I wonder why he even agreed to all of this?"

"That was probably something we should have asked before what was left of his head was turned to mush."

*Azuma pulls his sword from Schwarz's body. Taiyo stares at the lance like she doesn't want to touch it and who could blame her?*

Allina: <Well, it was about time.>

*She yawns and falls back on her butt, staring around.*

Allina: <Okay, now what?>

Arthur<I think I know how that man obtained his powers. I'd like to show you all.>

Gilgamesh<Well, I wouldn't. Catch ya later, Artie.>

*Gilgamesh salutes & walks off into the outback.*

*Taiyo hesitate before pulling the lance from Schwarz's remains. Turning away she shakes it, the tip still pointed towards the ground trying to get off any excess gray matter and guts that may be on it. Azuma looks at the scratch on his arm.*

"This won't kill me, right?"

Mimiru:<It better not. You're not allowed to die unless I kill you.>

*Allina gets up and walks over to Roatha.*

Allina: <Are you all right?>

Luna is very somberly retrieving her dead father from the front seat of the car and taking him to the boot for the return trip home.
And here I thought it was just to be the one funeral in this place this time... At least... the creature is dead.

R"Yeah, I'm fine. Euryale, how dangerous is Manticore venom?"

E"They say a single scratch will kill a man instantly. Of course, the ancients greatly overexaggerated the venom of most monsters. So, honestly, only time will tell."

*Nero is looking at the car.*

N"Shouldn't we...I don't know...say something?"

Arthur<I'm afraid there is no time. Shall we wait much longer, legions of monsters with Senthose's powers can be produced. Roatha, Nero, & Taiyo, at the very least, must come with me. The former 2 have connections to Senthose while the latter maiden is the new wielder of the Lance of Longinus, which we may very well require the aid of.>

Allina: <Exactly how many people from your...times...have made it to the present? This is starting to get weird--er.>

*Taiyo looks at Arthur uneasily while Azuma continues to stare at his arm.*

Taiyo:<The Lance of What?>

"That's nice, I guess."

N"The Lance of Longinus is the spear that pierced the side of Christ."

E"And that guy who tried to take it was the actual soldier himself."

Arthur<Which is why it's a feat to answer the lady's question. Magic has been entombed since the age of Camelot. Merlin himself, in his most feverish reveries, never imagined so many alternatives to "survive to the present," as you put it. I believe this world has moved around me, Gilgamesh has been surviving within its soul," & I'm led to believe you've encountered actual immortals.>

Allina: <...So you have no idea.>

Taiyo:<Oh. That's neat.>

"I'd say so. If Schwarz counts and..."

Mimiru:<What's his name in Russia.>

Arthur<A lesson to take to heart, that took the end of the world for myself to learn: No human being may possibly know everything, be he king or wizard or serf.>

N"This Koshkey guy was immortal? Why do you keep neglecting to mention these important facts?!"

"It almost never comes up."

Allina: <Yep, not a clue.>

*She turns to Euryale.*

Allina: <Is your throat all right, by the way?>

E"Yeah, I'm fine."

Arthur<We shall need to journey a short distance. The ley lines here have been cleansed, so we shall need to locate another crossing point. I believe there is a sizeable monolith in the area that we can utilize.>

*He sets off into the outback, gesturing for them to follow.*

*Taiyo hurridly catches up with Euryale and hooks an arm around hers. Azuma follows still staring at his scratched arm.*

Mimiru:<If you're so worried about your arm, hold it out and someone will cut it off.>

"I think I'll wait for the poison to slowly spread throughout my body and kill me in a most likely horrible way."

*Allina walks up to Azuma from behind and puts her hand on his shoulder, grinning to his ear.*

Allina: <Worried you won't be able to sneak into our classes and spy on Mimiru anymo-->

*She widens her eyes as a wave of light runs down his arm from her hand, healing his wound and neutralizing the poison.*
